Quadruple Change

The author in this study presents the new term called “Quadruple Change” as a framework for delivering high-value digital transformation in organizations. The quadruple change consists of technical, organizational, social, and global change during digital transformation. The author conducted a qualitative exploratory study to explore strategies that leaders need to adopt to cultivate transformation agents during digital transformation toward establishing sustainability. The study revealed that for successful digital transformation, organizations need to empower employees, engage them in the process of change, and develop the culture of transformation in the dynamic environment. Toward this achievement, cultivating transformation agents based on quadruple change is one of the significant steps. The study findings identified seven factors contributing to cultivating transformation agents in organizations, including vision creation, mindset change, knowledge improvement, innovation development, motivation increment, leadership support, and collaboration.

ABSTRACT Objective: to characterize the profile, the level of knowledge and satisfaction of the nurses for emergency services and emergency pre-hospital in Foz do Iguacu city, Paraná, Brazil. Method: this is about a descriptive and exploratory study. It was drawn up a questionnaire with 10 questions applied to 17 individuals, the answers were analyzed, tabulated and displayed in figures with frequencies and percentages. Results: eleven (64,7%) are female, with average age of 33 years, ten nurses (58,8%) are graduated in less than five years and all of them have or are doing postgraduate studies, but only three (17,6%) of these individuals studied specific for emergency area, and fifteen (88,2%) of those interviewed felt happy with their work. Conclusion: observing this representative sample of all the emergency services/emergency the council concluded that the qualifications of the nurse providing this assistance is far short of the needs of the sector, and it is up to all involved the practice of this process of change framework, or users, universities, classes of entities, employers, and especially the professionals, seeking higher quality and demanding bribes for the best. Método: estudo descritivo e exploratório, utilizando-se de entrevista individual, para a coleta de dados junto a enfermeiros de unidade de urgência e emergência, pré ou intra-hospitalar. Foi elaborado um questionário e aplicado a 17 enfermeiros, cujas respostas foram analisadas, tabuladas em gráficos e demonstradas em freqüências e porcentagens. Resultados: onze (64,7%) são do sexo feminino, com média de idade de 33 anos, dez (58,8%) estão formados a menos de cinco anos, todos já possuem ou estão realizando pós-graduação, mas apenas três (17,6%) buscaram formação especifica na área de emergência, e que quinze (88,2%) referiram sentir prazer pelo serviço que praticam. Conclusão: a qualificação do enfermeiro que presta esta assistência está muito aquém das necessidades do setor, e cabe a todos os envolvidos praticarem o processo de mudança deste quadro, ou seja, usuários, universidades, entidades de classes, empregadores, e principalmente os profissionais, buscando maior qualificação e exigindo melhores gratificações por estas. Método: estudio exploratorio, descriptivo, para el cual se ha realizado entrevista individual, con cuestiones semi-estructuradas para recoger datos de los enfermeros en la unidad de emergencia y rescate, o unidad pre-hospital. Se ha elaborado un cuestionario con diez preguntas, aplicado a 17 personas, cuyas respuestas analizadas se muestran por medio de gráficos organizados de acuerdo a frecuencias y porcentajes. Resultados: la mayoría de esas personas encuestadas son mujeres -  once mujeres (64,7%), con edad media de 33 años.  Diez de ellos han concluido la carrera de enfermero hace cinco años o menos.  Todos ya completaron o están realizando estudios de posgrado, pero sólo tres (17,6%) de estos buscaron formación en el área de emergencia hospitalar. Del total, quince (88,2%) de los entrevistados se declararon felices con la actividad profesional que desarrollan. Conclusión: la  calificación profesional del enfermero es inferior a las necesidades requeridas en este sector, cabe, por lo tanto, a todos los profesionales del sector el compromiso de cambio de este estado, es decir, usuarios,  universidades, sindicatos laborales, entidades, empresarios, y profesionales en general deben exigir mejor calificación profesional y deben pensar también que el enfermero debe ser mejor recompensado por su trabajo. Purpose The purpose of this study is to explore strategies during transformation to obtain sustainable development and to identify the human-based factors contributing to the transformation. Design/methodology/approach This qualitative study explored the strategies that health-care leaders need to adopt during transformation to achieve the Sustainable Development of the United Nations' agenda by 2030. The study was conducted in early 2020 among ten health-care leaders in the USA. The research design was an exploratory qualitative approach that used a semi-structured, open-ended questionnaire asked of ten US health-care leaders who had experience in leading health-care transformation in their organizations. The study findings identified that health-care leaders can facilitate the achievement of Sustainable Development by establishing strategies in knowledge improvement, innovation development, motivation increment, global strategy and local strategy alignment, leadership support and partnership development. Findings Six major themes emerged from the data linked to the central research question: “What are the strategies during digital transformation to make progress in the achievement of Sustainable Development by 2030?” The compressed collection of themes for the study included the following six major themes: knowledge development; innovation development; motivation; global strategy establishment; leadership; collaboration enhancement; and two minor themes, namely, mindset change and vision creation. Research limitations/implications Due to the few numbers of participants selected for this study (N = 10) may not be generalizable to other settings. The implication of this study is to identify the significant factors contributing to making progress in sustainable development in health-care organizations. The health-care leaders can learn what significant strategies can be helpful to establish future-based organizations toward achieving sustainability. Practical implications The results of this study provided actionable strategies to empower the employees and increase managerial innovation in health-care organizations. Social implications Promoting partnership of health-care organizations with social and global activities such as sustainable development goals that are contributing in 5Ps: People, Prosperity, Peace, Partnership and Planet. Originality/value The main reason for the study was that health-care leaders worldwide could have a novel study that delineates the digital transformation strategies needed for creating impactful outcomes toward achieving sustainable development. Moreover, this unique study provided a useful outlook for health-care leaders to establish future-based health-care organizations while learning the dynamic of digital transformation is the key for health-care organizations to adapt their strategies for a sustainable future.

The article deals with theoretical and methodological issues of improving innovation development management systems. Special attention is paid to the impact of scientific and technological progress on the transformation of patterns and principles of justification of effective innovation solutions in the paradigm of digitalization, digital transformation and globalization. It is substantiated and proved that digitalization and digital transformation have predetermined the need to take into account such new patterns of innovation processes development as turbulence, delocalization, desynchronization, temporality, humanization, high level of corporate culture in the process of innovation activities.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a complex, disruptive event with many impacts beyond those related to health, national economies and global competition. While many worldwide companies were challenged to survive, the pandemic also presented many development opportunities for the long-term. The digital transformation, accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic, require new skills (OECD, 2020) informed by greater attention to the applied ethics of responsibility. Moreover, the development of the pandemic has generated an acceleration in a process of change in consumer behavior. Many businesses around the world have become aware of having to reconsider their market relationships starting from marketing channels, the use of marketing channels, from multichannelling, to omnichanneling, to metachannelling.
