In allusion to the contradiction between salt-and-pepper noise attenuation and image detail-preserving, a maximum-minimum filtering algorithm base on threshold is proposed in this paper. The gray values of the pixels in the filtering windows are given firstly. If the test pixel value is the extreme value of the filtering windows, this pixel is a suspicious noise point. And then sort the absolute value of the difference between the suspicious noise point value and pixels gray value in its neighborhood. Judge the pixel is a real noise point according to the average value of the middle two values in the difference sequence. The original gray value of noise point is determined by the maximum-minimum relationship between the pixel values of the neighborhood. If the pixel is not a noise point, its value is kept. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has greatly impact on signal to noise ratio and mean square error which retains more image details while making sure to remove noise.

ABSTRACT The cosmic microwave background (CMB) contains an anomalous cold spot with a surrounding hot ring, known as the Cold Spot. Inoue & Silk proposed that this feature could be explained by postulating a supervoid: if such a large underdense region exists, then the growth of matter perturbing around the spot might differ from the average value in the Universe and the differences might affect weak lensing analysis of peak statistics. To investigate environmental effects on halo number count and peak statistics, we used a publicly available ray-tracing simulation for a box size of 2250 h−1 Mpc on a side. We found that the number count for massive haloes towards the largest underdense region in the simulation decreases and the corresponding significance of the difference, based on a cosmic average, is ≥3σ. On the basis of the results of peak statistics analysis, the number of high peaks decreases with the decrement of massive haloes, but the number of low peaks increases with the lack of matter in the line of sight. The highest significance of the decrement in peak counts in large underdense regions is 5σ in the total signal-to-noise ratio. Our result implies that environmental effects on halo abundance and weak lensing peak statistic can be used to probe the presence and properties of supervoids.

Aiming at the problem that the quality of infrared image decreases due to the large amount of random noise in the process of collection and transmission of infrared image of electrical equipment, and the accuracy of automatic detection of electrical equipment decreases, based on the traditional adaptive median filter algorithm, the adaptive median filter is analyzed, which can filter only the salt and pepper noise below 25%. An improved mean adaptive median filtering algorithm is proposed to overcome the shortcomings of wave effect. Firstly, the filtering window is selected according to the decision setting condition, and then it is judged whether the K-mean value near the center point is a noise point, and if so, the window is increased, otherwise the average value is output. Finally, it is judged whether the value of the current pixel point is noise, and if so, the average value is output, otherwise, the current pixel value is output. The experimental results show that the algorithm can effectively filter salt and pepper noise and Gauss noise, while maintaining the image sharpness, and has good filtering performance on PSNR and MSE indicators.

Video segmentation has been done by grouping similar frames according to the threshold. Two-frame similarity calculations have been performed based on several operations on the frame: point operation, spatial operation, geometric operation and arithmatic operation. In this research, similarity calculations have been applied using point operation: frame difference, gamma correction and peak signal to noise ratio. Three-point operation has been performed in accordance with the intensity and pixel frame values. Frame differences have been operated based on the pixel value level. Gamma correction has analyzed pixel values and lighting values. The peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) has been related to the difference value (noise) between the original frame and the next frame. If the distance difference between the two frames was smaller then the two frames were more similar. If two frames had a higher gamma correction factor, then the correction factor would have an increasingly similar effect on the two frames. If the value of PSNR was greater then the comparison of two frames would be more similar. The combination of the three point operation methods would be able to determine several similar frames incorporated in the same segment

This article presents the results of studying the dimensional accuracy of the bases of complete removable prostheses made using a 3D printer and the traditional method. Bases of complete removable prostheses were made using an intraoral laser scanner iTero Cadent (USA) and a 3D printer Asiga Max UV (Australia). To study the dimensional accuracy of the bases of complete removable prostheses, we used the DentalCAD 2.2 Valletta software. The Nonparametric Wilcoxon W-test was used for statistical analysis of the obtained data. We found that the average value of the difference with the standard for bases made using digital technologies is 0.08744±0.0484 mm. The average value of the difference with the standard for bases made by the traditional method is 0.5654±0.1611 mm. Based on these data, we concluded that the bases of complete removable prostheses made using modern digital technologies (intraoral laser scanning and 3D printer) have a higher dimensional accuracy compared to the bases of complete removable prostheses made using the traditional method with a significance level of p<0.05 (Wilcoxon's W-test=0, p=0.031). Keywords: digital technologies in dentistry, digital impressions, intraoral scanner, 3D printing, ExoCAD, complete removable dentures.

The fitness-for-service codes require the characterization of non-aligned multiple flaws for flaw evaluation, which is performed using a flaw proximity rule. Worldwide, almost all such codes provide their own proximity rule, often with unclear technical bases of the application of proximity rule to ductile or fully plastic fracture. In particular, the effect of flaw dimensions of multiple surface flaws on fully plastic fracture of non-aligned multiple flaws had not been clear. To clarify the effect of the difference of part through-wall and through-wall flaws on the behavior of fully plastic fracture, the fracture tests of flat plate specimens with non-aligned multiple part through-wall flaws were conducted. When the flaw depth a was shallow with 0.4 in ratio of a to thickness t, the maximum load Pmax occurred at penetration of multiple flaws and the effect of vertical distance of non-aligned multiple flaws H on Pmax was not so significant. However, when flaw depth was deep with 0.8 in a/t, Pmax occurred after penetration of flaws and the effect of H on Pmax could be seen clearly. It was judged that the through-wall flaw tests were appropriate for discussion of the effect of H on Pmax and the alignment rule of multiple flaws. In addition, in order to clarify the appropriate length parameter to estimate Pmax of test specimens with dissimilar non-aligned through-wall multiple flaws, the fracture tests of plate specimens were also conducted. The effect of different flaw length on Pmax was discussed with maximum, minimum and averages of dissimilar non-aligned multiple flaw lengths. Experimental results showed that the maximum length lmax would be an appropriate length parameter to estimate Pmax, when the non-aligned multiple through-wall flaws were dissimilar.

abstract A possibly significant factor in application of an identification criterion such as MS:mb is systematic bias in mb magnitude estimates at small magnitudes due to a variety of factors. Magnitude bias is the difference in magnitude value, positive or negative, between an observed network-based magnitude value and the expected magnitude value if all stations of the network had detected the event at high signal-to-noise ratio. This paper constitutes a partial study of the general problem; it evaluates the bias effects expected from both conceptual and operational networks when using parameters for noise and signal levels and standard deviations derived from observations, and when correcting observed station mb values solely via a simple parameter station correction factor. The analysis shows that any bias effects on mb inherent in any operational or potential worldwide network are so small as to have negligible effect on use of an MS:mb discriminant.

It is shown that the replacement of a part of sulfur atoms with selenium atoms in a TlInS2 single crystal stimulates the formation of a single-phase state with a monoclinic structure (space group [Formula: see text]/[Formula: see text] in TlInS[Formula: see text]Se[Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text]). Irradiation with 2 MeV electrons and a fluence of [Formula: see text] electron/cm2 of powder TlInS[Formula: see text]Se[Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text]) leads to an increase in the crystallite size from 56.5 nm to 65 nm, which is most likely associated with a decrease in the interface. The difference between the surface morphology of the synthesized TlInS[Formula: see text]Se[Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text]) single crystal and the surface morphology of the TlInS2 single crystal is established, which consists in a decrease in the height and width of the roughness in TlInS[Formula: see text]Se[Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text]). Irradiation of a TlInS[Formula: see text]Se[Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text]) single crystal with electrons with a fluence of [Formula: see text] electron/cm2 does not lead to a change in the height of the tubercle on its surface, and the average value of its width increases more than ten-fold. The identity of the peaks in the Raman spectra of the TlInS[Formula: see text]Se[Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text]) single crystal before and after its irradiation with electrons with an energy of 2 MeV and upto a fluence of [Formula: see text] electron/cm2, along with the absence of a shift of the peaks, indicates the radiation resistance of the TlInS[Formula: see text]Se[Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text]) single crystal.

Unstable productivity analysis method was used to obtain the equivalent radius of 77 wells and the result shows that the equivalent radius ranges from 30 to 970m with an average value of 230m in McKittrick Hills. The difference range of the radius is mainly caused by varying formation properties, gas saturation, production time, etc. Permeability anisotropy changes the drainage from round to ellipse. The major axis and the minor axis of the ellipse are determined by the ratio of major and minor permeability. Current pressure distribution was obtained and was found to be consistent with the modified drainage results, which demonstrates that the unstable productivity analysis method is applicable in the study of gas well drainage radius. An interference well and an observation well’s model was constructed to study well interference quantitatively. When the well spacing is larger than 750m, the productivity will be reduced by 20%. The production rate of interference well is more sensitive to the cumulative production of observation well, when the production rate of interference well is below 16.8×104m3/d.
