For accommodation service providers one of the main objectives is to obtain and maintain a higher degree of using of accommodation capacity in operation. Based on these considerations, the paper analyzes the evolution of the index of utilization of the accommodation capacity in operation in the development regions of Romania for a period of six years in order to reveal similarities and disparities between them. For this purpose, besides the analysis of the developments of the index of utilization of the accommodation capacity in operation, the evolution of dispersion spreading is also analyzed. Both the variability amplitudes of the two main indicators and their trend are analyzed. The conclusion of the study is the fact that in Romania, the dispersion of the index of the use of the accommodation capacity in operation had an increasing trend, which means that in terms of the ratio between demand and supply of accommodation, the disparities between development regions continue to grow with all the negative implications on the performance of the tourism industry in Romania.

Health/Medical tourism is a booming niche tourism market in the tourism industry. The main reason for the increasing trend is the high cost of treatment, long waiting time, less insurance coverage in developed countries and the attitude of people to spend holidays in a quality manner with the aim of improving health. In India, Kerala is emerging as a prime health tourism hub for its Ayurveda packages. The state attracts millions of foreign and domestic tourists to visit the state’s incredible heritage and experience the traditional nature based treatment therapies. The volume of tourist arrivals in Kerala had experienced a stupendous growth of 7.7 per cent in 2014 from 4.3 per cent in 2001 (Annual report of Tourism Statistics, Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala). This study aims to profile the tourists visiting Kerala for Ayurvedic treatment and to identify the destination image factors making Kerala an attractive place for Ayurveda health tourism. For this purpose, 150 domestic tourists availing Ayurvedic treatment in Kerala were selected on the convenience of the researcher. In order to analyse the objectives, the Descriptive Statistics, Factor Analysis and One-way ANOVA were employed and the results revealed that service quality, attraction, opportunity, benefits and promotion were the destination image factors making Kerala an attractive place for Ayurvedic Health Tourism. The present study identifies the strength of Kerala for Ayurveda health tourism which helps the destination managers and the service providers witha better understanding of the market for elevating Kerala and its Ayurveda in this niche market.Int. A digitalizáció hatása a turisztikai iparágra elvitathatlan mind a keresleti, mind a kínálati oldalt tekintve. A kérdések vizsgálatához egyrészt 13 szolgáltatóval készítettünk kvalitatív szakértői mélyinterjút, másrészt keresleti oldali kutatást végeztünk a helyi Turisztikai Desztináció Menedzsment Szervezet (TDMSZ) segítségével, mely során kérdőíves megkérdezésünkre 414 értékelhető választ kaptunk a 2019. évi Királyi Napok látogatóinak köréből. The impact of digitalisation on the tourism industry is indisputable on both the demand and the supply side. Typically, the booking of services and the interpretation of attractions have become the focus of online and digital solutions, but in the case of events, all of these solutions can play a role. It can also be seen that, in the life of larger cities, smart tourism applications are popular, but does this apply to smaller domestic cities and countryside destinations? The examination of all these topics is the focus of our present article, addressing the following research question: What can smart tourism mean in the case of Székesfehérvár and how can the demand for a smart event be characterized in terms of the Royal Days? To examine the questions, we conducted qualitative in-depth expert interviews with 13 key service providers, as well as demand-side research using a questionnaire with the help of the local Destination Management Organization (DMO), reaching 414 meaningful answers among visitors at the 2019 Royal Days.

One of the key challenges for tourism and hospitality in the Sub-Sahara Africa (SSA) region is currency behaviours and Exchange rate regime choices. When a company engages in international business foreign currency risk management becomes a crucial part of doing business and the tourism industry of Zimbabwe was not spared on this issue. The objective of this research was to assess the foreign exchange (forex) Exposure Management Practices by Zimbabwe's tourism and hospitality companies. The study was done through a survey on 28 operators in Zimbabwe. A qualitative research approach was adopted in analysis of the data It was found out that the most commonly used ways of reducing the exposure by Zimbabwe's tourism companies were the amicable and mixed-method approaches, of receiving the currency and use it in the country of origin to import materials, matching receipts and payments in foreign currency, risk shifting though it come with low volumes and compromised repeat business. The study recommended that companies and the entire economy must consider invoicing products and services in Rands and even use the rand as a reporting currency. If for example tourism and hospitality players would price regional tourists especially from South Africa and other Rand countries, ignoring the impact of rand depreciation, it would mean that Zimbabwe's tourism and hospitality providers will be in direct competition with the former's own local service providers based on rand priced packages.

The key elements that promote the recovery of rural tourism were discovered. Design/methodology/approach Based on the framework of institute analysis and development (IAD), this research selected six rural tourist communities in China as subjects for the studies. Based on the seven basic principles of hermeneutics and the inductive research method, following the analysis method of “first-order coding, second-order coding, aggregated dimensions,” the texts obtained through in-depth interview and work reports were analyzed and concepts were extracted. Findings The paper extracted 44 first-order concepts and 14 second-order concepts, and obtained 7 aggregation dimensions, including policy formulation and implementation, improvement of integrated marketing capabilities, improvement of tourism product quality, restrictions on rural tourism development, protection and optimization of environmental resources, industrial integration strategies and improvement of managerial and coordinating capabilities. During the pandemic, the government, enterprises and associations, as the service providers of rural tourism, can optimize the environmental resources and industrial resources of rural tourism by formulating policies, refining products and strengthening marketing in the action arena, to promote the industrial integration of rural tourism and provide better products and services for tourists. Despite convention tourism is becoming an important segment of the tourism industry in many countries, the specific benefits that convention attendees see valuable when attending conventions are inconclusive. Based on the consumption values theory, this study considers the impacts of two types of value: perceived value and value of co-creation on convention attendees’ attitude formation. Derived from a sample of 434 convention attendees and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis, results indicate that value of co-creation, together with another two dimensions of perceived value, emotional value and functional value, have significant influences on convention attendees’ attitude towards the convention attended. Particularly, it was found that perceived value by itself had limited effects in contributing the positive attitude towards conventions in the contemporary business world as consumers today are increasingly prefer co-creation of value and collaboration with service providers. The study contributes to the convention tourism literature by being the first to incorporate both perceived value and value of co-creation within the same model and testing related hypotheses. The results may facilitate decision-making and strategic development of tourism-related investments among convention organisers, destination marketing organisations and government agencies, which can eventually strengthen a country’s competitive edge in attracting convention attendees.
