India is confronting a surge in urban population in recent decades. This article is an endeavor to talk about the key issues to build future urban cities and to redeveloping existing infrastructure in existing urban areas. Further, the article discusses the difficulties in financing smart city projects in India. The government of India, under the leadership of PM Mr. Narendra Modi, has propelled a strong eagerness with the Smart City Mission in 2015 which has the sole objective of giving a better quality of life to the citizens of the country. Steps are being initiated by government for the transformation of over 100 cities into smart future cities. The present nature of government silos will represent a noteworthy test in the execution of urban development projects. To motivate and attract the increased private sector participation and investment in infrastructure projects it would be beneficial if the government funding were linked to the effort of developing projects as PPP.

Subject. The article considers functioning and development of process flows of transportation and logistics system of a smart city. Objectives. The study identifies factors and dependencies of the quality of human life on the organization and management of stream processes. Methods. I perform a comparative analysis of previous studies, taking into account the uniquely designed results, and the econometric analysis. Results. The study builds multiple regression models that are associated with stream processes, highlights interdependent indicators of temporary traffic and pollution that affect the indicator of life quality. However, the identified congestion indicator enables to predict the time spent in traffic jams per year for all participants of stream processes. Conclusions. The introduction of modern intelligent transportation systems as a component of the transportation and logistics system of a smart city does not fully solve the problems of congestion in cities at the current rate of urbanization and motorization. A viable solution is to develop cooperative and autonomous intelligent transportation systems based on the logistics approach. This will ensure control over congestion, the reduction of which will contribute to improving the life quality of people in urban areas.

Di era Internet of Things (IoT). Siapapun dapat mengakses data dimanapun dan kapanpun. Semua data yang tersimpan dapat diakses dengan menggunakan perangkat seperti smartphone, laptop, dan komputer. Salah satu dari teknologi Internet of Things adalah smart city untuk memonitoring lingkungan. Untuk dapat mengetahui kondisi dan kualitas suatu lingkungan, seseorang tidak perlu lagi menunggu pengumuman informasi atau datang ke instansi terkait di pemerintahan. Pemanfaatan IoT pada monitoring lingkungan dapat di terapkan pada bidang peternakan. Hal ini dapat membantu seseorang dalam mengetahui kualitas dari kondisi lingkungan yang akan dimanfaatkan untuk peternakan. Dalam hal ini adalah bagaimana mengetahui peternakan yang cocok untuk diterapkan dilingkungan yang dia tuju untuk membangun peternakan sapi atau peternakan ayam. Menggunakan perangkat wireless sensor networks (WSN) untuk melakukan pengambilan nilai dari kondisi lingkungan tersebut dapat membantu mengetahui kondisi dan kualitas lingkungan. IoT membantu seseorang untuk membuka usaha dibidang peternakan yang cocok untuk wilayah tersebut tanpa harus melakukan banyak survey yang menelan banyak biaya. Hanya dengan menggunakan teknologi IoT siapapun dapat mendapatkan data kualitas lingkungan yang cocok untuk membuka sebuah peternakan dengan kondisi lingkungan yang sudah diketahui sebelumnya. Kata kunci: Internet of Things, Kondisi Lingkungan, Peternakan, Smart City, WSN. In the Internet of Things era (IoT). Everyone can access the data in anywhere and anytime. All stored data can be accessed using end devices such as smartphones, laptops and computers. One of the IoT technologies is a smart city for monitoring the environment. To be able to know the condition and quality of an environment, everyone does not need to wait for the announcement of information or come to the relevant agencies in the government. Utilization of IoT on Environmental Monitoring can be applied to the field of ranch. in this case it will be used for helping someone in knowing the quality of environmental conditions that will be used for. In this case it is how to find out which ranchs are suitable to be applied in the environment from the user that he want to construct cow or chicken ranch. Using wireless sensor networks (WSN) to retrieve values from these environmental conditions can help determine the condition and quality of the environment. IoT helps someone to open a business in field of ranchs that is suitable for region without having to do many survey. Only by using IoT, anyone can get suitable environmental quality data to open a ranch with environmental conditions that have been known before.Keywords: Environmental conditions, Internet of Things, Ranch, Smart City, WSN.

Cities need continual improvements as they grow, and the government needs to create the means to meet this demand. To assist in sustainable development for communities, ISO 37120 was created to focus on cities, with indicators for urban services and quality of life. This article seeks to understand if Indicators for Sustainable Cities can help Governance make more assertive decisions and improve the residents’ quality of life.

The article examines the prerequisites and features of the SMART-economy. This new phenomenon is still insufficiently studied in the scientific literature. Different approaches and separate definitions of SMART-economy in the scientific literature are systematized. An understanding of SMART-economy in a narrow (as part of SMART-city) and broad sense (as a set of economic relations) is proposed. The main processes that determine the emergence of SMART-economy as an ecosystem are identified and disclosed. Digitalization (spread of ICT), institutionalization (penetration of ICT into public administration), urbanization (unprecedented growth of urban population and large cities), greening (increasing attention to environmental issues) and socialization (increasing the importance of solving social problems of the population) all contribute to the emergence of new quality of ecosystems. Based on the data, the trend of increasing the share of urban population in recent years is revealed, the data on the population of the largest cities in the world are given. The increasing in urban population highlights the problems of using ICT to solve the problems of greening, socialization, institutionalization in large cities.

Resumen: El crecimiento de la población en las zonas urbanas es una dificultad que se genera a nivel mundial y que requiere de tácticas que permitan contrarrestar sus efectos. Las ciudades inteligentes son vistas como una excelente solución a esta problemática ya que genera soluciones viables al apoyarse en la tecnología para gestionar diversos aspectos dentro de los que se incluye el entorno urbano. Este trabajo presenta una revisión de investigaciones que involucran la gestión urbana dentro de las ciudades inteligentes. Analizando el papel que cumple la gestión urbana dentro las ciudades inteligentes, lo que nos muestra que la gestión urbana apoyada de las TIC coopera visiblemente en la conformación de las ciudades inteligentes logrando mejorar la calidad de vida de sus habitantes. ___Palabras clave: ciudad inteligente, gestión urbana, planificación urbana, TIC. ___Abstract: Population growth in urban areas is a wordwide-generated difficulty and requires of tactics to counteract its effects. Smart cities are seen as an excellent solution to this problem, because they generate viable solutions to rely on technology to manage various aspects within which the urban environment is included. This paper presents a review of research involving urban management in smart cities. The rapid increase in the urban population in Africa has created many urban challenges, including informalities, waste management problems, increased health risks, and growing urban poverty. With the unplanned spatial patterns and informalities that exist with the current urban population, this raises the question of whether African cities are ready to host more than 1.3 billion people by 2050 and still achieve urban sustainability. Using Ghana as a case study, this research undertook a critical review of urban population trends and their relation with economic growth. It identified the actors of urban governance in Ghana, as well as their roles, contributions and level of participation in urban governance processes. Findings indicate that most urban management decisions in Ghana are made by the government and exclude the non-governmental actors and citizens who bear the outcome of such decisions. This has resulted in deficiencies in actualising local needs, thus hindering the provision of urban services. The study proposes an inclusive and participatory form of urban governance with active participation of non-governmental actors and a paradigm shift from the existing urban management approaches to a more sustainable one that delivers socioeconomic benefits for more inclusive and sustainable cities in Africa in the future.

The intensification of public transport in urban areas due to increased mobility at the regional and state levels, discrepancies between urban areas with the same population and the lack of statistics related to the efficiency and quality of public transport services are the main factors of our work. It is necessary to draw boundaries between the quality of services and the performance indicators of the public transport system. The quality of services is the subjective result of many intangible variables. The quality of service can be approached from four sides: from the point of view of the passenger, the performance of the vehicle, the specialized passenger transportation company, and the Government. Accessibility, comfort and convenience-these are the main indicators that should be evaluated by the population as having high ratings for the good quality of urban transport services. Being an important part of cultural heritage, intangible cultural heritage (hereinafter referred to as “ICH”) needs to be passed down from generation to generation. Seemed as the gene of national cultures, ICH is very important for the development and prosperity of human culture, for the development of social economy and civilization, and for the identity of individuals and ethnic groups. Since the publication of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2003, ICH safeguarding activities have been fully implemented throughout the world. Recording ICH is a basic and important way to safeguard ICH, this way plays an important role and has been widely approved throughout China and other countries. It has been applied in many ICH item safeguarding, such as Nanjing Yunjin, Qinhuai Lantern Festival. As we all know, ICH resources are very rich in China. There are 39 ICH items have been listed in “ the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity”, 1,372 ICH items have been listed in “the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in China”. There are a large number of famous and not famous ICH items scattered in urban areas. To record so many ICH resources, it is not enough to rely on the power of the government. As the creator and inheritor of ICH, the public should play an important role in the safeguarding activities. Attracting the public to participate is a prerequisite of ICH safeguarding. Through questionnaires, interviews and other research methods, this paper introduces the public’s awareness and attitude about recording ICH, and their ability and willingness to participate in ICH safeguarding activities. Based on the current status, It analyzes the advantages of public participation in the protection of ICH , and the disadvantages, opportunities and threats are also analyzed. Based on the international principle of “government-led, public participation”, this paper proposes to construct a “folk-government” model to optimize the quality of recording ICH. To ensure the quality of public participation, it further points out that some measures should be taken, such as strengthen the government leadership to provide necessary support, identifying their advantages and responsibilities of different participants to joint, expanding the participation content and diversifying the participation method. These measures are all aimed at promotion the safeguarding and inheriting the ICH.

A smart city is where networks and services become more efficient, using digital and telecommunications technologies in the country's population and businesses. One way to ensure the intelligent use of digital and telecommunications technologies for sound city governance can be the Internet of Things (IoT). The emphasis on the development of urban areas is based primarily on demographic statistics, which predict an increasing proportion of the urban population in the future. The aim of the paper is to provide an elementary framework for bikesharing as a tool for regional development from the perspective of IoT.

Purpose: This paper raises theoretical issues related to the functioning of cities that are determined as smart in order to find a better operational definition for further research. Design/methodology/approach: In search of the essence of the term, the paper refers to variety of definitions of smart city, and also to the theoretical models in operation enabling the measurement and comparison of indicators among urban areas in the different world locations. The analysis was performed on three rankings: Cities in Motion Index, Mercer Quality of Living, Arcadis The Sustainable Index. Findings: The conclusions indicate that the Smart City concept is connected with sustainable development more than to the quality of life. The city rankings concerning the highest life quality is completely different from the hierarchy of smart cities. Originality/value: The paper extends the definition of smart city and it may be valuable for researchers who develop the concept of smart city in their research.
