Factors Affecting Internet Advertising Adoption in Ad Agencies

The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting adoption of Internet advertising in advertising agencies. The paper provides preliminary insights into why ad agencies are reluctant to recommend Internet advertising to their clients. A theoretical framework was developed by scrutinizing the body of literature. The gathered date was verified by 294 academic and practical experts in the field of marketing and advertising. In pursuing this goal, a questionnaire was designed to validate factors affecting the adoption of Internet advertising. Results indicate that 18 variables in the form of three key factors, namely “technical knowledge of account manager,” “e-commerce readiness of country” and “agencies' ability of Internet adoption” affect adoption of Internet advertising in ad agencies. It was found that e-commerce readiness of a country is the critical factor in adopting internet advertising in ad agencies. This is the first study which addresses the adoption of Internet advertising in ad agencies. This study reports that while government does not provide infrastructure required for the advancement of e-commerce (readiness), the ad agencies still will recommend previous ad channels to their clients.

This study presents primarily factors affecting interactive agencies in Iran. There is a kind of unwillingness among Iranian ad agencies to execute online ad campaign in compare to the global trend and the advantage of use of online ad makes it imperative to find the key factors affecting interactive agencies behavior. Accordingly, the body of literature was analyzed and eight critical factors including “Management participation,” “Organizational culture,” “Size of the organization,” “The level of organization technology,” “Communication infrastructure,” “Financial infrastructure,” “Technology infrastructure” and “Electronic readiness,” were extracted. The expert questionnaire was designed to validate the gathered factors. By analyzing 294 questionnaires, the type of management was found as key factor in adopting online ad campaign execution.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to develop an integrated theoretical framework of the interrelation of the key success factors in the process of standards implementation. Design/methodology/approach – Extensive case study work was carried out in ten American plants that had adopted ISO 9001 and or ISO 14001. First, within-case analysis captures the uniqueness of the implementation processes at each plant and leads to construction of the causal maps. Next, cross-case comparison identifies the key factors and the relationship between them, resulting in the theoretical framework. Findings – The key factors affecting implementation effectiveness include focus on internal improvement, top management support, design of the system around existing processes, use of information technology, positive employees’ attitude, and employees’ usage of the system. The resulting framework suggests three alternative pathways to effective implementation of standards: (i) incentives pathway, i.e., by providing the right incentives; (ii) integration pathway, i.e., by designing the system around existing processes; and (iii) information technology pathway, i.e., by using information technology. Research limitations/implications – The key contribution of this research is the integrated theoretical framework. Practical implications – Practically, this framework provides managers a clear depiction of the key actions required at each stage of standard implementation. Originality/value – To the best of our knowledge, this is the first integrated framework of the factors affecting standard adoption. We believe this framework is applicable to other meta-standards.

The objective of this research is to investigate the dynamics of English as a Second Language (here onwards, ESL) writing and to present a theoretical framework for empirical testing the proposed factors affecting ESL writing. The analysis of literature showed that ESL writing anxiety and the use of first/native language (L1) are among the key factors that significantly affect ESL writing performance of students at various academic levels. Additionally, it is also revealed that ESL writing self-efficacy is a factor that is related to ESL writing performance as well as ESL writing anxiety and the interference of the first language in ESL writing. The interference model, the linguistic interdependence model, common underlying proficiency hypothesis and the self-efficacy theory are the theories that theoretically support such empirical investigation. Therefore, it is proposed that ESL writing self-efficacy should be examined as a moderating variable in the relationship of ESL writing anxiety and the use of L1 with ESL writing performance in future research.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to discuss the findings from the body of case studies offered in the issue, combined with three external perspectives on local voices and action. Design/methodology/approach Using as its basis the eight key case studies and three external contributions to the special issue, the paper offers a theoretical framework as a basis for discussion of this material. Through this, it identifies possible modes of action understood through the theoretical framework and elaborated through the specific cases. It concludes with proposals for further work. Findings The discussion finds that from a local perspective, the ambitions of local populations and local NGOs to achieve emancipatory change depend on the scope for local collaboration and partnerships to exercise influence on underlying risk factors. It resolves the suggested tension between operating within, and outside the system through the concept of “legitimate subversion”. Originality/value It is felt that the original recording of case studies of local level action combined with the process of iterative critical reflection on the part of the contributors offers a novel approach to knowledge creation from practice, and offers insights bridging theoretical and practitioner perspectives into means of addressing underlying risk factors affecting local populations.

A two-step extraction method was used to extract proteins from Caragana korshinskii Kom., including a NaOH solution extraction followed by a water extraction. A power-law model, three-site kinetic extraction model, and second-order model were utilized to investigate the mechanism of the water extraction process and the key factors affecting the protein yield. The experimental data fitted well with the three-site kinetic model, indicating that the water extraction process included washing and faster and slower stages. In addition, the slower stage was the rate-limiting step. For the water extraction process, the protein yield was increased by decreasing the particle size, increasing the NaOH concentration, or raising the extraction temperature, among which the extraction temperature was the critical factor for controlling the protein yield.

In modern conditions of development, financial security is an integral part of the overall security of the region and is formed on the basis of the functioning of the financial system. The complication of relationships between key segments of international financial markets, as well as the limited ability to accurately predict future trends in the development of the global financial system, lead to a gradual increase in the risks that accompany the activities of economic entities, and an increase in the number and scale of internal and external threats that have a negative impact on the financial security of the state. This formulation of the issue requires generalization of approaches to determining the financial security of the region in order to further formalize this issue and determine the key factors affecting it. The article considers the types of financial security, as well as certain areas of ensuring the financial security of the region and their priority. In work the assessment of the level of socio-economic development of the region with a view to ensuring financial security on the basis of which offers the main activities and priority areas of implementation of the investment policy that will ensure financial security of the Republic of Crimea.

AbstractWestern blotting (WB) is one of the most widely used techniques to identify proteins as well as post translational modifications of proteins. The selection of electroblotted membrane is one of the key factors affecting the detection sensitivity of the protein which is transferred from gel to membrane in WB. The most common used membranes are polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and nitrocellulose (NC) membranes. Which membrane of these two is more suitable for WB has not been reported so far. Here, by incubating proteins which were transferred to PVDF or NC membranes with a series of antibodies and different types of lectins, we investigated the relationship between the binding ability of these two membranes to proteins or glycoproteins and the molecular weight of the target protein. The antibody re-probed ability of the two membranes was also explored. Moreover, we verified the above results by directly incubating proteins having different molecular weights onto PVDF or NC membranes. Bound proteins were stained with direct blue-71, and the staining intensity was quantitated by scanning and densitometry.

Car ownership is one of the key factors affecting travel behaviour and thus also essential in terms of sustainable mobility. This study examines car ownership and how people’s willingness to own a car may change in the future, when considering the effects of public transport, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and automated vehicles (AVs). Results of two citizen surveys conducted with representative samples (NAV-survey = 2036; NMaaS-survey = 1176) of Finns aged 18–64 are presented. The results show that 39% of respondents would not want or need to own a car if public transport connections were good enough, 58% if the described mobility service was available and 65% if all vehicles in traffic were automated. Hence, car ownership can decrease as a result of the implementation of AVs and MaaS, and higher public transport quality of service. Current mobility behaviour has a strong correlation to car ownership, as respondents who use public transport frequently feel less of a will or need to own a car than others. Generally, women and younger people feel less of a will or need to own a car, but factors such as educational level and residential location seem to have a relatively low effect.
