Corporate Social Innovation During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Given that the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in an unprecedented scenario, there were no previous lessons learned about the organizational responses to social problems. As a result of the above, this chapter describes the practices used by seven Colombian organizations to face the first months of the pandemic based on corporate social innovation framework. A qualitative approach was used to carry out the study and a qualitative content analysis as a research method. The results obtained indicate that the companies participating in the research developed actions in the four pillars, with actions associated with social issues being more prevalent, especially concerning workers and vulnerable populations.

The ideology of Pancasila as a way of life, the basis of the state, and national identity has a various challenge from time to time so that the existence of Pancasila as an Ideology must be maintained, especially in industrial revolution 4.0. The research method used is a qualitative approach by doing study of literature. In data collection the writer used documentation while in techniques data analysis used content analysis, inductive and descriptive. Results of the research about challenges and strengthening of the Pancasila Ideology in facing the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 are: (1)  grounding Pancasila, (2) increasing professional human resources based on Pancasila’s values, (3) maintaining the existence of Pancasila as the State Ideology.

The objective of this research was to provide an understanding of cohesion and coherence in the newspaper Bisnis Indonesia with title Kemenperin Jamin Serap Garam Rakyat. The research method used is the method of content analysis with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques begin with data reduction, data tabulation, data classification, data interpretation, and conclusions. The results show that in the news text in the newspaper Bisnis Indonesia there is a more dominant cohesion found pronouns, ellipsis, and conjunctions or hyphens. Then, the coherence that is found is the relationship of contradictions, general specific relationships, comparison relationships, causal relationships, review relationships, and referral relationships. Entrepreneurship is a strategic opportunity for human development, on which MNCs play a vital role in the spillover effect. This chapter aims (1) to illustrate corporate social entrepreneurship (CSE) practices to generate social value and (2) to explore their ethical constraint alleviation. Using an internet-mediated research, a sustainability analysis of seventy companies from different countries and sizes evidenced that CSE is a tool for economic growth and good governance. This study brings new insights to the field of CSR and its role in sustainability by incorporating the entrepreneurship discipline. A corporate social innovation business model is proposed as a core business strategy. Also, Ecuadorian CSE practices and their different perspectives can serve as references for future studies.

The objectives of this study were: (1) To find out whether textbook used by second grade students at SD IT UMMI Kota Bengkulu fulfill the criteria of a good textbook. (2) To find out whether the English textbook used by second grade students at SD IT UMMI Kota Bengkulu relevant to KTSP curriculum. This research used descriptive qualitative content analysis as its research method. The data were collected from the English student book “Let’s Make Friends with English” for second grade students. The results showed that English textbook entitled “Let’s make friends with English” used by second grade students at SD IT UMMI Kota Bengkulu have fulfilled the criteria of a good textbook by achieving the Fair fulfillment. The textbook was categorized relevance to the KTSP curriculum, but the activities in the listening can be said irrelevant because they cannot cover the learning objectives in listening. It was then recommended that the teachers need to modify the tasks and activities on the textbook which did not fulfill the criteria of good textbook, especially in the area of accompanying materials (CD, Cassettes and pictures), language skill, and teach ability aspects.
