Efficient transportation of cargoes from the point of the cargo traffic start to the final consumers can significantly influence competitiveness of logistics service that leads to the necessity of analysing the known approaches to substantiating the selection of the storing type (pile storage or rack storage) when warehousing single-piece cargoes. To formalize the problem of selection based on the analysis, the authors develop the model, which is suggested to use the quantity of the stored pallets with single item cargoes. The calculations according to the suggested mathematical model envisage intensive computations with repeated calculations; therefore the corresponding recursive algorithms are developed for this mathematical model. The corresponding recursive algorithms for the model are easily realized in the software product. The developed algorithms can be easily realized in the software product with graphic interface on the enterprises delivering logistics services to enhance their competitiveness.

The article analyses the factors influencing the efficiency of transport and logistics management of the industrial enterprise, which activates the need to determine the methodological tools for evaluating the effectiveness of transport and logistics services.  The purpose of the article is to analytically determine the methodological tools and justify its effectiveness in managing the transport and logistics system of the enterprise that will optimize the costs of transportation, warehousing and distribution in terms of growth of production and sales, optimization of inventories, stimulating  and positive financial results of the industrial enterprise.  The general theoretical and applied principles of using the tools for evaluating the effectiveness of transport and logistics services that will stimulate competitiveness and provide additional competitive advantages to the industrial enterprise are defined and formulated.  Our proposed evaluation method is based on the definition of integral parameters with the calculation of the formula of the geometric mean simple.  The integrated indicators obtained as a result of the calculations can be used to identify the logistics potential and assess the effectiveness of management of transport and logistics services of an industrial enterprise.Key words: management, transport and logistics service, industrial enterprise, logistics, service

Open logistics service platform based on computer evaluation system integrates the information resource of various logistics subsystem, utilizes analysis and evaluation function of information system to provide the best specific logistics solution for customer within the platform. In addition, the platform also updates the all the information by computer system in the logistic process and provides a appraise System in order to make the customer much easier to choose a better logistics servicer. This paper analyzed the open logistics service platforms functions and characteristics and established the target cost incentive model.

A Galton board is an instrument invented in 1873 by Francis Galton (1822–1911). It is a box with a glass front and many horizontal nails or pins embedded in the back and a funnel. Galton and many modern statisticians claimed that a lead ball descending to the bottom of the Galton board would display random walk. In this study, a new mathematical model of Galton board is developed, to further improve three very recently proposed models. The novel contribution of this paper is the introduction of the velocity-dependent coefficient of restitution. The developed model is then analyzed using symbolic dynamics. The results of the symbolic dynamics analysis prove that the developed Galton board model does not behave the way Galton envisaged.

With the expansion of consumer market and production scale, the effect of logistics in the enterprise management is also becoming increasingly prominent. But the individual enterprise's logistics system capacity is limited, can not meet the needs of production and consumption timely and the waste of resources in the operation process are the prominent problems in logistics management. This paper explored the logistics system integration ideas and workable solutions of production enterprise from integrated logistics system point of view.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the contribution of logistics service providers’ (LSPs) initiatives to disaster relief and how LSPs are engaged with humanitarian sector. In recent years, the importance of logistics services in disaster relief operations and the capacity of LSPs to improve humanitarian supply chain management have become an increasingly interesting topic for both professionals and academics. Design/methodology/approach This research follows a qualitative approach based on multiple case studies. Findings The current research, after considering the differences and similarities among collaboration, cooperation and coordination and underlining how crucial these mechanisms are in the humanitarian context, explains the contribution of LSPs to relief operations alongside humanitarians. Research limitations/implications There has been increased interest in humanitarian logistics on the part of international academic and professional communities. This study constitutes a first exploratory step in the research to build a platform for benchmarking analysis of logistics services that aims to ensure the effective implementation of social responsibility principles. Practical implications The managerial implications arising from the research offer a range of current responsible actions from which strategic and operative directions to contribute can be derived. Originality/value Humanitarian logistics represents a crucial field in logistics management. This paper addresses the innovative socially responsible initiatives undertaken by the main international LSPs in the area of humanitarian logistics.

Jamming is a malicious radio activity that represents a dreadful threat when employed in critical scenarios. Several techniques have been proposed to detect, locate, and mitigate jamming. Similarly, counter-counter-jamming techniques have been devised. This paper belongs to the latter thread. In particular, we propose a new jammer model: a power-modulated jammer that defies standard localization techniques. We provide several contributions: we first define a new mathematical model for the power-modulated jammer and then propose a throughout analysis of the localization error associated with the proposed power-modulated jammer, and we compare it with a standard power-constant jammer. Our results show that a power-modulated jammer can make the localization process completely ineffective—even under conservative assumptions of the shadowing process associated with the radio channel. Indeed, we prove that a constant-power jammer can be localized with high precision, even when coupled with a strong shadowing effect (σ ≈ 6 dBm). On the contrary, our power-modulated jammer, even in the presence of a very weak shadowing effect (σ < 2 dBm), presents a much wider localization error with respect to the constant-power jammer. In addition to being interesting on its own, we believe that our contribution also paves the way for further research in this area.

Global competition between companies is becoming increasingly stringent, resulting in companies having to understand their customers better. Customers no longer only need quality products, but also need excellent and timely service. To meet the desires of these consumers, the company must create an effective and efficient work system. PT IJS is a warehouse engaged in logistics services in the Perak area of Surabaya. One of the services provided by PT IJS is bonded warehouse logistic services. A bounded warehouse owned is currently not able to provide maximum service because there are still many late deliveries that do not send goods to the port, and there is a closing time that is detrimental to the customer. The length of the delivery process is due to several factors, one of which is a less effective warehouse layout. Travel time is the time required for a vehicle to carry out activities loading goods PT. IJS from arrival to exit the warehouse. The method weighted distance is a mathematical model used to evaluate the layout based on proximity factors. The design of the layout design by using the technique weighted distance produces an alternative layout that shows calculation travel time a shorter
