Lanthanum molybdate powders were prepared by sol-gel using lanthanum nitrate, ammonium molybdate, citric acid as the main raw materials. The prepared powders were characterized by XRD, SEM, BET and other methods. It is concluded that the best sintering temperature was 550°C, the aging time was 1h and the best ph value was 1.5.

Lanthanum aluminate powders were synthesized by sol-gel process with metal nitrates as raw materials, 2-methoxyethanol/water as solvent and citric acid as chelating agent. The influence of this techniques (the amount of citric acid, pH value, calcination temperature and the ratio of 2-methoxyethanol/water) on the lanthanum aluminate powders were studied. The XRD shows pure LaAlO3 powders could be obtained after calcining at 600-900 °C. The SEM analysis indicates that the LaAlO3 particles are uniform and nanosized with a range of about 40-70 nm, which is slightly larger than the estimated particle size using Scherrer formula.

KNN-BF piezoelectric ceramics synthesized by sol-gel method in this experiment. By controlling bismuth and iron content in the system to study effects of them. We selected citric acid as metal chelator and ethylene glycol as esterification agent. PH maintained 5-6 during preparation of the sol. Sintering temperature of ceramic selected 1100°C. Preparation ceramics under these conditions and comparative analysis, the structure of ceramics is single perovskite and shap of crystals are square block. With the increase of x, properties of ceramics firstly increases and then decreases: d33, εr, Qm, Kpreaching the maximum, values of them were 136pC/N, 630(f =1KHz), 212, 0.41 respectively; dielectric loss to minimum is 0.07(f =1KHz); at this point, ceramics had best performance.

TiO2 films were prepared by sol-gel method with butyl titanate, anhydrous ethanol, acetyl acetone and hydrochloric acid as raw materials, which were sintered at 380 °C and 530 °C respectively to obtain TiO2 films. XRD was used for analyzing the crystal structure of TiO2 film, and ImageJ software was used to detect the light transmittance of TiO2 film samples. The results show that the film sintered at 530 °C is brookite structure and the film sintered at 380 °C is anatase structure. The increase of sintering temperature is not conducive to the growth of TiO2 film grains. TiO2 films sintered at 380 °C have good light transmittance.

Hydrotalcite-like compounds are a class of anionic lays or layed double hydroxiods (LDHs) which consists of alkalescence, anion-exchanges and memory effect. The synthetic methods of LDHs include coprecipitation, hydrothermal synthesis, mirowave radiation, ion exchange, sol-gel method, roasting reduction method, instant synthesis, etc.The molar ratio of raw materials, pH value, reaction temperature, reaction time and so on have a greater impact on the purity and crystallinity of the LDHs.

In this paper, we made the nano-TiO2/glass composite electrode through the sol-gel method by using tetrabutyl titanate and anhydrous alcohol as the raw materials and the ITO conductive glass as the carrier. With the help of the photoelectric catalytic effect of TiO2 and the strong oxidation of Na2S2O8 as well as the computer application technology, we decomposed rapidly of the organophosphorous compounds and detected the total phosphorous (TP) on-line accurately. And then we characterized the TiO2 particles by SEM and analyzed the factors which influenced the decomposition and detection of TP by this method. The results show that the optimum experimental conditions of this method should be as follow: the concentration of Na2S2O8 is 0.03mol/L, UV illuminating time is 10 min, electrode voltage is 8V and the pH value should be in the alkaline zone. At last, it is validated the method is reliable and accurate for the decomposition of the organophosphorous by the recovery experiments and the comparative experiments between this method and national standard method.

Using tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and novolac-PF as raw materials, SiO2/PF hybrid fibers were prepared via sol-gel associated with drawing process, and then sintered at different temperatures (500-1300 °C) under air atmosphere. The microstructure variation and reaction mechanism of the fiber were investigated by FT-IR, XRD, and SEM measurements. The results showed that the microstructure variation of the hybrid fiber was influenced greatly by sintering temperatures. When the sintering temperature was below 900 °C, the fibers were amorphous, and converted into porous SiO2/SiC fibers after being sintered at 1300 °C.

Leucite has been widely used as a constituent of dental ceramics to modify the coefficient of thermal expansion. This is most important where the ceramic is to be fused or baked onto metal. However, its physical property was unpredictable since it was sensitive to several parameters such as sintering temperature and concentration of raw materials. In this research study, leucite ceramic particles were synthesized by in-house sol-gel process. The morphology and size of our synthesized leucite particles were analyzed by SEM, vicker hardness and XRD, respectively. It was revealed that the sintering temperature played the important role on several properties of leucite ceramic particles.

La2CuO4 crystallites were prepared via a sol-gel process using lanthanum nitrate and cupric nitrate as raw materials, distilled water as solvent, citric acid as complexing agent and ammonia to control the pH value. The as-prepared La2CuO4 crystallites were characterized by XRD, FESEM, TEM and UV-Vis spectra. Results show that the crystallization property of La2CuO4 crystallites increases firstly and then decreases with increasing of the solution pH value from 1.0 to 2.5, but all of the samples exhibit single sphere-like morphology. It is found that when the solution pH value is controlled at 2.0, the grains display uniform distribution and the size ranges from 100nm to120nm after sintering at 600°C for 2 hours. The optical band gap of the as-prepared La2CuO4 crystallites is calculated to be 1.38eV.

In this paper, (Ba,Ti)-doped lanthanum silicate nano-sized powders have been synthesized via microwave assisted sol-gel auto-combustion route by using TEOS and lanthanum nitrate as the starting materials, citric acid and glycol as chelators. Both the phase compositions and morphologies of the obtained powders have been characterized. The results indicated that: the synthesized nano powders were characterized as fluffy aggregates with the particle size ranging from 50 to 100nm. As the doping contents of Ba increased, the crystalline sizes decreased and the aggregation were deteriorated, while the particle size decreased from 120nm to 80nm and the aggregation between particles were halted as the doping contents of Ti increased.

Considering the deposition of TiO2 films on the substrates with lower melting points, anatase TiO2 sol was directly prepared under lower temperature by an improved sol - gel processing and was characterized by XRD, TEM and FT-IR. The effects of process conditions on the crystallinity, crystalline phase and grain size of TiO2 sol, namely, the mol ratio R of n-butyl titanate and water, pH value, aging time and the preparation temperature, were systematically discussed. The results showed that the mol ratio R and aging time had great influence on the crystallinity of TiO2 sol, whereas pH value and the preparation temperature mainly affected its crystalline phases. Besides, more water and lower pH value led to larger grain of TiO2 sol. The flexible TiO2 film electrodes were fabricated on a transparent indium-doped tin oxide coated PET substrate by means of a doctor-blading method using the mixture of the as-prepared TiO2 sol and P25 TiO2 particles. The photoelectrochemical performance of the TiO2 film electrode in Na2SO4 solution was better than that of the commercial TiO2 sol film, whereas its dye adsorbance was slightly smaller than that of the commercial TiO2 sol film because of its somewhat denser structure which could be improved by optimizing the fabrication process.
