The qualitative and quantitative changes taking place at the present stage of the Russian educational services market development have led to a shift in the emphasis on the competition between higher education institutions and their educational services. Universities are improving the educational services quality by promoting novel or more competitive products in an increasingly tough competition for applicants. The authors suggest that to improve the promotion effect of the university educational services, it is necessary to carry out monitoring of the existing program efficiency, whose first stage is to analyze the existing strategy within the framework of digital distance learning, as the most popular learning method in contemporary conditions, which is gaining increasing popularity. A sociological survey (questionnaire) was chosen as a research method. The respondents were 250 students and teachers of the Russian State Social University (RSSU). The study has revealed that the vast majority, namely, about 87% of respondents, refused to fully switch to digital distance learning. However, 80% of undergraduate students and 75% of graduate master’s students of the extramural education department (75%) supported the use of digital distance learning in the educational process. At the same time, the low quality of training programs used in digital distance learning and the lack of individual adaptation of educational materials to the requirements and capabilities of the student require introducing interactivity into the materials and creating competent content of training programs, which is one of the indicators that affect the choice of an educational institution by potential consumers of educational services.

The article examines the features of the transformation of the role of a teacher in higher education in connection with the digitalization of education in the period before the pandemic, and during the transition of the university to a forced remote mode under the conditions of the pandemic. The assessment of the effectiveness of distance learning from the point of view of students and teachers is given. The purpose of the article is to determine expectations, the degree and nature of the influence of the teacher's personality on the effectiveness of educational process in general and distance learning in particular. Researching the effectiveness of higher education in the digital age and assessing the impact on teacher effectiveness involves the use of a number of scientific principles and research methods, theoretical and empirical. To achieve the goal, the scientific works of leading foreign and Russian scientists on the problems of digitalization of education, dehumanization of education, transformation of the role of the teacher have been analyzed, and our own research has been carried out on the basis of the Moscow Polytechnic University in the form of a survey. An assessment of the emotional consequences of isolation is given. Problem and goal. In the context of digital globalization traditional forms of communication at the university are forced to transform in order to meet educational objectives. However, the established practice of building communications in universities in new formats has revealed a number of problems of ineffective interaction between participants in the educational process. The article aims to identify the main features of the transformation of the forms of communication in distance learning at the university. Particular attention is paid to the conditions for the formation of an effective digital dialogue in the university-student-teacher triad. Materials and research methods. The study of the transformation of communication is considered from an economic, pedagogical, and philological (semiological) point of view. The economic approach includes consideration of resource constraints that prevent the development of various forms of communication in the educational space, and an assessment of the effectiveness of the communication process. The pedagogical approach allows to evaluate the technologies and formats of communication in online learning. The semiological approach is focused on the choice of techniques and schemes that are adequate to digital dialogue. The empirical research was carried out using the questionnaire. The survey involved 2–4-year students at the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin. Research results. In the 2020–2021 academic year, students were able to adapt to rapid inclusion in distance learning and the use of digital technologies, but half of the students prefer to return to the traditional format of education, 39% of students for a mixed (blended learning) format. It was found that if the verbal forms of communication when transferring the course content from the teacher to the students were not transformed taking into account the digital environment and online learning, then this could lead to unnecessary complexity for perception (according to 54.5% of respondents), the appearance of information noise, as a consequence, the appearance of discomfort (for 40% of the respondents) and attempts to avoid communication (for 18%). 52% of students indicated that their opinion about distance improved over time. Discussion and conclusions. The authors concluded that digital skills today mean more than digital literacy. In communication, it is important to develop new technologies, techniques and tools that are adequate to new educational and upbringing tasks. And in modern conditions, burdened by pandemic threats, other ways of digitalizing the university with the construction of effective communications are rather impossible.

п. The relevance of the article is due to the active transition to distance learning at the university. The article discusses the need to actively introduce the digital environment into the educational process at the university, as a factor influencing the motivation of students in the process of learning. The analysis of theoretical psychological and educational studies showed contradictory views on the digitalization of learning. Some works have negative aspects. Thus, when studying the attitude of university- teachers to the transition to distance learning, it was possible to identify a number of reasons for their lack of readiness for the widespread use of communication technologies. The study, with students of the 2-nd year of training in the field of education – pedagogical education, showed the following. Regardless to the training profile, the active use of computer technologies in distance learning increases the number of bachelors seeking to independently search for scientific information and applications; cognitive activity and creative decision-making in the professional field are developing. A more definite dynamic has been identified at FHIMO students. In order to develop a positive attitude towards distance learning, both teachers and students need to create modules for each subject studied. It should include: a series of audio and video lectures; methodical developments to create project activities in different educational portals.
