Flow theory has been widely applied in the context of information technology and is useful in understanding users’ behavior; however, few studies empirically examine what factors influence players’ flow, and what the facets and consequences of flow are in the context of electronic games (e-games). In this study, the author reviews previous flow-related literature to develop the proposed model to explore these research questions. The proposed model is empirically evaluated using survey data collected from 277 users responding about their perception of e-game. Results of this empirical study show that perceived ease of use, immediate feedback, skill and challenge are antecedents of flow, while enjoyment is the most salient facet of flow. The results provide further insights into e-game design and development.

Recently, the social networking applications expand rapidly and attract a lot of users in a short time period. This study attempts to develop a conceptual model to understand the continuance intention in the context of social networking. The conceptual model integrates the post-acceptance model of information system continuance with perceived ease-of-use and perceived usefulness proposed by Bhattacherjee (2001a) and Davis (1989), respectively. In the proposed model, continuance intention is influenced by the relationship quality and information system quality. Additionally, nine propositions are developed based the proposed model and literature review. Finally, conclusions, managerial implications, and future direction of research are also provided.

This study explores key factors affecting the usage of information technology (IT) tools in support of knowledge sharing in service organizations in Hong Kong. In a case study of five firms, the usage of IT tools is influenced by an array of factors acting as enablers, barriers, and motivators. The findings support extant theories on knowledge management (KM). This research discovers relationships between multiple factors and the usage of IT tools for knowledge sharing at various hierarchical levels. Operational factors like perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, staff capability, and nature of work induce higher usage of IT for knowledge sharing. These findings and related analyses have managerial implications for firms engaging in service business.

Mobile health (mHealth) services have recently been receiving increasing attention. However, there is a lack of knowledge about how users accept and adopt mobile medical treatment (MMT) services, some of the most promising mHealth services that aim to extend the patient–physician relationship beyond the conventional clinic environment. To fill this research gap, this study proposes a research model for predicting consumers’ acceptance behavior toward MMT services based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A survey was conducted among 303 Chinese MMT service users to evaluate the proposed model and relevant hypotheses using partial least squares. Several key findings were summarized from the results: (1) the attitude toward using MMT, technology anxiety, and trust are significantly associated with users’ behavioral intention to use MMT services; (2) the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and trust significantly influence users’ attitude toward using MMT services; (3) the perceived interactivity, perceived personalization, and privacy concerns have significant impacts on users’ perceptions of ease of use, usefulness, and trust toward MMT services. The current findings have both theoretical and practical implications that may guide practitioners and researchers to better understand consumers’ acceptance of MMT services.

Data gathered from MBA students, undergraduate students in business administration and school students were utilized to test the motivation for using microcomputers. Three motivators were investigated: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and perceived enjoyment. The results suggest that school students have greater enjoyment in using microcomputers than MBA and undergraduate students do, and that undergraduate students in business administration have the greatest perception of the usefulness of microcomputers.

This study presents a conceptual model that combines perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, innovativeness, trust, demographic characteristics and relationship drivers in order to examine their influence on the mobile services’ adoption intention. The proposed model is empirically tested using data collected from a survey with questionnaires conducted in Greece. The results are analyzed through factor analysis, stepwise regression analysis, and ANOVAs. The findings show that individuals’ innovativeness, their educational level, and the relationship ties between the users and the mobile services are key factors to encourage m-services’ adoption. The results provide interesting insights and useful hints to practitioners and researchers.

This study aims to determine the acceptance of technology in Islamic boarding schools and their use in terms of physics learning outcomes, it is necessary to conduct research on technology acceptance among Islamic boarding schools. In this study, the acceptance of the technology was measured using the TAM model. Measurements were carried out in several Islamic boarding schools in the Aceh Besar area. The instrument used is a questionnaire on the perception of acceptance of information technology and documentation in the form of students' scores. The results obtained are the perception of students' acceptance of technology consisting of five indicators, namely the perception of PEOU (Perceived Ease of Use), PU (Perceived Usefulness), ATU (Attitude Toward Using), AU (Actual Usage), and B (Behavioral) towards information technology. Towards students tend to be high, and if there is the influence of other variables and not included in the study, so it can be seen that technology acceptance tends to be high. There is a strong relationship between Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) and Perceived Usefulness (PU), PEOU and Attitude Toward Using (ATU), and Behavioral Intention (B) and Actual Usage (AU)

This purpose of the study is to develop the usage intention model of E-Learning systems. A survey of 1071 samples of six teaching hospitals in Taiwan shows that the effects of organizational support and self efficacy on usage intention are mediated by perceived ease of use and perceived useful. According to the statistical results, the proposed model fits very well for the samples. Besides, both organizational support and self efficacy are important antecedents of perceived ease of use and perceived useful. In addition, perceived ease of use has the most influence on usage intention, followed by perceived useful, organizational support, and self efficacy. Further investigation reveals that organizational support and self efficacy have both direct and indirect influences on usage intention. This research can provide E-Learning designers and managers of the hospital with the implication that we must focus not only on the technological aspect (perceived ease of use and perceived useful), but also on the social psychological aspect (organizational support and self efficacy).

Current wave of Social Networking Sites (SNS) has become a part of peoples’ daily lives. This study investigates the role of Personal Innovativeness in Information Technology (PIIT), in acceptance of SNS. The theoretical perspective of Technological Acceptance Model (TAM) and PIIT were used to explain the relationships developed in the study. This research is descriptive in nature and is based on primary data collected through self-administered questionnaires, among a sample of 216 undergraduates in Sri Lanka. Findings reconfirmed the relationships in original TAM, enabling to use TAM in SNS context. Further, PIIT significantly predicts the Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) of SNS. However, PIIT did not moderate the relationship between Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Intention to Use (IU) SNS. Theoretical and practical implications of these findings and directions for further research are discussed.
