Students' Satisfaction from E-Learning System

The present study was conducted to explore the students' satisfaction level from Virtual University of Pakistan e-learning system. This paper aimed at bringing the underlying factors which determine and affect students' satisfaction from e-learning. The method adopted for the present study was survey. In order to measure students' satisfaction a questionnaire with 25 items was deployed. The sample of current study comprised 240 students from different study programs. Descriptive statistics, regression analysis and one sample t-test were applied to measure students' satisfaction from the system. Results showed that students prefer this system due to its teaching standards. Regression analysis explained interactivity pattern as an important indicator of overall satisfaction from the system. One sample t-test revealed that students were highly satisfied from e-learning system. The results concluded that unconventional mode of learning is as powerful tool of education as conventional. Findings of the study lead to the practical implications and identify the need of face to face communication and betterment in interactivity patterns between instructors and students to enhance students' satisfaction from the system.

This chapter explores the satisfaction level of students from Virtual University of Pakistan mode of e-learning. The research aimed at explaining the various factors of adopting the e-learning mode as well as inquiring about the determinant of satisfaction from virtual educational systems. The quantitative study was conducted through survey method; 240 respondents were selected from all the Virtual University campuses through simple random sampling. Questionnaires based on 25 items were constructed to measure the satisfaction. One sample t-test and regression analysis were applied for data analysis. Results revealed that a majority of the students prefer this institute due to high teaching standards. Interactivity pattern was explained as the main predictor of students' satisfaction from the system. Findings of the study lead to the practical implications and identify the need of face-to-face communication and betterment in interactivity patterns between instructors and students to enhance students' satisfaction from the system.

Online learning is a learning via internet without meeting face-to-face between teachers and students. This online learning system is relatively new, therefore teachers and students should adapt quickly. This study aims to determine the online Arabic learning system during the COVID-19 pandemic at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) 1 Surakarta. Researcher used a qualitative approach and observation, interview, and documentation as data collection techniques. The results described that e-learning madrasah was used as the main media for online Arabic learning at MTsN 1 Surakarta during the covid-19 pandemic, then assisted by Whatsapp and Youtube channel. The subject matter was presented in video, powerpoint, and pdf. The learning stages were divided into three: preparation, implementation (pre-activities, whilst-activities and post-activities), and evaluation stage. This online learning helps teachers to coordinate with and supervise students easily, on the other hand, it is difficult for them to monitor the students’ understanding and bad internet network make some students could not follow the learning process in time.

The University Abdou Moumouni (UAM) of Niamey in Niger mainly focused on traditional face to face learning, and even the existence of the African Virtual University since the years 1999 did not change the situation. It is only after the official opening at the University of the Francophone Digital Campus in December 2003 that lecturers and students started overseeing and taking advantages of all the benefits of e-Learning and distance learning. The present paper builds on the author’s personal initiatory experience in e-Learning to highlight some specific challenges that traditional universities such as the UAM face in their efforts to introduce e-Learning and distance learning as a new mode of course delivery. The study shows that even though challenges are big, political and institutional support can freshen the perspectives and change opportunities into realities.

Electronic Web-based campus information systems and e-learning educational delivery became increasingly important for higher education practice in the late 20th and early 21st century (Bates, 2000; Cobarsí, 2005). These emergent information technologies brought about changes in the traditional face-to-face campus and paper-based communication and teaching (Brown & Duguid, 2000). There are several trends in the introduction of information technology in universities that can be summarised into three main types (Duderstadt, 2000; Folkers, 2005). Firstly, most universities gradually adopted electronic campus information systems and e-learning to reinforce functionalities offered by their physical campus, with no intention of substituting the traditional campus but simply to strengthen their capabilities. Secondly, other institutions, the so-called first generation distance universities, had no physical campus from the very beginning, such as the institutions founded in the 1970s: the British Open University http://www3.open.ac.uk or Spain’s Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia http://www.uned. es/portal/index.htm. Thus, they incorporated electronic media to complement their usual means of communication by post or periodical face-to-face tuition. Thirdly, the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia, hereinafter the OUC) is a quite different case: it was created from the very beginning (the academic year 1995-1996) as a wholly e-learning and Internet-based higher education institution, where a virtual campus with wide-ranging functionalities supports most of the day-to-day activities. As a result of these original premises, this university has some important organizational and information system features, which are summarised and discussed in the sections below, from the chronological perspective offered by its having been in operation for 10 years.

During the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and the national lockdowns implemented in countries around the world, many universities worldwide made the transition from face-to-face delivery to online learning using e-learning systems. However, the successful transition from traditional class-based learning to online learning depends greatly on understanding the challenges related to the implementation and use of e-learning systems, as well as the technical and management factors that need to be enhanced. This study aimed to investigate the challenges related to the use of e-learning systems in Jordanian universities and to explore the technical and management aspects that impacted the successful implementation and use of e-learning systems during COVID-19. To achieve the study objectives, a questionnaire was developed by the researcher and distributed online to lecturers working at Jordanian universities. A total of 184 lecturers participated in the study. Based on the findings, the study provides recommendations which will help higher education policy makers, university management teams, and software developers build strategies to ensure the successful implementation and use of e-learning systems during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The role of Science and Technology (IT) is huge nowadays. The role covers many fields. One of them is education. MAN 1 Ponorogo is one of the schools in Ponorogo district that has extra computer-based activities for a minimum level of diploma 1. It affects the increase in lesson hours. Therefore, to maximize face-to-face required innovative learning media. One such example is e-learning. E-learning is also expected to be used actively by students. E-learning is a learning system that utilizes communication and information technology (ICT) in the learning process between teachers and learners. The purpose of this program is to socialize e-learning quipper to teachers and students in MAN 1 Ponorogo to optimize learning and teaching activities (KBM). In the event, seventeen teachers were present and active. Eleven teachers strongly agree with e-learning quipper because it is easy and useful. As of the 24 students present and active, 2 students still have difficulty in using e-learning quipper. Thus, more than 95% of participants can use the e-learning quipper.

Subject material in the SMK Swasta Pariwisata Imelda Medan is quite difficult so that teachers and students need a long time in teaching and learning. to support an effective learning system at SMK Swasta Pariwisata Imelda Medan needs to be made an e-learning based learning system that is e-learning. the author uses the php language, mysql, dreamweaver and Xampp Control Panel Version 2.5.8, to provide solutions in the process of learning and teaching at SMK Swasta Pariwisata Imelda Medan in order to facilitate students and teachers in teaching and learning without the time limit provided by the school

Educational benefits of collaborative learning have been demonstrated in several studies and various systems have been developed to date. Numerous efforts have been made to enhance these benefits by supporting collaborative learning with information and communications technology. These efforts have primarily involved support for constructing collaborative learning groups, for collaborative learning in e-learning environments, and for collaborative learning analysis. This study aims to develop a computer-supported collaborative learning system that supports instructors in real time to facilitate collaborative learning in a face-to-face environment with multiple learners at the same time to provide enhanced support. Both the learner and instructor have one tablet terminal and conduct collaborative learning in a single classroom. Herein, the learner can use the tablet to save an educational log and freely browse the educational log of another learner. By referencing the educational logs, learners can learn through face-to-face communication. Additionally, the instructor can determine (1) who is viewing whose educational log and to what extent and (2) which learner is struggling to achieve targets. Herein, an overview of the proposed system is provided and the results obtained using the proposed system are reported to evaluate its effectiveness.

This paper aims at presenting an interactive approach that was implemented on Arab Open University (AOU) students to enrich their productive skills namely speaking, oral presentation and writing skills. The researcher aimed at establishing a community of practice through a blended learning environment which considers non-traditional multicultural leaner. This community of practice presents a combination of face-to-face facilitated learning, e-learning and self-study. The researcher applied “Present to Learn” approach on AOU students employing Johari Windows Model to develop the identified productive skills and break the students’ stage fright through collaboration in groups. An observation checklist was developed to check the students’ oral presentation and writing prompts. In addition, a questionnaire was developed to measure the students’ satisfaction towards the applied interactive approach and their assessment of the whole experiment. It was observed that cooperative work especially with having critical partners has improved the students’ performance achievement through learning from each other in one group and competing with other groups. The collected feedback from the questionnaire was in favour of applying this approach on more groups which was implemented across three consecutive academic semesters. Moreover, the students’ end results were statistically analysed and a correlation between high performance achievement and active participation inside and outside the class was drawn. The results have shown that students who participated by giving presentations reflecting their group work obtained higher grades than those who failed to work with others or did not give any presentations.
