Experiments were carried out to study the adsorption kinetics of grape seed procyanidins onto macroporous resin HZ818 from aqueous solutions.The effects of temperature,initial concentration and agitation on the adsorption kinetics have been investigated.Both the Lagergren-first-order equation and intra-particular diffusion model were used to describe the adsorption mechanisms. And the adsorption process were affected both by film diffusion and by intra-particle diffusion.The intra-particle diffusion rate constants increase with an increase in temperature,initial concentration and agitation speed.

Remediation of crystal violet (CV) dye aqueous solution was attempted using acid activated raphia hookeri seeds (AARHS) as adsorbent. Adsorption equilibrium and kinetics of CV dye uptake onto AARHS were examined in series of experimental runs, and effects of contact time and initial CV dye concentrations were investigated at different solution temperatures (303 K, 313 K and 323 K). Equilibrium and kinetic data modeling of the adsorption process was performed using selected theoretical methods. Four different forms of Langmuir (type I, II, III and IV) and Freundlich isotherms were considered for fitting the equilibrium data while zero order, first order, pseudo-first order (PFO), second order, types I, II, III and IV pseudo-second order (PSO) and intra-particle diffusion models were selected to describe the kinetics of the adsorption process. Error functions including coefficient of determination (R2), root mean square error (RMSE), chi square (χ2) and average relative error (ARE) were employed to reveal model of best fit. Results obtained from error value computations show that the equilibrium data best followed Freundlich isotherm, which indicates multilayer adsorption of CV dye onto AARHS. The calculated Freundlich’s adsorption intensity values at different temperatures reveal the favourability of the adsorption process. PSO type I, II and IV best fitted the kinetic data compared to other investigated models. Intra-particle diffusion plots depict that the adsorption process of CV dye onto AARHS is a two-step process and also, intra-particle diffusion is not the only rate-limiting step.

The adsorption kinetics of strong alkaline anion exchange fiber for Cr (VI) from aqueous solutions was investigated. The adsorption was a fast process. Kinetics data for adsorption of Cr (VI) from aqueous solutions were in good agreement with the pseudo-second rate equation within an initial concentration range of 50-500 mgL-1. Both the equilibrium capacity and initial adsorption rate increased with an increase in Cr (VI) initial concentration. The adsorption process had combined control by chemisorption and physisorption, including film diffusion and intra-particle diffusion.

A comparative study of chemical stability of terfenadine (TER) and itsin vivometabolite fexofenadine (FEX) was performed. Both TER and FEX were subjected to high temperature at different pH and UV/VIS light at different pH and then quantitatively analyzed using new validated LC-UV methods. These methods were used to monitor the degradation processes and to determine the kinetics of degradation for both the compounds. As far as the effects of temperature and pH were concerned, FEX occurred more sensitive to degradation than TER. As far as the effects of UV/VIS light and pH were concerned, the both drugs were similarly sensitive to high doses of light. Using all stress conditions, the processes of degradation of TER and FEX followed the first-order kinetics. The results obtained for these two antihistaminic drugs could be helpful in developing their new derivatives with higher activity and stability at the same time.

Dry waters with an average diameter of 82 μm were prepared by a high speed mixed route. The formaldehyde absorption kinetics of dry waters was investigated by simulating indoor formaldehyde pollution in glass chamber. The results showed that pseudo-second order model could be used to simulate the adsorption process; the adsorption rate was highest in the initial 60 minutes; when the adsorption lasted for 180 minutes, the adsorption reached equilibrium.

Investigated the sorption kinetics of methylene blue on spherical chitosan resin. Studied the influences of ionic strength, pH, initial concentration on the adsorption process. The adsorption of methylene blue increases with the decreasing ionic strength and the increasing pH and the initial concentration of the system. Furthermore, the adsorption process correspondes with Lagergren pseudo-second kinetic equation and the finess (R2) of the model was above 0.99.

Plasma method is used to synthesize manganese ferrite. The basic properties of ferrite are determined by IR spectroscopy, UV spectroscopy, X-ray phase analysis, vibration magnetometry. The paper shows that the use of magnetically controlled sorbent allows to purify waste waters from chromium (III). The process of adsorption of chromium cations (III) is investigated. The kinetics of the process is studied. To describe the equilibrium isotherms, the experimental data are analysed by the models of Langmuir, Freundlich isotherms. Pseudo-first order, pseudo-second-order, and Weber-Morris are used to elucidate the kinetic parameters and mechanism of the adsorption process. It has been established that the removal of Cr (III) cations is described by the pseudo-second order of the Langmuir reaction and mechanism.

The adsorption properties,including the adsorption isotherms,thermodynamics,of grape seed procyanidins onto macroporous resin HZ818 are investigated.Both the Langmuir and Freundlich equations can provide a good fit to the adsorption isotherms, which indicates an endothermic and a favorable process in our study.The capacities of the adsorption increase with temperature. The negative values of ΔG and values of ΔH lower than 40 kJ/mol indicate a spontaneous physical adsorption, and the positive values of ΔS show the increased randomness at the solid/solution interface during the adsorption process.

The adsorption kinetics of purple cabbage pigment (PCP) on LSA-21 macro porous adsorbent resin were studied at different adsorbent resin concentrations (1, 2, 4, 8 g adsorbent resin per liter of purple cabbage extraction solution) for the temperature range of 20~50°C. The results showed that the adsorption of PCP in purple cabbage extraction solution onto LSA-21 macro porous adsorbent resin is highly in agreement with both Langmuir and Freundlich models. Heat of adsorption (ΔH) value of 11.976 kJ/mol indicates the endothermic adsorption process. A decrease of Gibbs free energy (ΔG) with temperature increase also indicates the spontaneous nature of the process.

Research on the equilibrium and adsorption kinetics of methylene blue dye using tannin gel from the Tingi tree (Ceriops tagal) has been carried out. This study aims to determine the capacity and adsorption kinetics of tannin gel against methylene blue dye. Several parameters, such as the effect of contact time, pH, and methylene blue dye concentration on adsorption, were also studied. Based on the research results, the optimum adsorption process is a contact time of 30 minutes and a pH of 7. The adsorption capacity increased to a concentration of 80 mg/L with a maximum adsorption capacity (qm) of 49.261 mg/g. The adsorption process follows the pseudo-second-order adsorption kinetics model and the Langmuir isotherm model.
