After the Second World War, the Czechoslovak Republic actively participated in migratory movements taking place in Central and Eastern Europe in order to get rid of the two most numerous ethnic groups - Hungarian and German. In order to fulfil its ideas, it used forced relocation, the exchange of population on the basis of an agreement, as well as the internal relocation of the population. The mechanical movement of the population on the territory of Slovakia took place intensively in the southern regions inhabited by the inhabitants of Hungarian nationality. The migration (resettlement, relocation) of the population was able to break the unified ethnic character of southern Slovakia and create ethnically mixed areas. This paper focuses on the means used by Czechoslovakia to reduce the population of Hungarian nationality. We chose municipalities in which various forms of migration appeared, while in each of the selected municipalities a different form of resettlement was dominant and at the same time we monitored its impact on the ethnic structure of the municipality. In the individual municipalities surveyed, based on censuses, there was no radical change in ethnic structure (even in the long term), despite the fact that the number of immigrants was considerable. The author examines the measures concerning the revenue side of city budgets (property revenues, local taxes), which were adopted in eight Slovak regional cities during the first wave of the COVID 19 pandemic. Using the method of analysis, comparison, categorical classification, systematization and finally synthesis the author in conclusion states that in choosing the fiscal measures used, the cities did not put their own economic interests and the achievement of budgeted income above the economic, social or cultural needs of individuals, rather perceive them as a possible effort to be proportional. The author also points out the finding that local governments are aware, in addition to the economic and social potential of local taxes, which are in their administration and thus become an effective and accessible direct tool for fulfilling some specific tasks of municipalities and cities. Elections are an essential part of any democratic country. With the establishment of self-governing regions, the first elections to the bodies of higher territorial units took place in Slovakia in 2001. Through them, voters can influence decisions at the regional level and be fully involved in decision-making processes. Only through elections is it possible to ensure the full participation of the population in decision-making on regional policy, which is ensured by the second level of regional self-government. The aim of the article is to analyze the constitutional regulation of regional elections in the Slovak Republic, to analyze all regional elections held since 2001 with a focus on voters participation, causes of non-participation and certain specifics that result from individual elections. Last but not least, the aim is to assess the participation of independent candidates and their growing popularity among voters. URL: https://vsas.fvs.upjs.sk/

Presented contribution deals with legality and legitimacy in the field of political science and sociology with a narrower focus on the mechanisms of legitimization of trust, the issue of acquisition and loss of legitimacy. The concepts of "legitimacy" and "legality" are directly linked to the exercise of official authority. Both the terms "legality" and "legitimacy" have a common basis, based on the law, the law, what is in line with the law. The clarification of legitimacy is based on the premise that what is legitimate must be legal (legal) and, in view of the legal basis, in accordance with objective law. Many ambiguities arise regarding the legitimacy of public authorities, which is questioned and criticized. The question of the legitimacy of the exercise of public power is a historically criticized issue, which is dealt with by sociology, political science and legal science.

Teachers of public universities are one of the categories of public administration employees, a specific category, when in general, and according to the legal imperative, schools can only conclude fixed-term employment relationships with them. As part of the process of filling the posts of university teachers, it is common and customary practice to carry out a selection procedure for a job up to the edge of the period when the teacher, who is still working in the given position, has a fixed-term employment relationship. The paper points out the negative consequences and impacts of this practice on the teacher, who puts a lot of effort into his pedagogical and scientific work, self-education and qualification procedure, while his employment contract ends, he is not at all sure of continuing his employment. At universities, where jobs are often filled on the last days of the employment of teachers still working for them, there is also a risk of violation of the provisions of the Labor Code on the creation of a new employment, as well as unnecessary administrative burden of the employer and employee. A critical analysis of the selection process results in a legislative proposal. URL: https://vsas.fvs.upjs.sk/

Arguments for and against the legislative regulation of sharing are discussed, both in terms of foreign experience and the situation within the Czech Republic in relation to the rules of the European Union. Results of the primary research are presented, the aim of which was to find out how the current state of legal regulation of the sharing economy in the Czech Republic is reflected in the perception of the Czech public. The results of the research clearly show that the public perceives the current legal regulation of the sharing economy as insufficient, which undermines public confidence in it.
