Development of scientifically sound measures for the prevention of occupational injuries based on the analysis of data on occupational injuries, including fatal in the forestry sector of Ukraine, to identify the main causes of such injuries. Based on the analysis, it was established that the level of occupational injuries in the forest industry was in one of the first places among all sectors of the economy of Ukraine. A step-by-step decision-making process was used to develop an algorithm for making managerial decisions. It was found that the accidents occurred mainly due to violations of safety requirements by employees, lack of control by officials of forest enterprises over the organization of safe work and due to violations of the technological process. The study was based on actual statistics of the State Labor Service on occupational injuries in the forestry sector. It is stated that the situation around the enterprises of the forest industry cannot be radically corrected without the introduction of an effective labor protection management system with elements of assessment and management of industrial risks. The obtained theoretical conclusions, based on statistical data on occupational injuries, have been brought to the level of specific proposals suitable for practical use in the planning of preventive measures for labor protection in the field of forestry. The necessity of actualization and improvement of normative-legal acts in the field of forestry is substantiated. The adoption of the "Minimum requirements for the safety and health of workers in forestry and greenery" is justified, which will expand the scope, namely: legal relations will be regulated by the type of work, and not just apply to economic entities who carry out certain activities; it is proposed to introduce a "labor safety coordinator".

Abstract The global COVID-19 pandemic of 2020/2021 resulted in widespread impacts on the production & processing of animal proteins. Specifically, the U.S. pork industry was hit with multiple, long-term plant closures and slow-downs due to labor safety issues and availability, resulting in a backlog reaction felt throughout the live production supply-chain. Impact and timing differed by region and required variable strategies to address them. While some plants in the Western United States weren’t impacted until the latter stages of the pandemic and thus were attempting to add valuable liveweight, other regions, including the Midwest and Southeastern United States were experiencing moderate to severe reductions in processing capacity that created an accumulation of heavy animals and placed additional feed and ingredient demands on the feed mills. The backlog also reduced available space & disrupted the normal barn fill/empty cycles. While there was no way to prepare for these impacts, university & industry groups attempted to fill the knowledge gap with management and nutritional tools to address the issues of excess inventory, decreasing feed capacity, and supply-chain disruptions. Numerous approaches were employed, including altered grading strategies, sow breeding target reductions, double/triple stocking situations, and feed, ingredient, and nutrient manipulation meant to slow down growth rate and feed intake. Nutritional strategies included the feeding of low energy ingredients as well as low protein/high methionine diets designed to reduce the growth rate of both heavy and light animals. While several of these strategies resulted in moderate success, some resulted in additional issues including stress-related vices, ulcers, increased mortality, and sub-optimal carcass characteristics. Ultimately, continuous planning, coordination, and communication between the plants, feed mills, nutritionists, and production groups enabled a return to normalcy, and while we hope to never experience a pandemic again, we are left with knowledge that will improve the resilience of the U.S. pork industry.

Investment construction projects are implemented under constant changes, which forces managers to assess the uncertainty and risks they generate, to manage changes in their own activities and activities of construction organizations. The article describes the main methodological approaches to the development of a model of risks of investment construction projects in the field of labor safety and protection. The approach is based on the method of quantitative assessment depending on the level of processes being evaluated and data characterizing these processes. The proposed concept will make it possible to develop an algorithm and a computational and analytical model for the subsequent automation of the process of quantitative assessment of risks and the dynamics of their change on the basis of the information-digital system. For example, the Corporate Occupational Safety Management System, developed and used by NIPIGAZ JSC to manage occupational safety processes, ensure industrial and fire safety, environmental protection, will make it possible to put into practice the methods of predictive and operational risk analysis, increasing the efficiency of the investment construction project.

The article considers the directions of ensuring the safety of construction objects in the economic, ecological and managerial context. The authors noted that the lack of safety during construction work is a serious problem in this industry. The implementation of the safety program has always been one of the most successful measures to reduce the number of accidents in construction. However, it should be borne in mind that ensuring safety in construction should be based both on competent management of the construction project implementation and on the corresponding economic component, since labor protection management will be effective only if its system is based on coordinated actions of specialists in this field and is supported by appropriate financial costs aimed at financing measures to reduce the impact of negative factors affecting the process of ensuring labor safety on the construction site.

Mining operations in potash and salt deposits are complicated by gas emissions and gas dynamic phenomena. The analysis of a large number of gas dynamic phenomena and intense gas emissions at potash mines in Russia and Belarus allowed the authors to identify some patterns. In particular, it was found that the maximum number of gas dynamic phenomena occurs in the 7–10 year of operation of the mines. The purpose of the study is to analyze and identify available information on the influence of heliophysical and manmade factors on the state of rock massifs, which will allow purposefully predicting and preventing the manifestations of these factors, increasing labor safety and efficiency of mining enterprises. Research methods: methods of a full-scale mine experiment to determine the gas content of rocks and the gas content of workings, as well as analysis of statistical data. The results of the study showed that the analysis of data on 84 cases of gas dynamic phenomena at the mines of PJSC Uralkali revealed an increase in the volume of gas emissions from the developed lavas spaces at the mines of JSC Belaruskali as a result of a drop in barometric pressure on the surface. In conclusion, it can be noted that the combination of natural factors together with a powerful man-made impact on the environment creates certain prerequisites for disasters of various scales, ranging from destructive earthquakes to subsidence of mountain pressure, gas dynamic phenomena and intense gas emissions in mines and mines. The set of established patterns formed the basis for the development of a number of preventive measures that increase the safe working conditions of miners and the efficiency of mining enterprises.
