Nowdays, science and technology are growing in leaps and bounds; the social economy is also increasingly developing. However, our country’s rural economy is still backward represented by modest income growth and poor living standard of the peasants, which have become a serious problem to be solved in our country’s economy and society. To boost rural economic development can hardly do without financial support; insufficient rural financial support will hinder rural economic development. Only increasing the financial support of rural economic development could promote rural production, rural development and income of the peasants.

Considering the negative impact of mining on ecosystems in mining areas, the South African government legislated the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (No. 28 of 2002), to compel mining companies to restore the land affected by mining. Several studies have used remotely sensed data to observe the status and dynamics of surface mines. Advances in remote sensing along the cloud-based Google Earth Engine (GEE) now promise an enhanced observation strategy for improved monitoring of mine environments. Despite these advances, land rehabilitation at Richards Bay Minerals (RBM) is mainly restricted to field-based approaches which are unable to reveal seamless patterns of disturbance and restoration. Here, we illustrate the value of the trajectory-based LandTrendr algorithm in conjunction with GEE for mine rehabilitation studies. Our automated method produced disturbance and recovery patterns (1984–2018) over the RBM site. The study revealed that RBM has progressively been mining different portions of the mineral-rich coastal area after which restoration was undertaken. The duration of mining over each site ranged from 2 to 6 years. The LandTrendr outputs correspond with independent reference datasets that were classified with an overall accuracy of 99%; it captures mine-induced disturbance efficiently and offers a practical tool for mine restoration management.

Social economy has assumed a role of growing importance in these last decades, being seen by several entities and political agents as one of the pillars in a new sustainable economic model. Volunteer programs are multiplying, and greater coordination between the various involved actors is essential to guarantee that society's help reaches the people who need them. In this sense, a digital donation platform based exclusively on open source technologies has been proposed and developed, which simplifies the process of donation of goods to a set of causes created by social solidarity institutions. The application permits anonymous donations and allows the monitoring of the status of each donation by the donors. Additionally, usability was considered as a key element in the design of the application

Social-economic entities, such as village enterprises and cooperatives, have appeared in addition to social enterprises since the ‘Social Enterprise Promotion Act’ was enacted, and local governments have established ordinances to support them. However, the ordinances have not been generalised and applied as there is no specific definition of ‘Social Economy’ in the applicable parent Act - Social Enterprise Promotion Act. This research aims to revitalise the social economy in local cities and counties in Gyeonggi-do. Thus, the paper has conducted a comparative analysis of the characteristics of the local authorities’ ordinances. The study has identified complex problems of the local ordinances and suggests potential directions for further developments for the ‘Social Economy Ordinances’. The results of the exploration are as follows. Firstly, 27 out of 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi-do have established and implemented the ‘Social Economy Ordinances’; however, most of them have not specified ‘parent laws’ of the ordinances. Secondly, although, the definitions of ‘Social Economy Ordinances’ are varied in individual local governments in Gyeonggi-do, they have been using similar keywords. Thirdly, the target scopes of the policies under the current ‘Social Economy Ordinances’ operated by local authorities are inconsistent and incoherent in terms of the system of norm and effectiveness. Thus, the ordinances are needed to be collectively reorganised and modified when the Basic Act on Social Economy are enacted. Although the scopes of support are proper in terms of the system of effectiveness, it is necessary to improve the post-management sections for the policy of supporting the social economy.

Purpose Although there have been many discussions on the status and development of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), theory on how they survive is minimal. Little is known about how OEMs survive and upgrade to other business models, such as original design manufacturers (ODMs) and original brand manufacturers (OBMs), in emerging economies. The purpose of this paper is to extend the theory on the survival path of OEMs from the perspective of emerging countries by examining how OEMs survive cost pressures and upgrade to ODMs or OBMs. Design/methodology/approach Using a multi-case study method, this study analyzes the survival path employed by OEMs by examining eight firms in the Chinese toy industry. Findings This study shows that OEMs remain weak in the global toy industry chain due to labor costs. While some OEMs move to low-cost regions, others turn to OBM management, after transitioning through an ODM model, by investing in research and development and marketing. Originality/value This study explores the survival paths of OEM enterprises, showing that OEMs can first upgrade to ODMs and then to OBMs, or they can directly upgrade to OBMs. Shifting from OEM to ODM is an important step in the transition process, although the contract that OEMs have with their foreign partners does not change significantly.

Using sampling survey data from 20 representative villages, this paper analyzes the status of environmental pollution in mountainous and hilly rural area of Sichuan Province in China, and makes comprehensive analysis of environmental pollution factors of the research area based on BP neural network model. The result shows that there are about 60% of the villages investigated displaying environmental pollution of varying degrees. It also indicates that environment renovation measures conducted by government and labor out-migration are conducive to environmental protection in mountainous and hilly rural area of Sichuan, while the concentration of population and development of rural enterprise have negative impact on local environment. The influence degree of each factor in descending order is labor out-migration, environment renovation measures, concentration of population, rural enterprise development.

English
The fact that a close relationship exist between farmlands and agricultural activities bring about a consequence that efforts for improving farmers welfare cannot be based only on technological and institutional improvement. The improvement in farmers' access to farmlands will mostly determine the success of increasing the living standard of the rural society as a whole. The problem to be faced at present a however, that farmlands tend to be increasingly limited, due to competition with other uses of lands, whereas people working in the sector of agriculture is steadily, and absolutely increasing, resulting in an increasingly limited average proprietorship and control of land. This unfavourable condition could be attributed to the accumulated improper implementation of the development strategy which was not fully inclined to agriculture, by issuing various acts and regulations that enhance investors in having access to lands, including farmlands and lands under control of rural elders by tradition. Agrarian reform with the target to improve farmers' access to farmlands should be commenced by reforming the aforementioned acts and regulations. This in turn should be accompanied by improving the data base related to the status of lands which is presently in a chaostic condition, due to the multiplicity of institution handling the problems related to land status, which has created the main obstacle in implementing the agrarian reform in Indonesia. A political commitment of the government and legislative institutions is urgently needed for this purpose.
