The variety of new technologies available for classroom use requires a choice not just between the technological options, but among them as well, since an educator may choose a single option or include a mix of media. In this study we investigate a particular mix of advanced technology and its effect on student learning outcomes. Our experimental design compares outcomes from a traditional teaching format with those of a more advanced web-based format. Our model is based on cognitive load theory, is developed from perceptions of the students, and is analyzed using factor analysis. The results based on this qualitative model show promise for delving further into the assessment of learning. This would provide researchers with additional tools to help evaluate their results and educators with a basis on which to make decisions regarding which advanced technologies to use.

Learning is an active, social process. However, many distance education programs are flat and asynchronous with limited interaction. Virtual environments may be best equipped to foster an active social learning environment that provides optimal distance education. This study explored how nursing informatics students perceived the strengths and limitations of three different online modalities of learning: Learning Management System, Webinar, and Virtual Environments. Student perceptions of nine learning and instructional technology domains were explored using the Student Assessment of Learning Gains instrument (Seymour, Wiese, Hunter, & Daffinrud, 2000) with additional, open-ended question. Two concurrent themes arose from the three platforms: technical challenges and students showing preference for synchronous web-based learning. Virtual Environments emerged as the favored distance based education. As the availability and use of these technologies proliferates, educators are challenged to understand the effects of these technologies on student learning outcomes to optimize student learning.

Student Assessment of Learning Gains (SALGains) is a Web-based instrument for measuring student perception of their learning in a variety of courses. The authors adapted this instrument to measure students’ achieved proficiency in analyzing cases in an advanced business communication class. The instrument showed that students did achieve a high level of proficiency and that they did so equally in both traditional and online classes.

For decades, many scholars have contended that Saudi Arabia is a fixed political system, where a conservative monarchy uses advanced technology, oil revenues, and religion to dominate the people. Such a system is often portrayed as inherently unstable, a seemingly never-ending series of collisions between an unchanging traditional political structure seeking to hold on to power at any cost and a dynamic modernity—a view encapsulated in a phrase expressed at virtually every public discussion of the Kingdom in the West: ‘you must admit that Saudi Arabia must change’. Ironically this phrase confirms what this article argues is a secret to the success of Saudi Arabia in the contemporary era: the ability to legitimize transformation without calling it change. No society is static, including Saudi Arabia. Throughout the Kingdom’s history, the defining social institutions have repeatedly utilized Tajdīd (Revival) and Iṣlāḥ (Reform) to respond to new technologies and the changing expectations of a diverse society. While Muslim scholars are most often entrusted to arbitrate this process, ordinary Saudis use this process to guide their actions in the various social spaces they encounter both at home and abroad. Critically, this process reflects the response of King Abdulaziz and the founders of the third Saudi state in the early twentieth century to the factors that had brought down previous Saudi states in the nineteenth century.

This article reports on research conducted in the department of Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University from 2002 to 2005 on first-year undergraduate student performance in, and reaction to, a web-based introductory course in stylistic analysis. The main focus of this report is a comparison of student responses to the varying ways in which the web-based course was used from year to year. The description of student responses is based on an analysis of end-of-course questionnaires and a comparison of exit grades. In 2002–3, students accessed the first two-thirds of the course in web-based form and the last third through more traditional teaching. In 2003–4 the entire course was accessed in web-based form, and in 2004–5 web-based course workshops were used as part of a combined package which also involved weekly lectures and seminars. Some comparison is also made with student performance in, and responses to, the traditional lecture + seminar form of the course, as typified in the 2001–2 version of the course.

In the Agriculture sectors the pressure is increased immensely due to the rise in population. In this present year we mainly witness a move from conventional methods to the advanced technology with advent of the technology. Machine Learning and Text Processing have transformed the quality and the quantity of agriculture. The real time monitoring systems along with hybridization of species paved away for resource efficiency. Scientists and researchers across the globe are mainly shifting towards collaborative projects and ideologies to explore this field for saving society. The optimal solution has been provided by racing in the tech industry. This application will be portable, scalable and durable that provides help for initiating new areas in the agriculture field. So, this survey focuses on machine learning methodologies along with Text Processing systems in agriculture. This startup’s private and public sector which is around the world that provides smart and sustainable solutions are briefly discussed. Based on agriculture this scenario, limitations, applications, development and future parameters are also briefly explained. The greatest challenge for the future agriculture lies in making agriculture research and extension more demand driven and client oriented. In addition, laboratory analysis has been undertaken to assess the nitrogen status and the soil carbon of fresh paddy soils and the used paddy soils as well as saplings. During the first season of 2011 the data collected on pests, disease incidence and severity and yield are being compiled for analysis. Therefore, integrated research to develop a bottom up participatory technology extension approach using new technologies is suggested for sustainable development in agriculture.

Assessment of learning outcomes is an integral component in the implementation of education. The necessity to conduct an assessment of learning outcomes is emphasized in the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 66 of 2013 concerning Educational Assessment Standards that these standards aim to ensure: (1) Planning of students is in accordance with the competencies achieved based on assessment principles, (2) Implementation of professional assessment of participants , open, educative, effective, efficient, and in accordance with the socio-cultural context, and (3) Reporting the results of participant assessments in an objective, accountable, and informative manner. manners. The approach used is qualitative. The type of research is case study. Data collection techniques using the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results obtained from this study are; 1) The Digital Report Card or ARD application is used to make it easier for teachers to process learning outcomes that have been achieved by students in the learning process. 2). In the process of inputting the assessment of student learning outcomes, 90% of teachers at MTs Negeri Kupang have been able to use the Digital Report Card (ARD) Application and 10% are still in the process of assisting ARD operators. The input of grades is done online and is connected directly to the server at the school.


In the present era, the internet and new technologies are changing the information behavior of news reader .Instead of reading a copy of the local newspaper or watching the scheduledevening news, people increasingly turn to the internet for daily news updates. A Multi-Lingual news feed application is aimed at developing a web based application named multilingual news feed app. This Application deals with the user who wants to read news from the web application. User can select different countries in which a user is interested, the latest news will be fetched from the selected country. The news will be fetched and displayed based on the country selected in its own national language & the news is categorized into 7 different categories. A user can select any category which they are looking for. When you are done selecting the country & category, then the page will automatically refresh and the news will be displayed on MultiLingual news feed application. This application also supports translation and the news can be translated into any language. This application is fully responsive and has a good-looking user interface. The users will find this application much interesting for reading the news articles.

Given the emerging nature of massive open online courses (MOOCs), this paper is a synthesis of critical reflections, commentaries and cautionary tales from a variety of perspectives, looking at the issues facing education and considering whether traditional teaching methods have outlived their usefulness.In times where educational institutions are facing financial cuts and student debt increases, some argue free university online courses will be the saviour of education, (Koller et al, 2013). Others argue they could destroy centuries of tradition and threaten some of the world's greatest universities (Vardi 2012).This paper, builds on the research by examining some of the phenomenal changes to technology enhanced learning, being brought about by new technologies and business. It summarises some of the key discourses around MOOCs, which continue to generate heated debates and divide opinions about their credibility, value and importance. I argue that any form of technology that drives engaging and tailored education, precisely to the needs of the individuals, coupled with opening up education to those that cannot afford it, has to be a viable alternative and make traditional, academic institutions question their offerings and respond.

Web-based formative assessment model in the current study divided into three cycles of a pre-learning cycle, learning cycle, and post-learning cycle. Previous research in the pre-learning stage, web-based formative assessment models can provide feedback quickly and can improve students' understanding of concepts. The current study develops the post-learning cycle, a web-based formative assessment model in physics specifically for heat and temperature materials in vocational school students grade X. The present study is used in the research and development method. Post-learning cycle, a web-based formative assessment model developed with six stages: 1) the collection of information and drafting, 2) planning, 3) establish initial product, 4) validate the initial product, 5) revisions, and 6) trial in the field. As a result, the post-learning cycle, a Web-Based formative assessment model is divided into three stages: diagnostic test, recording, and feedback. Based on trial results, it was found that the post-learning cycle, a web-based formative assessment model can help teachers and students to get quick feedback. Rapid feedback can help students to gain an understanding of the concept quickly and can help teachers to find students so that problems can be solved promptly. This formative assessment model can be used as a tool for assessment and evaluation of the achievement of student learning outcomes. In the future, a post-learning cycle, a Web-Based formative assessment model, can be used for learning other than physics.
