Organizational creativity is indispensable in a highly competitive and dynamic academic environment; and the role of individuals is mostly unquantifiable. Hence the study argued that the ideas, novel research output, patents, grants of the academic staff depend on the flexible wellbeing of the workforce which is at a low level in Nigeria. Thus, the paper investigated the role of personality traits on the relationship between flexible wellbeing and organizational creativity. The paper implemented a cross-sectional survey research design and collated data from six hundred and twenty-one academic staff ranked from Senior Lecturer to Professor from eight selected private universities in South-West, Nigeria through applying multi-stage random sampling technique. Reliable and validated tests were conducted on the adapted questionnaire before it was used for the study. The result from hierarchical regression analysis using SPSS add-on called process analysis revealed that personality traits have a moderating effect on the interactions between flexible wellbeing and organizational creativity (ΔR2 = 0.014, ΔF(1, 528) = 13.579, p < 0.05). Management to tailor wellbeing policies and practices to workers’ creative drive as there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to designing an effective flexible wellbeing strategy.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess the role of job contents on academic staff turnover intentions in Kenyan Universities Materials and Methods: The study was guided by a positivism research philosophy and a descriptive cross-sectional survey design was used. The study population was 17210 academic staff in chartered universities in Kenya from whom a sample of 364 academic staff was drawn. A multistage sampling technique was used. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire. Data were analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The study findings were presented using tables, charts, and graphs. Results: The study found that the relationship between job contents and academic staff turnover intentions was negative and statistically significant  The study concluded that the academic staff agreed that they were happy with work tasks, job contents, duties, responsibilities, achievement, success, recognition, job independence, autonomy, and status in the university and society. Employee satisfaction with job content leads to low turnover intentions. A unique contribution to theory, practice, and policy: The study findings validate Herzberg’s Two-Factor theory. Results indicate that the theory is applicable in the study of staff turnover intentions. In addition, the findings may in the future serve as a platform for additional studies in the same subject for other academics, students and researchers. Human Resource managers would benefit from the recommendations set out in this study to retain employees by understanding the role of job content in employee turnover.

The link between the work motivation and work commitment is well established in a variety of work settings. However, the role of organizational culture is not explored in depth, especially as a moderator between work motivation and work commitment. The present study undertakes an examination of the above explained model. The sample consisted of 351 academics from nine public universities in the state of Punjab, Pakistan. Cross-sectional survey design was employed to collect the data. The statistical analyses were performed with Partial Least Squares technique using the Smart PLS 3.0. The findings revealed that adhocracy culture moderates the link between non-self-determined work motivation and work commitment among university academic staff. The study has implications for authorities to capitalize on organizational culture to boost work motivation that will ultimately improve work commitment among academics.

Debate on what drives workers’ commitment has remained unabated, multidimensional, and geographically spread but contextual intelligence shown that poor morale could be the hindrance. The paper argued from job-engagement and job-fit perspectives to workers’ commitment. The cross-sectional survey research design was adopted and data were gathered from 377 regular non-academic staff from six selected private universities in Ogun State, Nigeria through a multi-stage random sampling technique. The reliability and validity test were conducted on the adapted questionnaire before it was administered. The result from stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that job-engagement and job-fit dimensions had positive significant combined effect on workers’ commitment (R = 0.819, F(5, 371) = 151,184, Adj. R2 = 0.666, p < 0.05). It recommended that management should ensure that the job-holder’s capabilities match the job-demands by assessing the competencies of those whose jobs are to be enriched to drive workers’ commitment.

Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) have been considered as the key player in the provision of services to address the economic, environmental and socio-cultural developmental issues. United Nations global sustainable development goals (SDGs) focused the role of partnerships between different sectors in addressing sustainable development issues. The study focuses on the role of NGOs especially the local organization called as Balochistan Rural Development & Research Society (BRDRS) in empowering community in Balochistan. We conducted a cross-sectional survey in two districts of Balochistan province to investigate role of NGOs among beneficiaries of BRDRS education projects and programs in focused communities by following the quantitative research approach. By using proportionate random sampling technique, 400 respondents were selected out of the total beneficiaries. The results indicated significant associations between BRDRS educational projects (i.e. Arranging Students Exposure Visits, Conducted Speech Competitions, Arranging Enrollment Campaigns, Renovation of the Schools, and Follow-up Mechanism to Schools) and level of satisfaction among the beneficiaries. The study recommends that government should also be involved to improve the policy and make a supportive and conducive environment through partnerships in the education sector with NGOs for the sustainable community development.

The position that a dedicated and loyal worker is an asset and a resource component for business sustainability is germane. However, reports have shown that in Nigeria and most developing climes, the obligation by workers to stay and add value in their organization is as fragile as thin ice. Also, there is limited data analysis of skill needs to measure work interest and preference of workers in higher institutions. Thus, this paper determined if job-fit dimensions (work interest, work preference) affect workers’ normative commitment. By applying a cross-sectional survey research design, collated data from 377 regular non-academic staff from six selected private universities in Ogun State, Nigeria, was obtained through a multi-stage random sampling technique. The content, criterion, construct validity, and test-retest reliability tested the adapted questionnaire before administration. Multiple regression analysis results revealed that job-fit dimensions had a positive significant combined effect on workers’ normative commitment (R = 0.558, F (2, 374) = 84.622, Adj. R2 = 0.308, p < 0.05). Management and HR practitioners should be more conscious of the hiring process, promote independence and flexibility for workers' development, training, prospects for collaboration, and a sense of connectedness with the job as a measure of enhancing loyalty.

AbstractThe audit expectation gap is critical to the auditing profession because the greater the unfulfilled expectation from the public, the lower the credibility earning potential and prestige associated with the work of auditors.  The study examined the level and nature of expectation gap (performance gap) between auditors and users of financial statements.  It sought  to establish whether or not there are differences between users of financial statements and auditors’ perception of management responsibility for the preparation of financial statements, its reliability and decision usefulness.  Chi-square (c2) was used to analyze the data obtained from the study.  The data were obtained through questionnaire.  Two hundred and fifty (250) copies of the instrument  were distributed using purposive sampling technique.  In this study,  a cross-sectional survey was conducted to capture the perceptions of users of financial statements in Nigeria.  The tests of hypothesis were done using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 14.0.  Tests were carried out at a  significant level of 5% and four degree of freedom.  The  findings of this study indicated that there is a wide expectation gap in the areas of auditors responsibility for fraud prevention and detection.  There is no generally accepted description of the role of the auditor.  Audit  scandals had negative impact on auditor’s credibility.  We recommend that users of financial statements should be enlightened more on the responsibilities of auditors on the financial statements, the role of the auditor should be clarified and quality control measures should be observed in audit firms.Key words: Auditing, Audit Performance gap, Users of Financial Statements, perceptions
