The landscape industry has become one of the industries with higher resource and energy consumption, and the implementation of urban low-carbon landscape construction is of great significance to improve the ecological environment. In this study, the method of low-carbon landscape construction was studied from two aspects including the carbon source control and carbon sink, as well as both direct and indirect effect. The results showed that the low-carbon landscape construction can be controlled from five aspects including landscape planning, landscape design, low-carbon landscape technology, low-carbon landscape behavior and low-carbon policy. Through a series of low-carbon measures, carbon emissions can be controlled at a reasonable level during the urban landscape construction, which also promotes the sustainable development of urban ecological environment.

As current society’s reflection on the rapid development of motorization and increasing emphasis on the ecological environment, the study of walkable cities has become one of the key points of urban sustainable design. Creating a walkable city is an effective way to build a low-carbon and healthy city. With the development of cities, walkability concepts and theories are constantly being given new life, and research methods and design strategies continue to be updated. A city’s walkability and walkability index have become current research hotspots. Based on prior research on walkability and related urban policies, this study selects Coomera Town on the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia, as the research area because of Coomera Town policy regulations and environmental requirements. This study utilizes traditional qualitative and quantitative research methods, machine mining technology, and the deep learning big data analysis technology to conduct thematic design research in a real place. Its combines walkability evaluation with walkability design to construct a walkable city in a targeted manner. This provides a reference for related city design in the future.

The accuracy and precision of four mathematial models of varying complexity are evaluated by comparing their predictions to experimental data generated in carefully controlled laboratory experiments and to production logs obtained from the finishing trains of several Canadian, American, and European hot strip mills. The materials rolled are low carbon and HSLA steels; the models used are Orowan’s formulation with Shida’s flow strength and Ford and Alexander’s formulation with Shida’s flow strength; then both these formulations are combined with Ekelund’s flow strength equation. It is concluded that Orowan’s formulation with Shida’s flow strength relation is the most consistently accurate technique of analysis. Further, the behavior of HSLA steels is not well described by either Shida’s or Ekelund’s equations.

Cutting down global warming and reducing greenhouse gas emissions such as carbon dioxide are important global targets. Accounting for a third of global energy consumption, the building construction industry is an important target for carbon reduction. Campus buildings, of which there are a large number in China, differ from other building types, as they have noteworthy energy-use characteristics and technology selection requirements. This study identifies the carbon reduction technologies in Chinese primary and middle schools commonly used for energy and water conservation, and then evaluates their performance according to degrees of carbon reduction, maturity and economic suitability. Based on these three indicators, the study creates a three-dimensional evaluation model for the different technologies examined in order to obtain a selection ranking. The study offers guidance for project practice in the construction of primary and middle schools and helps to promote the development of the low-carbon campus.

The semiarid region of Pernambuco has a large water deficit, leading the population to explore groundwater resources such as alluvial aquifers. The state of Pernambuco also stands out for having the second-largest textile manufacturing center in Brazil. However, the direct discharge of textile effluents from the region's industries has intensified the negative impacts on water conservation and alluvial soils. This work characterized the sorption of Direct Black 22 dye (DB22) in two layers of alluvial soil in the Capibaribe-PE basin. Batch experiments (kinetics and sorption isotherms) allowed the evaluation of the retention potential and mobility of this compound in this environment. Sorption kinetics were verified for stirring times of 0.25; 0.5; 1; 2; 4; 6; 8; 10; 12; 24; 48 and 72 hours and the experimental data was adjusted to the first- and second-order kinetic models. The isotherm occurred with concentrations of 1; 5; 10; 15; 20; 32.5 and 40 mg.L-1 and experimental data was adjusted to the linear, Freundlich and Langmuir models. The sorption kinetics of DB22 was best described by the second-order model, while the Freundlich and Linear models properly fitted sorption isotherms for Layers 1 and 2. The organic matter contents and the cation-exchange capacity of the soil layers influenced the sorption of the dye. The superficial layer privileges dye retention phenomena, while in the subsurface layer dye mobility phenomena prevail.
