At Szent István University we teach database management in the framework of several subjects. For preparation for the data modeling exam students of one of these courses prepared with help the electronic tests of Moodle e-learning education system, while the attendees of the other course used printed data modeling exercise book, we wrote him based on the inspiration of students?? demand. With examinations based upon statistical methods we looked for an answer to see whether one of the preparation methods yield significantly better results. We analyzed whether there is any remarkable difference between the advantages and disadvantages of the two ways of preparation. We made a survey among students to see which of the preparation methods is favored by them. Based on the outcome of the analysis we are going to decide which one of preparation methods will be recommended by us as teachers.

In the higher education system, distance learning using electronic educational courses is becoming the most relevant and widely demanded way of learning. This is primarily due to the rapidly developing worldwide process of digitalization of education. Besides, in connection with the transition to a two-level education system, the number of hours in the curriculum devoted to students’ independent work has significantly increased. These technologies are a useful tool for organizing a student’s cognitive independence. The advantages are the ability to study at any convenient time, anywhere, the ability to learn at one’s own pace, and the ability to learn without interrupting work. On the other hand, there are some shortcomings, such as the problem of user identification and the need for the student to have strong motivation. This study aimed to show one of the options for organizing students' independent work on the example of the electronic educational course "Mathematics and Fundamentals of Mathematical Information Processing", created on the basis of the LMS MOODLE system. The experiment was attended by 30 students from two academic groups (15 people each) aged 16 to 17, studying at the Elabuga Institute of Kazan (Volga) Federal University. One of the groups mastered the discipline "Mathematics and Fundamentals of Mathematical Information Processing" in the traditional form, the other group - in the remote form using the electronic educational course developed by the authors. After studying the course in both groups, verification work and a survey were conducted. Processing the results of the control work using statistical methods made it possible to assess how much the success of students in mathematics depends on the choice of the form of training. The survey results allowed the authors to formulate ways to improve the quality of distance learning mathematics using an electronic educational course.

Teaching and learning has fundamentally changed in the last thirty years. In this period, a wide range of novel teaching theories has been established. Recent research states that a teachers professional identity consists of a cognitive, psychological and also a social perspective. The identity of a teacher emerges when s/he interacts with his/her students or other people. As a result of these interactions, teachers treat the questions “who are they? and who do they want to become?. These questions pose different views on educational methodologies today. On the one side some professionals argue for learning in a community which supports establishing an average basis of knowledge among all pupils. This approach especially helps the struggling pupils, since a key component is that pupils learn from each other and align their knowledge. On the other side, however, others vote for an individual learning program. Here, in particular talents are promoted. The question is, what approach is more promising for the society of tomorrow. This work deals with the underlying theories, discusses the advantages and disadvantages of these learning theories and, as an example, additionally incorporates a focused view on the Austrian education system

This article provides a comparative analysis of existing texture synthesis methods. The advantages and disadvantages of the methods are revealed. In our work, we were guided by the results of extensive expert testing, which was attended by more than 25 people on 20 fundamentally different textures. This allowed us to draw conclusions about what types of textures which methods should be used. Our study showed that recently popular neural network and statistical methods are neither the best in terms of synthesis quality nor speed. However, they also generate more diverse textures. On the other hand, the easiest and fastest method for rearranging patches showed the best quality and speed. Thus, pattern synthesis of textures is one of the promising areas of research in which different approaches have different advantages.

Abstract In this article, we will compare the SQL and NoSQL models, their advantages and disadvantages, clarify the variations of using both approaches to database management and explain in which cases it is better to use one or the other model. Three main characteristics of the system were tested: parallel data processing, working with information stores, and data replication. The possibility of parallel data processing was evaluated by analyzing the mechanisms of blocking, multi-level parallel access control and ACID. Storage testing covered both physical media and RAM usage. Replication was tested in synchronous and asynchronous modes. During the tests, we found out that SQL databases with the possibility of clustering showed promising performance results per node and also have scalability.
