In the hypermedia communication process, authors are connected to readers through hypermedia applications. The underlying software is an important part of the “communication channel” between authors and readers: it is effective if it is “transparent.” This means that hypermedia software must be flexible and powerful, to support naïve users as well as “experienced navigators;” it must be developed and tested before contents, because contents, in real projects, are released very late; it must be robust and error-free; and finally it must be inexpensive with respect to contents, because contents are the focus of the production effort. For all these reasons, the run-time software must be contents independent and application independent; in fact, it can be powerful enough only if its development costs can be shared over a large number of projects. Two applications, built around a reusable run-time engine based on the previous considerations, are presented in the paper.

Authenticating persons using fingerprints is a widely accepted method in the field of access control, border control, prosecution and many others. Today, fingerprint modules with customizable firmware can be bought commercially off the shelf by hobbyists and small companies to be used in their applications and are usually locally separated from a controller implementing the feature extraction and comparison algorithms. As a matter of fact, the communication channel between the sensor and the controller module is susceptible to eavesdropping and man in the middle attacks. Nevertheless, adding communication channel security to such a system has a direct negative impact on the system’s response time, thus directly affecting user acceptance. The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive investigation on measures to counter run-time degredation when adding communication channel security on behalf of an existing fingerprint verification chain. We show that a combination of the elliptic curve Diffie-Hellman key exchange together with AES-256 and the use of parallelization using OpenMP on a controller node leads to an acceptable run time making key creation and exchange upon every fingerprint read request a suitable undertaking.

For a comparative study of some data management methods when independent equipments have to communicate with a central server and discontinuities appear in the communication process, a simulation method was designed, software was developed and tests were run for different data recovery methods. Data recovery procedures were placed in different points of the equipment's activities sequence and the complexity of the simulation software was gradually increased till the stage in which multiple equipments were simulated and failures were taken into account for all system components (equipments, server and communication channel). Results were compared both for testing the simulator correctness and for appreciating the methods' effectiveness and future developments are mentioned.

This article explores the communication process between the authorities and society via social networks on the example of the municipality of Severodvinsk. Online platforms have become the main source of communication between the government authorities and citizens since 2017. The recently appointed head of the city selected an effective strategy for establishing dialogue with the population; he chose a popular communication channel, published comprehensible texts, and demonstrated quick response to the citizens’ requests. However, having made wrong decisions, from the perspective of the city residents, the administration and the mayor faced a lot of negativity and limited communication in the social networks. The goal of this research is to determine conditions for using social networks as the main communication channel in building dialogue between the government and society on the example of the municipality of Severodvinsk due to the fact that in the course of implementing information policy, it demonstrated two different models of using social networks. The object of this article is the profile page of the administration of Severodvinsk in the social network “Vkontakte”. The subject is the communication process of the municipal authorities in social networks. The conclusion is made that the administration should take into account the specificity of social networks, such as openness in expressing emotions by the citizens; it is necessary to learn working with online platforms, separate work criticism from personal criticism, and establish the dialogue based on the rule of two-way communication, which implies not only sharing information, but also perceiving the feedback.

The implementation of the construction bill of quantities (BOQ) pricing system is an important measure for deepening project cost management, and it is not only an important way to promote the construction project marketable and international, but also one of the measures for regulate the construction markets .In-depth study of the existing BOQ software, proposed construction projects BOQ system development based on software reuse. During the cause of system development software reuse is used, the function of the system model and the model of system development the soft component are given, with a soft component to assemble the system. The software reuse-based development model, with soft component assembly systems, it is not only speeding up the development progress and development costs, but also can improve the maintainability and scalability of the software.

Professional activity of conductor of educational choral collective is considered in the article. It is educed that conductor’s activity is built on rational and emotional basis, it is multifunction and includes the different types of activity : analytical, carrying out, pedagogical and organizational one. It is conducted the analysis of theoretical works of national and foreign specialists, that testifies that in the context of research of dualness of pedagogical process, its productivity directly depends on the specific of mutual relations between a conductor and choristers. It is described professional and psychological-educational quality of conductor of educational choral collective. An educational choral collective is a valuable link of communication process that passes information and hypothetically changes it. A choral collective is characterized by communicative connections of subjects, that is expressed in such binomial pairs: a composer — musical text; musical text — a conductor; a conductor — choir; choir — a listener; a conductor — a listener, where encoding from one «language» on other happens. The activity of each of the subjects of musical communication shows the complex process of its interpretation. A communication channel is a way through which informational communication between the sender and recipient of musical reports becomes possible, however, of all the possible variants of this channel between various subjects of musical communication, before the detailed analysis, the communication channel will be the subject between the performer and the listener, due to which the act of musical communication will be realised finally. The activities of the conductor, his professional and personal characteristics play a valuable role in the process of the choir collective. Conducting is one of the most difficult profession. Its structure is multicomponent, and display is multifaceted. The main task of conductor is perception of information, its comprehension, its transfer to other members of the collective, the achievement of the necessary result. In this regard, the choirmaster must possess a number of professional as well as psychological-pedagogical qualities. Professional qualities consist of the natural gift of special studies. Pedagogical qualities are the following: gnostic abilities, psychological and methodical planning abilities, diagnostic abilities, research abilities. Among pedagogical abilities, the first place is occupied by gnostic abilities. They appear in ability to pass knowledge to other persons and provide their mastering. It requires a personal understanding of the knowledge and its presentation in accessible form to each participant of the choir. This is the psychological essence of didactic abilities. Psychological essence of didactics capabilities consists herein. In the same time, a comprehension of the abilities is reason and mortgage of perfection of own carrying out mastery.

Specific features of the communication space in the library and information sphere are discussed. The communication process players and factors are named. The communication space scheme for the library and information sphere is proposed. The scheme comprises: library and information staff, target audience (users), partners, and regulatory authorities. The formal and informal communication channels are characterized and compared with their advantages and drawbacks named. Several procedures for choosing communication channels relevant to target audience are proposed to increase effectiveness of the communication process and validity of communicant-recipient information transfer. Optimum communication channel selection stages and factors are characterized. Communication barriers due to wrong communication channel and their negative consequences for the communication process are described. Knowledge of the communication space in the library and information sphere and communication channel selection algorithm enables to exclude the communication barriers.

Hypermedia applications were, at the beginning, hand-coded pages with “ad-hoc” links. This production method was acceptable until a few pages had to be produced, but it became rapidly unmanageable when several hundreds of pages with complex interactive objects had to be considered. In particular, two interwoven problems rapidly became relevant: how to ensure the “usability” of modern large hypermedia-applications (Garzotto, Matera & Paolini, 1999), and how to improve the efficiency of its production/maintenance process. In good hypermedia applications, in fact, the reader should be able to effectively exploit the information contained in the application: that is, he or she should be able to quickly locate the objects of interest, to understand the inner structure of the objects and to easily navigate from one object to another. Several factors concur to the achievement of usability: one of the most important is to have a good structuring of the information objects and a good structuring of the navigation patterns.
