In this article, through changing the parameters of the slenderness ratio lambda and axial compression ratio of n, the eight experimental study of steel tube concrete bending members with circular cross section. To explore different slenderness ratio of lambda concrete-filled steel tube under low cycle loading, the damage form of artifacts, deflection change, the relationship between the load and strain, load (P) and displacement (Δ) curve, the axial deformation and stiffness degradation curve, displacement ductility coefficient and the change of parameters such as energy consumption, thus further elastic-plastic seismic response analysis of concrete filled steel tubular structures. Got by test data of load P - displacement Δ relation curve and stiffness degradation curve, the displacement ductility coefficient, the total energy consumption. To get round steel tube reinforced concrete member seismic performance is good, the ductility damage.

This study was conducted to experimentally investigate the behavior of recycled concrete-filled circular steel tube (RCFST) columns subjected to cyclic loading. Ten specimens were prepared and tested. Four parameters were used to characterize seismic behavior: the replacement percentage of recycled coarse aggregate, slenderness ratio, axial compression level, and steel ratio. A novel calculation method for the bearing capacity for RCFST columns is established. The failure processes and modes of RCFST columns are found to be similar to normal concrete-filled steel tube columns. Varying the replacement percentage of recycled coarse aggregate has little effect on the hysteresis curves of the RCFST columns. The RCFST columns also show seismic performance similar to that of concrete-filled steel tubes. The displacement ductility of all specimens is larger than 3.0 and the equivalent viscous damping coefficients corresponding to the ultimate load range from 0.305 to 0.460.

In order to acquire the seismic performance of three different types of nodes between the concrete frame and the light steel adding storey, the pseudo-static tests were carried out to analyse contrastively these specimens’ failure modes, stiffness degradation, hysteretic curves and energy dissipation. The test results showed that : Three nodes’ destruction were due to the plastic hinges emerging at the end of beam; both encased steel and carbon fiber strengthening method can improve the seismic behavior, and in terms of the ultimate bearing capacity, energy consumption ability, the encased steel strengthening one can improved more significantly, and the encased steel one can effectively slow down the speed of stiffness degradation.

The improvement effect of the external concrete to stability of the core steel-tube was demonstrated by the steel-tube replacement ratio through experimental study. The test results show that, with the steel-tube replacement ratio increasing, the ultimate bearing capacity of composite columns increased correspondingly, and the ductility of composite columns was improved obviously also. Therefore, the steel-tube replacement ratio should be involved in the formula for calculating the ultimate bearing capacity of composite columns. By finite element method and regression analysis, the slenderness ratio is amended by the steel-tube replacement ratio and the calculation results of the eccentric compression bearing capacity agreed well with the test results.

An investigation of the octagon-shaped concrete-filled double skin steel tubular columns which used PVC-U pipe to replace the steel tube as inner tube was carried out. In order to study the performances and mechanisms of the components when suffered axial load, ultimate axial bearing capacities of 9 components were tested. The cross-sectional size of the outer steel tube and inner PVC-U pipe and length of the specimen was concerned by the nominal steel ratio and the hollow ratio and slenderness ratio, respectively. The external steel tube and core concrete appeared three and four types of destruction phenomenons, respectively, but the inner PVC-U pipe did not destroy. Finally, experimental results and numerical analysis results were comparied.

Experiments of a piece of comparable block wall and five pieces of block walls with different constructional type subjected to low reversed cyclic loading have been conducted. Investigation has been made on the failure pattern, hysteretic loop curves, displacement-restoring capacity and displacement ductility of walls. The experimental results revealed that the seismic performance of block masonry walls, which used the constructional column and concrete strips, was improved remarkably. It set a sound basis for further analysis research and engineering practice on AAC load-bearing walls in the future.

Experimental study has been carried out on the seismic performance of SRC-RC transfer columns. The effect of extension length of shape steel has been analyzed. Degeneration of bearing capacity becomes much more obvious when extension length of shape steel increases and failure patterns change from shear failure to bond failure. Displacement ductility changes with increase of the extension length of shape steel, enhancing at first and then reducing, reaching peak value when extension length of shape steel gets close to three-fifths of column height. But extension length of shape steel has little effect on the bearing capacity of transfer column. Although double stirrups are arranged at the location of shape steel discontinuous, strain of stirrup at this position is still much higher than anywhere else.

Concrete filled steel tube (CFST) got a good application in actual project. In order to further the seismic performance of the CFST, experiment was carried on two 1/5 scale models, which included one CFST frame, one CFST truss. Based on the experimental study, load-carrying capacity, stiffness, ductility, hysteretic property, energy dissipation and failure phenomena of each model were analyzed. The study shows that the seismic performance of CFST truss has high bearing capacity, stiffness, energy dissipation capacity and good ductility.

This paper presents analysis to evaluate the efficiency of cable restrainers (CRs) stiffness on the seismic performance of curved viaducts combined use of steel stoppers at spatial multipoint. Based on the modified Hertz-damp model, considering the energy consumption the pounding phenomena at steel stoppers was exactly simulated. Considering the elasto-plastic constitutive model and shear stiffness, CRs were also modeled. The time history analysis method is used in this analysis, considering the geometrical and material non-linearities. The uniaxial yield criteria and kinematic strain hardening criteria are adopted. The constant average acceleration method is used for the dynamic response analysis. The results show that CRs combined with steel stoppers could mitigate the pounding forces at steel stoppers, displacements of the superstructures and the curvatures at pier bases by reducing the vibration difference between superstructures. The application of CRs with high stiffness can mitigate viaduct damage in earthquakes.
