Building engineering in China is divided into civil building and industry building. Civil building engineering includes residential building and public building. There are many types of public building: shopping malls, office buildings, hotels and so on. In this thesis, architecture test and investigation are processed for the large public building such as hotel type, which focus on its characteristic features of energy consumption. Then energy conservation schemes are propounded and applied in real buildings.

The energy consumption of per unit area in public building are larger than the residential building in China, and the energy-saving reconstruction for existing public building is less than the residential building at present, so it also have great potential and space of energy conservation. This paper based on the feature of climate and energy consumption of existing public building, formulated the evaluation principle of energy-saving reconstruction technology, put forward from economy, energy-saving effectiveness, advance and combination property of technology to determine the design method to energy-saving reconstruction, to select appropriate technology. At last, this paper through a case building---a teaching building in Xi'an to analysis how from specific problems to apply appropriate technologies in northern area.

The continuing importance of energy conservation in the building sector has drawn major attention to energy audits of existing buildings in different climates. In this paper, the energy conservation potential of a residential building located in Iran’s cold climate was investigated through an analysis of its actual energy consumption and through computer simulation. The building base-load was determined using a linear regression method based on existing energy bills, and was used to validate the computer simulation of its energy usage. The impact of typical energy saving solutions was evaluated for three cost refurbishment scenarios: low, medium and high. The results show that the existing construction and envelope materials fail to meet the national standards of Iran, but insulating the envelope was found to be a more cost-effective measure than modifying the windows. The results also demonstrate that although the use of energy-saving solutions has a significant impact on energy consumption, even the most economic solutions investigated will have a payback period longer than one decade. Thus, with current energy prices the reviewed energy conservation strategies are not economically justified in Iran from the consumer perspective, as investment in the methods considered typical in other parts of the world will not show a return for at least a half-century.

Determination of buildingenergy consumption index is important for building energy saving.This paper simulits energy consumption of fifty public building(incluiding 15 non - government office buildings, 11 government officebuildings, 12 shopping malls, 12 hotel buildings) after abandoning theunreasonable design and operation factors. We can obtain the building total energy consumption index andpartial energy consumption index.Then all types of building energy consumptiondata are processed with the method of mathematical statistics.We can get fourtypes of biuding energy consumption index and partial energy consumptionindex.This study can provide the basis for energy-saving operation andenergy-saving reformation.

Aim at the current situation of high energy-consumption of the large public building,proposed a WebAccess–based energy-consumption management and energy-saving analysis system.And it be used Zigbee distributed energy consumption measurement net for data remote transmission. The status of energy consumption in the future can be predicted through energy-consumption databases and energy-consumption models were built. The system can real time monitor and manage the energy-consumption status in large public constructions. It can provide a favorable foundation not only for energy conservation and reformation of those completed large public building, but also for energy conserved operation and supervision of those new constructions. This can help to achieve the goal of energy conservation and energy-consumption reduction in large public building.

This research evaluates the operational heating and cooling energy consumption of cross-laminated timber (CLT) office buildings in China. The evaluations involve a comparison of the energy consumption of a reference RC structure and CLT system office buildings. Computational simulation results are based on IES-VE 2019 and show that the estimated heating energy saving ratio of CLT buildings in Harbin, Beijing, Shanghai, and Kunming to the reference structure are 11.97%, 22.11%, 30.94%, and 23.30% respectively. However, the CLT buildings consume more energy for cooling in the summer. The results of the research show significantly higher heating energy reductions for CLT buildings in the Cold Region and Severe Cold Regions of China. Thus, the application of the CLT system is better suited to northern China than southern China. The results of the research can be used in further assessment of the use of CLT systems in different climatic regions in China.

In this paper, the software of DeST was used to simulate the heating energy consumption by the year of a typical energy-saving residential building in the city of Changchun. Comparing the energy consumption of the top and bottom,the middle room and the edges rooms ,we get the reasons for the uneven heating and put forward the corresponding solutions, which provide the reference for heating system design.

Purpose Electrochromic window (ECW) has been gradually applied to building engineering in recent years. However, empirical study of this technology used in green building design is still lacking. This study aims to verify the lighting and energy-saving performance of ECW under a specific geographical environment. Design/methodology/approach The meditation pavilion of Jinwan new materials research institute in Zhuhai is taken for research object. Three kinds of sun-shading techniques, namely, ECW, Low-E window and ordinary glass window, with same specifications are selected as the building facade structure for simulation. Day lighting analysis, sun-shading performance and annual energy consumption are separately simulated in the same environment by the Autodesk Ecotect Analysis software. The energy-saving performance of ECW is obtained by comparisons. Findings Result shows that the shading performance of ECW is much better than ordinary window and Low-E window. When ECW is used in the east, west or top lighting interfaces of a building, about 40% of the total solar radiation can be reduced during daytime in summer. Taking the ordinary glass window as a basic reference, ECW can save about 90% of the annual energy consumption of the glass house. ECW can effectively reduce the annual refrigeration energy consumption of buildings in the subtropical region. Practical implications Reasonable use of ECW in the subtropical region can effectively reduce the annual energy consumption of buildings. Originality/value It is a precedent study to analyze the lighting performance and energy consumption of a glass house with ECW. The energy-saving characteristics and beautiful appearance of ECW shall make it a future green building technology.

High energy consumption is an important issue affecting the operation and development of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). This paper seeks energy-saving opportunities from three aspects: energy application, process optimization, and performance evaluation. Moreover, effective energy-saving can be achieved from the perspective of energy supply and recovery by using green energy technologies, including wastewater and sludge energy recovery technologies. System optimization and control is used to reduce unnecessary energy consumption in operation. Reasonable indexes and methods can help researchers evaluate the application value of energy-saving technology. Some demonstration WWTPs even can achieve energy self-sufficiency by using these energy conservation technologies. Besides, this paper introduces the challenges faced by the wastewater treatment industry and some emerging energy-saving technologies. The work can give engineers some suggestions about reducing energy consumption from comprehensive perspectives.

In this paper, the Unicom's medium-sized IDC room in a city of northern China is the research object for the study. Based on field research of the room refrigeration conditions, data center room air conditioning system is carried out to optimize and for energy conservation research. Through the analytic methods of energy saving-technology, the best energy saving solutions is explored.
