A sudden pandemic has created a learning system in Indonesia, which is usually done face-to-face, in the New Normal era, online learning is required. This sudden incident turned the wheel of life and learning 180 degrees. This paper discusses the level of readiness of students and teachers in mathematics distance learning. The level of readiness includes ownership of electronic devices, availability of internet signals, costs, support from parents or people around, skills in accessing digital learning applications, learning places, teachers who can teach well, materials, teacher guidance, solutions if they encounter problems, abstinence give up, and be able to understand distance learning material. Data obtained from the results of questionnaires and interviews with students and teachers in Indonesia. The results of the analysis of the data obtained are that students and teachers are in the criteria of being quite ready to be very ready to carry out distance learning. From the results of questionnaires and interviews, both students and teachers prefer a mixture of distance and face-to-face learning, because when it is difficult to understand the learning material, the teacher can explain directly, more able to monitor the condition of students. The weakness of distance learning is that it is constrained by internet signals, no emotional bonds, it is difficult to monitor students' abilities and higher credit costs.

The Open Universities and Dual Mode Universities in India are catering millions of Open Distance Learners (ODL) through its chain of Regional Centres and Learner Support Centres (Study Centres) across the country. In order to improve the Gross Enrollment Ration (GER), the regulatory bodies should act as facilitator rather than the administrator or inspector. Today, Open Distance Learning (ODL) offered by the Open Universities and Dual mode Universities in India is at cross roads because of multiple control and regulation by several regulatory bodies of the Central Government. A new approach is needed by the regulatory bodies as well as the Govt. of India to remove obstacles put forth by various Regulations restricting the very access of open and distance learning to reap the demographic dividends in the country. This paper critically analyzes the aspects that affect the ODL being offered through Open and Dual mode universities. The paper also critically highlights the challenges being faced by the ODL institutions as well as the opportunities available to them. The paper also touching the latest global trends related to distance and digital learning.

Due to Covid19, measures have been taken to minimize interaction, maintain social isolation, and ensure interpersonal social distance. As a result of these decisions taken by the authorities, educational activities in Turkey were suspended at first. After some time, lessons were given in the form of distance learning on digital platforms. This research was carried out to evaluate the efficiency, positive and negative aspects of the distance learning system, and its shortcomings from the viewpoints of the students. 594 students, 139 of whom are from private universities, 455 of whom are from state universities, faculties of physical sciences and sports schools, participated in the study in the 2019-2020 academic year. In the research, a survey program known as “Web-Based Instructional Attitude Scale” was used to collect data for the purpose of the research. The data obtained at the end of the research was analyzed with the SPSS 22 statistics program and the significance level was taken as 0.05 among the variables. In order to get an idea about the distribution of the data, firstly the normality of the distributions, and then the skewness and kurtosis tests were examined. According to test results, Independent Sample T test was performed in binary comparisons, One-Way Variance Analysis analysis in multiple comparisons, and correlation test was used to determine the relationship between variables. According to the answers given by the students who participated in the study, although they now ensured that their education activities continue without disruption; It has been determined that the courses taught in the form of distance learning are not as effective as face-to-face education, they are insufficient in terms of efficiency for students, and technical problems in the system negatively affect students’ motivation to learn. As a result, no matter how practical the distance learning system is during times of crisis, it may not be as efficient as face-to-face education, and it requires more technical development and always be ready for use.

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced us to make habits that we never imagined before. This also triggers changes in the learning system from primary education to higher education. One of the changes in the education system is the distance learning system (PJJ). In this condition, teachers must quickly adjust the new policies issued by the government, namely by learning activities and teaching students from home to prevent the spread of COVID-19. One of the efforts to do so that learning runs effectively is the blended learning method. Blended learning combines computer and internet technology offered by online learning and face-to-face learning participation to provide the most effective and efficient experience. Using the correct learning methods, overcoming learning obstacles due to COVID-19 can be overcome. With the blended learning method, students learn independently, and teachers can continue to explain the subject matter using learning media such as the internet.

At present, people have a tendency to carry out higher education in a distance mode due to their busy lifestyles. However, open and distance learning (ODL) educational organizations encounter difficulties when delivering laboratory experiments. This paper presents the development of an online laboratory platform as a solution. It can be used to deliver laboratory experiments, using electronic components and instruments such as a signal generator and oscilloscope. Students are able to perform experimental tasks remotely utilizing real equipment and components. The system users can view laboratory environments via a camera which provides a sense of reality. The platform provides facilities to customize and rebuild the laboratory experiments according to the requirements of the organization. It can also be utilized as a useful educational tool to acquire pre-experience before entering the real laboratory. Thestatistical analysis shows no significant difference between the face-to-face laboratory (FFL) and online remote laboratory (ORL) experimental results within a 95% confidence level. The system can enhance the existing open and distance learning system by sharing the resources in a flexible manner. This system reduces the difficulties that distance learning students encounter when participating in FFL sessions. It also reduces the number of FFL sessions and is helpful to working students. One of the main objectives of ODL is to provide a learning environment for those who missed the opportunity for higher education for a variety of reasons. This system will help to achieve this objective.

COVID-19 pandemic has affected many sectors of life including education. Many countries had implemented the policy on distance learning. Distance education denotes the physical separation of the learner from the instructor, both by time and space. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) including online media are used to bridge the educators and the learners. The distance learning system forced the teacher to shift the traditional teaching method of face-to-face teaching to no-physical contact teaching in all stages of educations such as primary and secondary education, higher and vocational education, and special education. We found that teachers have been applied different strategies based on the unique challenges they faced. According to the COVID-19 situation, teachers from all stages of education have gathered all the solutions that could be applied. So that, it could help students to adapt to distance learning by transforming the traditional learning system to mandate distance learning system like nowadays when COVID-19 positive case could be controlled by contactless only.
