This paper investigated the spacing threshold of nonsubmerged spur dikes with alternate layout to classify the impact scale of spur dikes. A mathematical model was built based on standardk-εmodel, finite volume method (FVM), and rigid lid assumption and was verified by experimental data. According to dimensional analysis, three indices, that is,Fr(Froude number),B/b(channel width to dike length), andB/h(channel width to water depth), were identified as the influencing factors on the spacing threshold, based on which fifteen sets of conditions were simulated. The calculation results indicate thatB/his the most influencing parameter onSc/b(spacing threshold to dike length), followed byB/bandFr. A dimensionless empirical formula of spacing threshold is fitted by multivariate regression. The results of four sets of additional conditions illustrate that the generalization of empirical formula is satisfactory and the precision of interpolation is higher than that of extrapolation. Furthermore, the spacing threshold of alternate spur dikes is generally smaller than ipsilateral spur dikes.

The economic purpose of correlation-regression analysis is to determine the possible options for product competitiveness management, as well as an assessment of possible ways to achieve the desired result. The developed model can be used to improve planning and increase the level of product competitiveness. The forecast of results, though for the short term, gives the chance to learn about the prospects of obtaining the appropriate level of competitiveness of products in accordance with the degree of application of the impact on it. The forecast is dynamic and adapts to changes based on the latest data. The proposed model can be integrated into the existing decision support system to increase the competitiveness of products. In addition, correlation-regression analysis makes it possible to estimate the current situation using a regression equation. The mathematical reflection of the study of product competitiveness is the economic-mathematical model, which determines its functioning and assessment of changes in its effectiveness in the event of possible changes in the characteristics of economic activity. The parameters of economic models are estimated using the methods of mathematical statistics according to real statistical information. The task of correlation-regression analysis is to construct and analysis of the economic-mathematical model of the regression equation (correlation equation, which reflects the dependence of the resultant feature on several factor features and gives an estimate of the degree of connection density. Using data on the magnitude and direction of action of the analyzed factors, you can get the data that can be obtained to assess the relevant impact on the current level of product competitiveness. That is, such an analysis is a powerful and flexible tool for studying the relationships between product competitiveness indicators. The use of this method makes it possible to better understanding of the level of influence of factors on the competitiveness of products, and, accordingly, learn to manage the processes that take place, as well as more accurately predict their further interaction. These studies are important for the formation and implementation of management decisions to increase the competitiveness of products, because it narrows the choice of indicators with the greatest impact on its level. The ability to determine short-term forecasting of such impacts makes it possible to determine regional perspectives under the conditions of implemented measures.

In the paper, in order to investigate the situation of impact on wet molding for straw of compressing speed and moisture ratio, and look for the inside law between them, closed compress experimental study on the wet molding for wheat straw pellet fuel was done by electrical universal material experimental machine and experimental provision made by oneself. Study on the impact situation for compressing speed and moisture ratio was done from pressure intensity, displacement and density of materiel. The result, which low compressing speed and low moisture ratio were propitious to wet molding, was gotten. The molding stage can be divided to loose stag, transitional stage, compressing stage. Partial elastic deformation mainly occurred In loose stage, and its mathematical model was linear equation. Elastic deformation mainly occurred In transitional stage, and its mathematical model was exponential equation. Plastic deformation mainly occurred In compressing stage, and its mathematical model was linear equation. The conclusion above has general directive significance to wet molding for straw pellet fuel.

AC stray current can cause AC corrosion and destroy the safe operation of buried pipelines, which comes mainly from nearby high voltage transmission lines and AC electric railway. The research and evaluation lags far behind DC stray current at home and abroad, besides, the AC current density measuring procedures are complex. Through experimental study of different parameters on the impact of the AC current density established a mathematical model of damaged area, soil resistivity, pipe-to-soil potential and coating resistivity. With it can indirectly get the AC current density, which improve efficiency by simplifying the measuring procedures. Also, provide a basis for harmfulness evaluation of AC stray current by studying the impact of AC current density on the corrosion rate.

By analyzing the processing principle of honeycomb ring with electrical discharge grinding (EDG), using method of orthogonal design to conduct the test and establishing mathematical model of regression equation with surface roughness through EDG. Comprehensive consideration of the various factors exist during processing process, derived out the more accurate experience formula of surface roughness on superalloy GH536 by EDG and obtained the higher significant level of regression equation by regression analysis. Results of test provide theoretical basis for the practical production in processing superalloy thin-walled parts by EDG and have a better guiding significance to solve the actual technical problems of process.

The current study experimentally investigates the heat transfer augmentation on the novel axial corrugated heat exchanger tube in which the spring tape is introduced. Air (Pr = 0.707) is used as a working fluid. In order to augment the thermohydraulic performance, a corrugated tube with inserts is offered. The experimental study is further extended by varying the important parameters like spring ratio (y = 1.5, 2.0, 2.5) and Reynolds number (Re = 10 000–52 000). The angular pitch between the two neighboring corrugations and the angle of the corrugation is kept constant through the experiments at β = 1200 and α = 600 respectively, while two different corrugations heights (h) are analyzed. While increasing the corrugation height and decreasing the spring ratio, the impact of the swirling effect improves the thermal performance of the system. The maximum thermal performance is obtained when the corrugation height is h = 0.2 and spring ratio y = 1.5. Eventually, correlations for predicting friction factor (f) and Nusselt number (Nu) are developed.

The article describes the role of polarisation in calculation of multiple reflections. A mathematical model of multiple reflections based on the Stokes vector for beam description and Mueller matrices for description of surface properties is presented. On the basis of this model, the global illumination equation is generalised for the polarisation case and is resolved into volume integration. This allows us to obtain an expression for the Monte Carlo method local estimates and to use them for evaluation of light distribution in the scene with consideration of polarisation. The obtained mathematical model was implemented in the software environment using the example of a scene with its surfaces having both diffuse and regular components of reflection. The results presented in the article show that the calculation difference may reach 30 % when polarisation is taken into consideration as compared to standard modelling.

The article analyzes the impact of certain factors on the volume of investments in the environment. Regression equations describing the relationship between the volume of investment in the environment and each of the influencing factors are constructed, the coefficients of the Pearson pair correlation between the dependent variable and the influencing factors, as well as pairwise between the influencing factors, are calculated. The average approximation error for each regression equation is determined. A correlation matrix is constructed and a conclusion is made. The developed econometric model is implemented in the program of separate collection of municipal solid waste (MSW) in Moscow. The efficiency of the model of investment management in the environment is evaluated on the example of the growth of planned investments in the activities of companies specializing in the export and processing of solid waste.
