Civil Engineering Material is one of the main special courses offered to undergraduate students whose major is Civil Engineering. It aims to let students know major civil engineering materials, their physical properties, mechanical properties, how they are used in construction, how they are tested in the lab, and their strength characteristics-information, so that they can solve problems arising from civil construction. Rapid development in civil engineering material requires construction of this course, which could keep the teaching content up-to-date with current situations. This paper analyzed the current conditions of this course and aims for construction and then describes a construction plan, including revision of the teaching content, improvement of teaching methods and class mode, compiling of test database and exercise database.

Our country has seen a rapid growth of municipal solid waste generation, which requires proper treatment. Therefore, there’s a great need for professionals special in municipal solid waste treatment, which makes the course of Municipal Solid Waste Treatment necessary for undergraduate students majoring in Environmental Engineering. Municipal Solid Waste Treatment is one of the main special courses offered to students whose major is Environmental Engineering. Through learning of this course, the students could grasp basic treatment technologies of MSW, e.g. pulverizing, composting, incineration, pulverizing and etc. In order to keep up with solid waste treatment nowadays, it is necessary to develop this course to improve teaching effects. Firstly, this paper described the current conditions of this course. Secondly, it offers a construction plan in adjustment of the course teaching content, enrichment of teaching methods and teaching mode, preparation of test database and exercise database and suggestion of ways to increasing teaching effect of this course.

The rapid development of the new technology has changed classroom teaching methods and tools in a positive way. This study investigated the classroom learning with augmented reality and the impact of student opinions. 97 volunteer undergraduate students took part in this study. Results included data in the form of frequencies, percentages and descriptive statistics. The results show that, with gamification methods, augmented reality content affected students’ opinions in a positive way. When QR codes are used in the classroom, students feel independent from classroom materials and can access various resources. Moreover, students think that, when augmented reality in the classroom is used, education is more enjoyable. Keywords: Augmented reality; gamification; opinions; students

The FRP materials can be divided into FRTP( fiber reinforced thermoplastic plastic) and FRSP( fiber reinforced thermoset plastic) according to the resin materials. As a new kind of composite, FRTP attracts people. s attention for the characteristics of light weight, durability, no environmental pollution and reshaping. According to the characteristics of FRTP, we compare the impregnation and moldinging process of FRTP materials and the physical properties of FRTP and FRSP. We study the FRTP laminates products for civil engineering and its mechanical properties and the application situation at home and abroad. Some problem to be solved are also presented.

Timber Acacia mangium (Acacia mangium, Willd) for Furniture. The study aims to determine the mechanical and physical properties and the decorative value (color and fiber) wood of acacia mangium with using finishing materials. This type of finishing material used is ultran lasur natural dof ,ultran lasur classic teak, aqua politur clear dof, aqua politur akasia dan aqua politur cherry. After finishing the wood is stored for 3 months. Test parameters were observed, namely, physical and mechanical properties of wood, adhesion of finishing materials, color and appearance of the fiber, and timber dimensions expansion. The results showed that the mechanical physical properties of acacia wood qualified SNI. 01-0608-89 about the physical and mechanical properties of wood for furniture, air dry the moisture content from 13.78 to 14.89%, flexural strength from 509.25 to 680.50 kg/cm2, and compressive strength parallel to fiber 342.1 - 412.9 kg/cm2. Finishing the treatment process using five types of finishing materials can increase the decorative value (color and fiber) wood. Before finishing the process of acacia mangium wood has the appearance of colors and fibers and less attractive (scale scores 2-3), after finishing acacia wood fibers have the appearance of colors and interesting and very interesting (scale 4-5).Keywords: mangium wood, mechanical properties, decorative value, finishing, furniture.
