Globalization is a key reason why an organization outsources its activities or creates virtual teams to remain competitive in today's international market. Organizations are utilizing new technologies to become more efficient and employees frequently collaborate by using e-tools at work. Today´s workers are faced with a fast-paced work environment with frequently changing requirements and digital innovations. Keeping up with the development can be a challenge. Incorporating e-collaboration into the student learning process is, therefore, crucial to the modern learning environment as it prepares students to work in teams. This has become even more important now after the COVID-19. The pandemic has forced universities to go online at a record speed and the workforce to work from home. This study looks at the e-collaboration success, challenges, perception, and tools and delves into a quantitative study of graduate students who have been working on semester-long corporate projects in the information systems discipline.

Emerging technologies have always played an important role in armed conflict. From the crossbow to cyber capabilities, technology that could be weaponized to create an advantage over an adversary has inevitably found its way into military arsenals for use in armed conflict. The weaponization of emerging technologies, however, raises challenging legal issues with respect to the law of armed conflict. As States continue to develop and exploit new technologies, how will the law of armed conflict address the use of these technologies on the battlefield? Is existing law sufficient to regulate new technologies, such as cyber capabilities, autonomous weapons systems, and artificial intelligence? Have emerging technologies fundamentally altered the way we should understand concepts such as law-of-war precautions and the principle of distinction? How can we ensure compliance and accountability in light of technological advancement? This book explores these critical questions while highlighting the legal challenges—and opportunities—presented by the use of emerging technologies on the battlefield.

Faced with protecting the right to privacy and, with it, the inviolability of homes, the development of new technologies and the possibility of developing work from home has opened the door to a series of new conflicts that require us to provide a specific legal framework by which such situations can be addressed. In the Spanish case, we speak of Law 10/2021 from 9 July on remote working. The objective of this study is to assess the scope as well as the problems that this law generates during its application, regarding controlling the provision of services. However, we not only identify the incidental factors, but also provide a necessary reinterpretation of the right to privacy from the perspective of the inviolability of homes, especially when its current articulation may operate to the detriment of employees’ rights, as contradictory as this may seem.

Despite the huge number of studies on telework in 2020, the influence of socio-demographic characteristics of workers on their attitudes towards telework continues to raise questions. Researchers agree on some aspects, such as younger individuals being better at absorbing new technologies. However, given that not only those who wanted to but also those who were obliged to switched to teleworking, it appears that younger people may not be as effective at working remotely as previously thought. The relevance of our study is based on the contradictory findings of research conducted during the pandemic. With this article, we contribute to the accumulation of knowledge about the change that takes place in telework. The paper aims to examine the relationship between socio-demographic indicators and the evaluation of telework. Our study confirms that the gender and age of employees are important factors in an employee’s attitude to telecommuting. Mostly, the attitudes vary in terms of gender. At least in the case of Lithuania where the research was conducted, Millennial men, unlike other generations and significantly more than Millennial women, see personal career development problems working remotely. Meanwhile, older generations do not declare greater dissatisfaction working remotely, although they do not express much favour for this approach. The results of the study indicate that in the circumstances created by the pandemic, organizations should update their human resource management strategies to achieve employee work efficiency and maintain employee motivation. The practical implication of our study in terms of open innovation is that in the future, the development of virtual working relationships will need to focus not on the technological training of older workers but on the specific provision of feedback to younger workers. In this regard, our insights may be useful for leaders in human resource management and open innovation teams.

The adoption of digital communications, facilitated by Internet technology, has been among the most significant international business developments of the past 25 years. This article investigates the effect of these new technologies and the changing global business environment to understand how relational approaches to international market entry (IME) are changing in light of macro developments. Despite substantial resources in business practice dedicated to combining relational strategies in digital settings, this analysis of extant literature reveals that fewer than 3% of peer-reviewed research articles in the international marketing domain examine digital contexts. To address this gap, the authors assess 25 years of literature to provide (1) a description of the evolution of IME research; (2) a review and synthesis of pertinent literature that adopts relational, digital, and hybrid approaches to IME; (3) a taxonomy of IME strategies; and (4) directions for further research.

The concept of Occupational Health and Safety has become increasingly important as a result of increased industrialization and the development of new technologies all over the world. The basic philosophy of Occupational Health and Safety is to reduce the number of work accidents and to provide a healthier work environment for employees. The most risky sectors in the world are designated as mining, agriculture, forestry and construction. Markets are classified as "Dangerous Classes of Occupational Health and Safety" issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (ILO, 2004). When the risks are taken into consideration, marketing companies should perform risk analysis to ensure that hazards and problems will ocur. In this context, it is needed to provide and implement training on occupational health and safety regularly in order to protect against the identified risks. Periodic evaluations are performed at regular intervals that decrease in loss of life and property at marketing companies, both tangible as well as intangible losses will be reduced. The most common occupational diseases in the industry are mainly due to the non-compliance with the employer's obligation to provide appropriate training in the workplace. This is often performed only by signing training forms only formally. With this fact in mind, we analyze in this paper the occupational diseases in industry specific to Brașov County, presented in the reports of Brașov Labor Inspectorate, from 2005 to 2019. This study was conducted based on the number of occupational diseases due to silicosis, related to the total number of occupational diseases in Brașov County (study period between 2005 and 2019). Given the state of emergency generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to prevent the spread of this virus and to carry out activities using work from home, telework, and to avoid the interaction between workers as much as possible, online communication with employees is considered as being the only way that allows at the same time both the observance of the measures imposed to prevent the spread of the virus and the implementation of the obligations regarding training on occupational safety and health, which the employer has according to the laws in force. In this context, analyzing the values obtained from the experimental data (number of occupational diseases due to silicosis, related to the total number of occupational diseases in Brasov County) it is identified and solved in the paper the use of online environment, especially in remotely training the workers, who have the opportunity to receive training documents, analyze them, sign them electronically and send them to the employer in electronic format and in this way, being trained even in special situations.

The article discusses the development of the learning process in the new information society, the importance of using new technologies, their application in the learning process. It also emphasizes the importance of inculcating teachers’ knowledge and skills in the formation of the worldview of high school students using ICT tools, and notes that the application of new technologies in the learning process is an important feature of the modern learning process.

This article addresses the impact of the digital era and it specifically refers to information and communication technologies (ICT) in Public Administration. It is based on the international approach and underscores the importance of incorporating new technologies established by the United Nations and the Organization of American States. Thereon, it highlights the Argentine Republic national approach towards ICT, and how it has moved towards a digital paradigm. It then emphasizes on the challenges and opportunities that emerge from the impact that artificial intelligence has in transforming Public Administration. Finally, it concludes that the key challenge of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is to achieve a boost towards a Digital and Intelligent Administration and government, which promotes the effectiveness of rights and an inclusive technological development that assures the digital dignity of people.

Knowledge has become the most valuable resource of the new era and the resource of the future. The intention of this study is to improve knowledge about the problem of migration of educated people from Serbia from the perspective of scholarship holders who, after being abroad, returned to their country. The aim of this research is to show the profile of the scholarship holders of post-academic and post-graduate students, who studied abroad and then returned to Serbia. Their motives for departure and return, as well as their perception of integration into the work environment in Serbia and utilization of their knowledge is presented. Methods: For the purpose of this research a questionnaire was constructed which was distributed online. Collected data were analysed using statistical tools. Results: This research has shown that the primary motive for education abroad is the desire for personal development. It has also been shown that an important factor for the return of students from abroad is their expectation of comparative advantage in the labour market and their belief of getting a desired job. Apart from this, it is shown that the scholarship holders only partially used the acquired knowledge and thus, do not have enough influence in the development of their organizations.Conclusion: The main research contribution is reflected in the improvement of the knowledge about the motivation of scholars to return from developed countries and highlighted problems which scholarship holders have after returning.Implications and research limitation: the results obtained can be generalised to countries that are passing or have recently moved a transition, and are similar in cultural characteristics.  The present contains certain limitations that must be taken into account while interpreting final results. The most significant constraint is the sample size, but the obtained results, especially the motives of the scientific experts for a return to the country, are extremely important and can be considered the starting basis for further research.
