Attitude plays a very significant role in acceptance of any idea or innovation. Research has established the significance of computers and the attitude of headteachers which can either be a hindering or a facilitating factor for computer integration in education. To explore this phenomenon in a Pakistani context, this study was conceptualised, while the subsidiary aim was also to explore the relationship between demographic characteristics of the participants and their attitude. A survey questionnaire was adopted to gather data with a sample of 185 headteachers to assess the four perceived factors’ impact; educational, social, training needs and self-confidence. The results show that the participants’ perceived attitude towards computers in education is positive while their perceived social impact of computers and their self-confidence found to be lower than the educational and training needs. Correlation analyses revealed significant associations between the headteachers’ attitude and the use of computers and prior training. In sub-scales model, prior training contributes to the training needs’ model while use of computer, contributed to the self-confidence model.

The research aimed to identify managers’ conceptions of disability and the relationship that was established between these conceptions and their perception of the persons with disabilities (PWD) performance, bond, benefits of hiring, and training needs. 257 managers answered a questionnaire in order to identify conceptions of disability in organizations. Descriptive statistics, factorial analysis, and hierarchical analysis of grouping were performed while using IBM Statistic 20.0.0. The results show that managers who have the spiritual and the conception based on inclusion perceive the insertion of PWD as beneficial to the organization. Those who conceive disability as a question of normality perceive the PWD performance as inferior to those without disabilities, which implies that PWDs should be segregated; and, the managers who perceive disability as a social problem are likely to place PWDs in the workplace according to their potential. The results can be fruitfully used by managers, human resources’ professionals, academics, and the society to promote inclusion.

Introduction The aim of this scoping review was to examine and synthesise literature on adaptive equipment use for personal care and mobility after stroke. Method We searched databases including Medline, EMBASE, AMED, CINAHL and Scopus to February 2016. Two authors independently screened 789 titles, identifying 28 studies for inclusion in the review. Results Findings were grouped into four themes: (1) stroke-specific impairments and consequences for equipment use and training; (2) meaning of equipment for people with stroke; (3) cost of equipment after stroke; and (4) conflicts between equipment provision and models of stroke rehabilitation. Conclusion The wide range of impairments after stroke increases complexity of how people use equipment. Nonetheless, training needs and the relationship between social context, identity and equipment use are increasingly better understood,. The findings highlight a tension between practice that seeks to re-train function by ‘normal’ movement without equipment and restoration of function by using compensation strategies involving use of equipment. However, there is no evidence that compensation strategies impede recovery of physical abilities. High-quality evidence about costs of equipment after stroke, which could inform policy decisions, is urgently needed.

The aim of a study undertaken in Germany was to provide a comprehensive picture and a comparative analysis of existing and planned education and training facilities in relation to hazardous wastes, and to identify educational and training needs of personnel working at hazardous waste facilities or involved in the transportation of hazardous wastes. The educational level of management and supervisory personnel is high. Most operatives have completed little more than basic schooling and have not received any prior training in the handling of hazardous wastes. Training provision varies considerably between works. A high proportion of training is undertaken in-house by training-on-the-job. The educational background of most drivers of hazardous wastes (road transport) is limited to basic school education. A special certificate is necessary for drivers. Most training relates to hazardous substances in general and there is only little training relating to the specific problems of hazardous wastes.

Abstract The aim of this study was to analyze the practical skills of rhythmic gymnastics judges and to identify how their degree and experience influence the assessment of these skills. Sixty one rhythmic gymnastics judges participated in the study. A questionnaire was used for data collection. This tool was composed of 28 questions and divided into six categories: identification, experience, initial training, continuing education, skills and training needs. The results suggest that the most valued skills are those related to the sport´s technical parameters and the ability to adapt to any level of competition with self-confidence and self-assuredness. Significant differences were found regarding the variables for: the ability to communicate (p = 0.002) and for the ability to observe, identify and register performance (p = 0.005). The results showed that experience was not a decisive factor in assessing skills. This study thus presents evidence that rhythmic gymnastics judges must implement and optimise a set of skills that contribute to the effectiveness of the assessment process. These findings might help in the design of programs and training models that contribute to effective professional development.

Self-confidence is the belief in oneself and one’s abilities. It is developed when there is someone who help them and motivate them to believe themselves. Self-confidence is the positive result of self-esteem. Self-confidence can be learning and built through assistance. Assistance from someone can help students to improve their self-confidence and the insecurity to their selves will be gone. The researcher aims to assess if the close assistance can help develop the students’ self-confidence and cope up their difficulty in mathematics. The researcher used descriptive-correlation using a questionnaire and composed of 20 adapted questionnaire related to the study. 243 students answer the survey questionnaire in their respective classroom and after data gathered it has been analyzed using the weighted mean and Guttmann’s Lambda to determine the relationship between the close assistance and self-confidence. The study revealed that there is a significant relationship between close assistance and self-confidence which is the p-value is lesser than the alpha which means that assistance and self-confidence is correlated with each other. The researcher concludes that with the help of close assistance students’ difficulty decreases and self-confidence increases.
