Purpose: This study aims to identify whether the degree of fit of the correlation between high supply chain and manufacturing strategy will result in a better performance.Design/methodology/approach: Strategic alignment test between the functions uses 102 SMEs in Yogyakarta as, Indonesia with purposive sampling technique. The data are collected by distributing questionnaires to the companies that qualify the criteria of the sample, respondent target are procurement manager, production and IT.Findings: Samples are grouped into two ideal types of strategies used mean split technique. 53 SMEs adopt ASCS (Agile Supply Chain Strategy) and 49 SMEs adopt LSCS (Lean Supply Chain Strategy). Two of the strategy groups have a low value of misfit score; it means that the degree of fit between supply chain strategy and manufacturing strategy is high. The result of simple regression test by using one side technique shows that a regression coefficient values is negative both in LSCS and ASCS group, but the hypothesis test is only proven on ASCS group while LSCS group is not significant.Research limitations/implications: (1) The empirical finding of bivariate fit model test encourage a research space to explore the other contingent variable besides manufacturing strategy. For example, business and information technology strategy; (2) The measurement of the company performance becomes the objective of the success of the alignment of supply chain strategy with the contingent variable which should be specified using the performance variable of the supply chain.Originality/value: The use of Euclidean distance formula is expected to cover the technical limitations of contingency test by using interaction approach between the complex variables; the value of misfit score reflects the extent to which program alignment between the company functions.

Introduction: The purpose of the study is to describe the characteristics of the development pattern of the SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) capabilities in managing integrated supply chain capabilities. Specifically, the purpose of the study is to test empirically whether inter-group of supply chain strategy can be found the differences in the characteristics (1) the contexts of organization, they are competitiveness  and product type; (2) the featured competitive priorities in the manufacturing field and (3) the performance achievement. Researh Method: The hypothesis testing process of the study uses the sample of 102 SMEs in the Province of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The testing technique used in this study is the technique of cluster analysis and ANOVA. Findings: The testing result of cluster analysis identifies 3 taxa of supply chain strategy group, each strategic profiling of the supply chain describes that only cluster 2, that is the type of Le-Agile has the consistency of decision, while the type of Agile and Lean does not have the consistency. The result of ANOVA test is used to test 3 hypotheses and all hypotheses are supported, while the hypothesis of supply chain strategy group differences based on the type of product is not proven. Research Limitations: The use of single source will lead to a single respondent bias and give rise to an interrater  reliability for the perceptual data. Especially when measuring the performance variables in this study which uses self-report, thus the use of a single respondent will lead to bias. Novelty: This study aims to test the concept of fit in particular the alignment conception of strategy between functions, they are supply chain and manufacturing strategy by using a selection approach. The taxonomy result will produce a strategic profiling which is able to describe the extent to which the strategic decision congruency and consistency between functions in the scope of SMEs in particular.

Supply chain strategy aims to determine the benefit of operation, distribution, services and all activities an organization is using based on its specific strategy. With the high increasing rate of competitiveness in today’s markets, companies must know about their supply chain strategy to survive and win the market versus their competitors. Studies about supply chain strategies mainly focus on each supply chain strategy’s characteristic and the activities deployed by the company may be neglected in this condition. This study aims to determine companies’ supply chain strategy using an activity based approach aligned with its main categories which are lean, agile and leagile. It is critical for any company to know about the activities related to each supply chain strategy and also the level of conformance between the supply chain strategy and deployed activities. A hypothesis test is used to examine the level of conformance between supply chain strategy and deployed activities at the final part of this study.

This study aims to examine the effect of competitive strategies on company performance with supply chains as moderating. This type of research is quantitative research. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data analysis techniques used simple linear regression and subgroups using Moderated Regression Analysis. The results of the study show that competitive strategies have an effect on company performance. Supply chain as a moderating variable strengthens the relationship of competitive strategies to company performance. Low cost strategies and differentiation are used in measuring competitive strategies. Where differentiation strategies are more applied than low cost strategies due to the object of research in the fields of property, real estate, building construction that produces limited and unique products at high costs.

In a highly competitive environment, cost reduction and optimization of the supply chain are more than ever a strategic issue for companies. In this work, we are going to propose and analyze a model of design and development of the Lean Supply Chain strategy. This model based on the results and the logic of the model proposed in the previous research work, and more precisely the way of the determination of Supply Chain strategies, whose aspect is operational excellence. This model serves as a decision support tool for business managers to design or develop Supply Chain strategies based on the Lean supply chain.

In today’s highly competitive environment, organizations need to evaluate and select suppliers based on their manufacturing strategy. Identification of supply chain strategy of the organization, determination of decision criteria, and methods of supplier selection are appearing to be the most important components in research area in the field of supply chain management. In this paper, evaluation of suppliers is done based on the balanced scorecard framework using new distance measure in fuzzy TOPSIS by considering the supply chain strategy of the manufacturing organization. To take care of vagueness in decision making, trapezoidal fuzzy number is assumed for pairwise comparisons to determine relative weights of perspectives and criteria of supplier selection. Also, linguistic variables specified in terms of trapezoidal fuzzy number are considered for the payoff values of criteria of the suppliers. These fuzzy numbers satisfied the Jensen based inequality. A detailed application of the proposed methodology is illustrated.

The present article proposes a complete framework for supply chain strategy (SCS) analysis that is adapted to the specific characteristics of the agrifood chain, thereby facilitating the management of the former. As a specific case of analysis, the horticultural supply chain, originating in Spain and ending with the European consumer, was analyzed, taking as a reference the marketing companies at origin (mainly social economy companies, that is, cooperatives). In addition, a survey of marketing companies is conducted to possibly determine which explicit cooperative growth strategies may include horizontal and vertical collaboration relationships with other members of the chain. The aim was to analyze with whom the horticultural commercialization company collaborates within the supply chain and the key points of such a collaboration. A model analyzing the influence of collaboration on company performance was also considered. The results reveal that, in recent years, aspects related to quality and health have been surpassed and replaced by the concept of sustainability within a framework of collaboration with customers. Additionally, upstream collaboration has been found to be, in most cases, more profitable than collaboration with customers. In any case, it became evident that there is a need to expand collaboration within the chain by incorporating the supplier of the supplier, with the aim of making the chain more profitable.

Given the Covid-19 pandemic, most companies are currently facingsupply chain risks in the future. This provides a common thread thatmaintaining the stability of industrial supply chain management duringthe Covid-19 pandemic is a very important matter, including for PTBerlian Gresik. Based on the objectives, this study used a designexplanatory research (hypothesis testing) with the causality approachwhich aims to explain causal relationships. The population in this studyconsisted of all employees at PT Berlian Gresik, totaling 96 employees. While the sampling technique in this study used a saturated samplingmethod, so that the sample used was also a number of existingpopulations. The analysis technique used is structural equationmodeling with the Smart PLS 3 program tools. The results of this studyare (1) Supply Chain Management positive and significant effect onCompany Performance; (2) Supplay Chain Management positive andsignificant effect on Competitive Advantage; and (3) CompetitiveAdvantage has a positive and significant effect to CompanyPerformance.
