The process of the COVID-19 pandemic has produced various social convulsions in our environment. Among these consequences is the development of an abundant literary and paraliterary production. Much of this production stimulated by the pandemic adopts a narrative form (micro-narratives, tales, personal testimonies): it consists of short narratives by non-professional writers included in recent books or on the internet. Based on a sample of this type of text in Spanish, the authors have carried out a study of various aspects of this creative activity, mainly metaphors that convey thematic motifs such as the war against the virus and the home as a complex, ambiguous symbol.

This article advances a holistic framework that aims to facilitate a better understanding of the nuanced impact of the internet on contemporary creative participation. Functioning simultaneously as the context, locus, and medium for creative activity, the internet affects each stage in the life cycle of a creative product – creation, distribution, interpretation, and remix. In addition, this influence is felt in a wide range of creative products: off-line and online, professional and vernacular. Previous research has not examined these different processes and types of creative output in conversation with each other; by advancing an integrative analytical approach and synthesizing research from multiple domains, this work attempts to address this gap. As a way to illuminate this impact and demonstrate the value of the proposed framework, the article applies this framework to three case studies: a work of off-line art ( The Artist Is Present), online art ( Moon), and online nonart or vernacular online creativity (Pepe the Frog memes). This analysis facilitates a deeper understanding of these interrelated processes, attends to the complex ways in which new media blurs the borders between those categorizations, and discusses the potential implications of these complex contemporary dynamics.

The article studies the specific features of hand-made (creative activity associated with handwork) terminology. This is a dynamically developing area of the term formation in modern Russian, which requires linguistic description and dictionary fixation. The object of the research is the lexical units of the thematic group "Handmade" in the amount of about 200 words. The purpose of the research is to determine the composition and features of this terminology. On the one hand, it demonstrates the main features of industry terminology. On the other hand, handmade terminology is characterized by imagery, expressiveness, polysemy, as shown in examples. This terminology is formed mainly spontaneously in the framework of spoken professional communication in the Internet discourse. There are six main thematic vocabulary groups. Handmade terminology can be viewed as a system of systems. Around the central concept of “technique or type of handiwork” is formed a ramified system of nominations. Handmade terminology does not have a lexicographic fixation in the special dictionary, and the spelling norms of many words are still being formed. Obviously, that the definition of such lexical nominations should include elements of interpretation. And the dictionary itself should be considered explanatory and definitional.

The reception of Thomas Mann in Poland confirms its special nature, involving a very high degree of transforming processing and extraordinary creativity. It is true that the author of The Magic Mountain, and only he is and was considered in Poland as the German intellectual of the twentieth century par excellence. The more that in the case of this exceptional writer prominent Polish artists and creators of the culture didn’t succumb to a superficial and short-lived fascination, but rather they transformed the threads of his works and artistic biography in a highly productive process. Often there was no exaggeration to say about the "reinterpretation" or even a sort of "over-interpretation" of several biographical and literary motifs. The reception of Thomas Mann was not and is not merely occasional reception at most of an academic character. The rank and importance of eminent Polish writers, literary critics, translators and literary critics presented in the article show in best way the creativity of Polish references and positions taking to Thomas Mann and his work. No other of his novel can compete because of his inspiring role to a permanent creative activity reception area with regard to Magic Mountain. The newest and best prove for it is dating back to 2015 as two adaptation attempts of the novel in the form of opera and theatrical performance were in Poland discussed and extensively commented in the press and on the Internet and finally awarded with major prizes.

Jakub Czopek, Opowieść transmedialna jako przykład kreacyjnych możliwości fandomu [Transmedia story as an example of creative possibilities of fandom]. Interdyscyplinarne Konteksty Pedagogiki Specjalnej, nr 23, Poznań 2018. Pp. 191-202. Adam Mickiewicz University Press. ISSN 2300-391X. DOI: https://doi.org/10.14746/ikps.2018.23.11 The subject of the article is the creative activity of fan communities (fandom), with particular emphasis on the transmedia storytelling, i.e. the story told simultaneously within various media. The development of the Internet in the Web 2.0 formula has opened a number of possibilities for the creation of fandoms centered around a particular series, movies, books or games. The main manifestations of the activity of these groups can be reduced on the one hand to analyzing and commenting on a given text of culture, and on the other hand, to develop it, by adding new stories, often using other medium than the one originally used.

The publication considers the institutional aspects of the development of Ukrainian art in the beginning of the 21st century. Understanding ofspace of artistic culture is narrower than the concept of traditional cultural space and is mostly limited to institutions, activities of which are focused on the sphere of art. The basis for the formation of the space of artistic culture isthe synergy of creative activity of the artists, managers, collectors, gallery owners, auctioneers, curators, critics, scientists, and other professionals. This space expands due to the institutional activities, analytical texts of specialists, collective performative actions of artists, as well as the processes of promotion (management), interpretation, museum storage, auction and gallery sales, exhibition at the biennial, fairs, exhibitions, distribution of photos and texts on the Internet. Thus, art practices in their activities today are transformed into an established non-subordinate cultural industry of active cooperation of all these entities. The demarcation of the boundaries between the fine arts and “free locations” not only creates a special sphere of culture that exists between art and life, but also opens contemporary art to the public, as both trained spectators and casual witnesses are involved in the work. Exposition practices, evolving in the process of general development of culture, choose the ways of their development in accordance with the requirements of the time, and their formation and style are based on the main trends and criteria of contemporary art.

The Information SuperHighway, Email, The Internet, FTP, BBS, Modems, : all buzz words which are becoming more and more routine in our daily life. Confusing terminology? Hopefully it won't be in a few minutes, all you need is to have a handle on a few basic concepts and terms and you will be on-line with the rest of the "telecommunication experts". These terms all refer to some type or aspect of tools associated with a range of computer-based communication software and hardware. They are in fact far less complex than the instruments we use on a day to day basis as microscopist's and microanalyst's. The key is for each of us to know what each is and how to make use of the wealth of information which they can make available to us for the asking. Basically all of these items relate to mechanisms and protocols by which we as scientists can easily exchange information rapidly and efficiently to colleagues in the office down the hall, or half-way around the world using computers and various communications media. The purpose of this tutorial/paper is to outline and demonstrate the basic ideas of some of the major information systems available to all of us today. For the sake of simplicity we will break this presentation down into two distinct (but as we shall see later connected) areas: telecommunications over conventional phone lines, and telecommunications by computer networks. Live tutorial/demonstrations of both procedures will be presented in the Computer Workshop/Software Exchange during the course of the meeting.
