The purpose of this paper is to report the findings of a systematic review of literature in green marketing domain and to propose directions for future research. Green marketing issues are delineated from literature extending marketing orientation and marketing mix frameworks. As society becomes more concerned with the natural environment, businesses modify their behaviour in an attempt to address society's concerns. Based on the literature review, the conceptual review and direction for future research have been delineated and discussed. The paper concludes with the evidences of integration between sustainability and marketing in forms of corporate environmental actions and green marketing practices in businesses. The paper deals with the concept of 4-Ps and the green marketing practice as business response to the increasing environmental consciousness of consumers in the market. The discussion highlights future research avenues and consequent implications for marketers of green products in designing their marketing strategies.

Purpose – The study aims to propose four novel constructs of green satisfaction, green loyalty, green trust and green brand equity. It identifies the role of social marketing, relationship marketing, marketing orientation, general strategies, green marketing and marketing mix elements in enhancing financial and non-financial performance and ultimately the green brand equity. Green marketing strategies are gaining significant attention in the literature to support societal marketing concept vis-à-vis to enhance brand equity in the present competitive era. The present study conceptualizes a novel strategic green marketing orientation (SGMO) concept. Design/methodology/approach – The paper draws upon the extant literature to present a series of research propositions relating to SGMO. Findings – The study provides new insight to marketing management by highlighting the factors such as social marketing, relationship marketing and marketing orientation as the constituent elements which facilitate the development of SGMO in an organization. Further, the study has put emphasis on SGMO- performance relationship which is mediated by green trust, green satisfaction and green loyalty. Finally, it advances an understanding in enhancing green brand equity of the organization. Research limitations – Being conceptual in nature, the paper needs to be empirically tested across manufacturing and service sectors. Further, lack of generalization of the scale items in various sectors needs to be researched in the future research. Originality/value – This paper can help managers in identifying the three perspectives of SGMO, which include strategies (general), green marketing and marketing mix elements.

In this paper, we are interested in the knowledge that is “wasted” in organizations, that is existing relevant knowledge that is overlooked in the process of knowledge conversion. Given the competitive pressure firms are facing in today´s business environment, a waste of knowledge is not only costly but also dangerous. This means that we consider knowledge from a knowledge at risk perspective. Having this in mind, the purpose of this paper is to review research on knowledge waste in organizations to establish our current body of knowledge regarding this topic. The study consists of a systematic review of 51 peer-reviewed articles addressing knowledge waste in organizations. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, no systematic literature review on this topic has previously been published or presented. The topic seems to be a promising field for intensive research and offers a variety of future research avenues. In view of practitioners, the study´s finding may enable an increased awareness towards the areas where existing knowledge is at the mercy of “waste”. This can assist practitioners to better cope with risks related to this waste and, therefore, better exploit the (limited) knowledge base available.

Green marketing is growing at a rapid pace and has become the latest buzzword for the society, where firms are putting extra efforts for a greener world, while adopting latest and innovative production methodology. On the other hand, consumers are equally interested in switching brands or even paying a premium for a greener alternative with a view of indulging in a healthy and safe lifestyle. This study would emphasis on environmental marketing strategies, its sustainability as well as the 4 components of green marketing mix. This paper would highlight the nature of environmental marketing, how imperative it is to produce and sell green products, which initiates a step towards saving our nature with its benefits, while also discussing its inhibitors related to eco-marketing. Nevertheless, this research would analyse the importance and need of green marketing for growing Indian companies, deducing from the fact that not only customers are changing their buying preferences but multinational organizations are also taking mammoth steps to produce green products or services in order to protect depletion of ozone layer. PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to provide a systematic review of articles on sport published in leading business studies journals within marketing, organisational studies and strategy.Design/methodology/approachBased on a review of 38 identified articles within the subfields of marketing, strategy and organisation studies published between 2000 and 2015, the articles’ topical, theoretical and methodological orientation within the studied subfields were analysed followed by a cross-subfield analysis.FindingsThe authors identify considerable differences in topical, theoretical and methodological orientation among the studied subfields’ associated articles. Overall, the authors also find that articles across all subfields tend to be focussed on contributing to mature theory, even though the subfield of marketing in particular exhibits contributions to nascent theory in contrast to organisation studies and strategy.Originality/valueThis paper contributes by illustrating the current state of research that is devoted or related to the phenomenon of sport within three subfields in business studies. Furthermore, the authors discuss the role played by leading business studies journalsvis-à-vissport sector-specific journals and offer avenues for future research.

The main purpose of this chapter is to explore how small-scale sports events are marketed and what issues are important when marketing them. For this purpose, literature review was made by considering the issues related to event marketing. The success of events depends largely on their marketing. Especially considering the important effects of these events on the location, it is important that the marketing plan process of small-scale sports events, who the event consumers are, why they want to participate in the event, and how they follow the process participate in the event. In addition, it is an important issue why the 5W's of marketing are important for small-scale sports events. The marketing mix of small-scale sports events, which is created to address these questions, and IMC, which is developed specifically for events, are two of the most important tools in event marketing.

This paper aims aimed to present the trends of the literature review in internal marketing and service innovation between 1990 and 2016. The significant reason to conduct this research is that significant variables of internal marketing to link with service innovation are not clearly defined. This research yielded 22 systematic reviews of articles in the Scopus library and adopted a thematic analysis to analyze the data collected. This study provides provided answers to research questions by elaborating on overall trends, objectives, theoretical framework, methodologies, and potential variables that strongly connect between internal marketing and service innovation. While sample sizes are limited to this paper, it suggests suggested fruitful recommendations for future research to overcome this limitation. This research has had two practical implications for managers to redefine their roles and the relationship between members of the organization and to help managers and the firms to consider internal marketing efforts towards motivation, organizational culture, and organizational learning.

Extensive research has investigated how perceived brand globalness (PBG) and perceived brand localness (PBL) affect brand preference since Steenkamp, Batra, and Alden’s (2003) landmark article. In this systematic literature review, we organize and synthesize the literature on PBG and PBL by analyzing 95 articles published in the past 17 years. We identify similarities, inconsistencies, and omissions in the literature by investigating different conceptualizations of PBG and PBL, boundary conditions of PBG and PBL effects on brand preference, psychological mechanisms through which PBG and PBL affect brand preference, the theoretical foundations underlying PBG and PBL research, and methodological approaches used in the literature. The study outlines avenues for further research based on prior research and current global trends, such as hybridization/glocalization marketing strategies, antiglobalization trends, and digitalization.

However, several problems in research onguanxipersist, and multiple debates are still ongoing without much consensus in sight. This study has two goals. First, we offer a systematic review of the current literature onguanxi, especially by differentiatingguandyads fromxinetworks. This reconceptualization ofguanxienables us to clarify the concept ofguanxiby differentiating its two dimensions. Second, based on this literature review, we propose a redirection of future research onguanxisuch thatguandyads andxinetworks are not examined in isolation; rather, their holistic and dynamic interaction is the most fruitful avenue for future research, especially the four mechanisms of their interaction. The proposed reconceptualization and redirection are our two contributions to the literature.

Purpose Co-marketing strategies play an important role in enabling firms to improve their competitive position. However, despite its increasing implementation, it remains a topic that is largely not researched. The purpose of this paper is to analyze existing contributions to the field of co-marketing research and the different perspectives scholars have adopted in analyzing the topic. Design/methodology/approach A literature review has been developed, as its lack seems to be a major hindrance to the development of related studies. A specific focus has been made on the adopted approaches. Five approaches have been identified, and multidimensional scaling (MDS) has been used to analyze the differences among them. Findings First, the analysis of the typologies of studies on co-marketing alliances is made. Also, the identified approaches are strategic-based, consumer-based, relational-based, specificity-based and evaluation-based. What emerges from the MDS is that there are two perspectives of analysis of the alliance that characterize them: the inside–outside and the wide–narrow points of view. Research limitations/implications Limitations are mostly referred to the methodologies and the level of subjectivity they imply. For example, they are not only the choices made concerning keywords to be used and, consequently, the articles included in the analysis, but also the MDS that offers broad autonomy to the researchers in interpreting the data. Originality/value The originality of this research is that it fills an emerged gap concerning a literature review on co-marketing alliances, supporting future research in this field of study. The identification of the approaches underlines what may be lacking, providing interesting insights on possible avenues for future research.
