OHSMS has become the main part of the establishment’s lifeline and a prerequisite for its stability in the 21st century. There is a growing need for OHSMS, in its ability to solve occupational accidents and also to develop a robust relationship among the stakeholders. The mission of OHSMS has not been followed in the Nigerian construction industry. The study, therefore, explores the barriers to the development of OHSMS in the Nigerian construction industry. The study adopted a literature review of OHSMS and thereafter, 300 structured questionnaires were administered to the construction professionals in the built environment of the Nigerian nation’s Capital-Abuja. 247 of the administered questionnaires were returned, considered for the analysis of the study. The data were analysed with SPSS and excel. The findings of the study indicate that the lack of commitment of the government, inefficient regulatory authorities, and lack of expertise in the OHS activities are the major barriers to the development of OHSMS. The study recommends collaborative efforts from the construction organizations, employees, and construction professionals to support the government on the OHSMS.

Mechanical Safety is very important in safety production. Not only China, but all over the world, the machinery safety issues are still in study. Safety becomes more and more important nowadays. So, to ensure the mechanical safety is not ones responsibility but all society. Measures must be taken jointly by the government, social organizations, enterprises and technical institutes to maintain the machinery safe. Government should develop the safety standards, the same as certification for social organizations. For enterprises, they must ensure that mechanical products meet the safety requirements. Strengthen the safety management in production process is the responsible of technical institutes. Together through a series of measures to make the mechanical safety situation has a good development in China.

The adoption rate of new technologies is still relatively low in the construction industry, particularly for mitigating occupational safety and health (OSH) risks, which is traditionally a largely labor-intensive activity in developing countries, occupying ill-afforded non-productive management resources. However, understanding why this is the case is a relatively unresearched area in developing countries such as Malaysia. In aiming to help redress this situation, this study explored the major barriers involved, firstly by a detailed literature review to identify the main barriers hampering the adoption of new technologies for safety science and management in construction. Then, a questionnaire survey of Malaysian construction practitioners was used to prioritize these barriers. A factor analysis further identified six major dimensions underlying the barriers, relating to the lack of OSH regulations and legislation, technological limitations, lack of genuine organizational commitment, prohibitive costs, poor safety culture within the construction industry, and privacy and data security concerns. Taken together, the findings provide a valuable reference to assist industry practitioners and researchers regarding the critical barriers to the adoption of new technologies for construction safety management in Malaysia and other similar developing countries, and bridge the identified knowledge gap concerning the dimensionality of the barriers.

Production safety standards are the foundation of industry safety supervision, the basic requirements and measurement scales for production enterprises to achieve management standardization, onsite standardization, and operation standardization. They are the foundation for the construction and sanitary ceramics industry to consolidate safety management, improve the intrinsic safety of equipment, and strengthen personnel safety awareness, The implementation of the main responsibility of enterprise safety production and the necessary requirements for building a long-term safety production mechanism are also the basic work of safety development. This article mainly studies and analyzes the current situation of production safety in the construction and sanitary ceramics industry and the overall situation of the existing safety production standards in this industry. Summarized the necessity and urgency of implementing the production safety regulations of building and sanitary ceramics enterprises.

Oil and gas industry has higher standard of safety requirements in production unit due to its high-risk nature of products. Production safety management is the most important component of petroleum project management. With the integration of humanistic management, the smoothness of project operations and the safety of personnel, facilities and products are guaranteed. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the production safety policies in the aspects of humanistic management. Implementation of production safety and humanistic management protocols can effectively reduce the risk factors; thereby improve economic efficiency of oil and gas companies.

The work safety standardization of enterprises based on the traditional work safety theory has played a significant role in reducing the number of accidents and improving work safety to some extent in China. However, some problems are coming with the work safety standardization of enterprises developing constantly in China. On the one hand, it is not combined with the actual situation of the enterprise, lacking pertinence and specificity, these defects resulted that it is not integrated with original safety production management system of enterprise and make it difficult to carry out. On the other hand, there is a lack of systematic management methods for the work safety management system of enterprise, most of enterprises only pay attention to the inspection result rather than the process control. This means after the check of the government, many enterprises will relax to carry out the system. This paper puts forward a new method for optimizing the standardization management mode of work safety based on the Viable System Model(VSM), which can solve the defects of work safety standardization of enterprises management system. An optimization model of work safety standardization based on VSM was construct for explaining the process optimization and control of work safety standardization management. It can improve the connectivity between the enterprise and the government. The conclusion of this paper can provide reference for achieving the development and optimization of work safety standardization of enterprises in China.

OHSAS 18001 was proposed to promote an organisation manages occupational health and safety (OH&S) risks and further improved work operations. However, the positive efforts by the government of Malaysia to improve the implementation, use and acceptance level of OHSAS 18001 are still not remarkable. Hence, the objectives of this paper are to determine the level of acceptance and to establish the best alternative practice in implementing OHSAS 18001. Questionnaire surveys were used as the research method. It is hoped that the implementation of OHSAS 18001 can stimulate the atmosphere of safety culture towards sustainable construction in the Malaysian construction industry. The construction industry and the safety of workers in it is also related to the agricultural sector and its development. The construction industry is one of the most dangerous sectors in the world where employees relatively often suffer from accidents. The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of labor safety management systems in construction industry enterprises. The main goal of the study is to detect the most significant inconsistencies in the labor safety management system, to develop the necessary actions and activity, which ensure the elimination of inconsistencies or minimization of their consequences, and also provide an economic benefit for the company. Since the purpose of this study is to ensure that the construction company, knowing the most common weaknesses in the system, is preventive in dealing with these issues. The study methods used are secondary data analysis, case study and expert observations in ten companies that chooses to implement the OHSAS Standard. A total of 35 external audit reports were analyzed for the period 2008 to 2016. The study examines the role of labor safety management systems in construction industry enterprises. The study identifies the problems and influencing factors associated with implementation and maintenance of the systems. The work analyzes theoretical aspects of the safety culture, its development and choices of the labor safety culture in the organization. Requirements of labor safety legislation in the European Union are reviewed and how these requirements are integrated into Latvian legislation, and specifically in the enterprises of the reviewed sector. The most significant inconsistencies of the labor safety management system was identified and summarized in construction companies.
