Industry/academic collaboration, involving the utilization of advanced information technologies (AITs), is an expanding phenomenon involving a substantial commitment of resources. This chapter presents a comprehensive framework for studying this phenomenon by extending adaptive structurization theory at the inter-institutional level. We suggest propositions, derived from the framework, to advance further research and to inform decision-making by stakeholders in industry/academic collaborations.

The article considers the feasibility of integrating artificial intelligence technologies into school education and identifies a problem in identifying didactic elements in the field of artificial intelligence, which must be mastered in a school informatics course. The purpose of the article is to propose variant of the content of teaching the elements of artificial intelligence for the general education of schoolchildren as part of the curricular and extracurricular activities in informatics. An analysis of the psychological, pedagogical and scientific-methodical literature in the field of artificial intelligence made it possible to identify the appropriateness of teaching schoolchildren the elements of artificial intelligence in the framework of a comprehensive informatics course, as the theoretical foundations of modern information technologies. Summarizing and systematizing the learning experience of schoolchildren in the field of artificial intelligence made it possible to form variant of the content of teaching the elements of artificial intelligence, which can be implemented in a compulsory informatics course for 9th grade, as well as in elective classes. The results of the study are the theoretical basis for the further development of the components of the methodological system of teaching the elements of artificial intelligence in a school informatics course. The research materials may be useful to specialists in the field of teaching informatics and to informatics teachers.

The problem statement (relevance). The article illustrates the outcome of analytical research in the area of substantiation of organizational and managerial structures of cement companies on the basis of conducting an integral estimation of complex conditions of operation (manufacturability of mining and geological conditions of cement production, level of production and technical conditions and social conditions) and outputs (production and technical level and financial level). Integrated assessment is provided by the appropriate methodology, the purpose of which supports an increase in the objectivity, reliability and reliability of decisions in the development of technological systems of cement enterprises.Purpose: development of an enlarged flowchart of the decision-making procedure algorithm for development strategies for cement enterprises. Methods used: the work used the method of “vector norm”, based on the methodological principles of the theory of complex decision making, utility theory, game theory, qualimetry, expert survey method and other generally accepted methods and principles.Novelty. The elements of novelty include an improved method of integrated assessment of the technological structure of cement enterprises in the conditions of external and internal environments of operation.Result. The article presents an iterative algorithm and decision-making procedure for structurally selected groups of cement enterprises with the choice of a specific form of their development. The results of the work made it possible to form the key areas of training and a list of information technologies that ensure technological readiness for the implementation of the directions of digitalization in relation to cement enterprises.Practical significance: the organizational and management apparatus with the appropriate mathematical reinforcement for the selection and justification of strategies for the development of cement enterprises. The practical implication of the outcome of the study due to the possibility to increase the effectiveness of organizational-technological and managerial solutions based on the developed methodology, technique and algorithm of formation of innovative strategy of development of the mining enterprises of the cement industry. The main provisions of the work are used in the holding “EUROCEMENT” in the development and implementation of plans for the development of industrial production in the short and long term.

The transition to "intellectual" agriculture is the main vector of modernization of the agricultural sector of the economy. It is based on integrated automation and robotization of production, the use of automated decision-making systems. This is inevitably accompanied by a significant increase in data flow from sensors, monitoring systems, meteorological stations, drones, satellites and other external systems. Farm management has the opportunity to use various online applications for accurate recommendations and making various kinds of management decisions. In this regard, the most effective use of cloud information technologies, allowing implementing the most complex information and technical level of automation systems for management of agricultural technologies. The purpose of this work is to test the approach to creating expert management decision support systems (DSS) through the knowledge base (KB), formed in the cloud information system. For this, we consider an example of constructing a DSS for choosing the optimal date for preparing forage from perennial grasses. A complete theoretical and algorithmic database of the analytical DSS implemented in the data processing center of the cloud information system is given. On its basis, a KB is formed for a variety of different decision-making conditions. This knowledge base is transmitted to the local DSS. To make decisions about the optimal dates for the preparation of the local DSS, two variants of algorithms are used. The first option is based on management models, and the second uses the pattern recognition method. The approbation of the algorithms was carried out according to the BZ from 50 cases. According to the results of testing, the method of pattern recognition proved to be more accurate, which provides a more flexible adjustment of the situation on the local DSS to a similar situation in the KB. The considered technique can be extended to other crops.

This study explored the utility of the learner autonomy concept in the Zimbabwean O Level English as a Second Language (ESL) classroom focusing on three Gweru urban high schools of the Midlands Province. The researchers intended to establish whether learner autonomy was a reality or just a myth in Zimbabwean classrooms. A qualitative multiple case study design was applied focusing on teaching strategies, availability of resources, challenges faced and ways of optimising it. Questionnaires and document analysis were used for data collection. The findings revealed that the concept did not manifest in explicit terms, the learners did not participate in decision making, and the teachers were not adequately prepared to administer autonomous processes with students. For it to be a reality, the Education Ministry is recommended to establish a comprehensive framework of how autonomous learning should be implemented. Teacher training should explicitly focus on how to develop autonomous learners. Teachers ought to be flexible enough to accommodate learners' contributions towards their learning.

Abstract The European Health Equity Status Report makes innovative use of microdata, at the level of the individual, to decompose the relative contributions of five essential underlying conditions to inequities in health and well-being. These essential conditions comprise: (1) Health services (2) Income security and social protection (3) Living conditions (4) Social and human capital (5) Employment and working conditions. Combining microdata across over twenty sources, the work of HESRi has also produced disaggregated indicators in health, well-being, and each of the five essential conditions. In conjunction with indicators of policy performance and investment, the HESRi Health Equity Dataset of over 100 indicators is the first of its kind, as a resource for monitoring and analysing inequities across the essential conditions and policies to inform decision making and action to reduce gaps in health and well-being.

Do working women enjoy greater levels of human agency? While the theoretical foundations underlying this connection are clear, the empirical evidence is quite mixed. We leverage detailed, new data on intra-household decision-making and labour market behaviour from four north Indian urban clusters to shed light on this question. We find that women who work exercise greater say in important decisions around the home. However, this ‘work advantage’ exhibits significant heterogeneity across decision types, decision-making domains, and definitions of work.
