A literature review was carried out to identify advances in research on workability of fresh concrete via both experimental tests and modeling, especially high performance concrete and self-compacting concrete. It is concluded that, in order to achieve better understanding of fresh concrete, especially self-compacting concrete (SCC) and high-performance concrete (HPC), a clear methodology of research should be established as the first step. It is suggested that there is no unique workability test method suitable for all the range of fluidity of fresh concrete, and a specific method should be identified for a proper range of fluidity. As to the relationship between fluidity of concrete and that of paste, future research can be conducted in two aspects, i.e. one is the influence of the quantity of paste in concrete, and another is the influence of fluidity of paste affected by a couple of factors.

As to the relationship between fluidity of concrete and that of paste, future research can be conducted in two aspects, i.e. one is the influence of the quantity of paste in concrete, and another is the influence of fluidity of paste affected by a couple of factors. Most literature proved that the flow of concrete depends both on positive effect and negative effect, the former promote fluidity, such as dispersing, filling and lubricating, and the latter restricts fluidity, such as formation of particle coagulation, an increase of wettable surface of solid particles and mechanical interlock.

In recent years, there is a great interest in many countries to use the limestone powder in produce concrete by the replacing it as a proportion of cement weight able to improving the properties of the concrete as well as this type of powder lead to the reducing concrete cost and the CO2 emissions through the process of cement industry. This study examined of the effect of the limestone powder indifferent proportion (5, 10, 15, and 20) % replaced by the weight of cement on the properties of Ultra High Performance Concrete). Where it included five tests consisted of workability of fresh concrete (slump test method), compressive strength, tensile strength, water absorption, and density. The Results show the possibility of replacing 15% of the cement weight with limestone powder lead to improving of concrete strength but negative effects on the properties observed as the amount of limestone powder exceeds this ratio.

The article presents the results of research concerning the influence of the volume of cement paste and the w/c ratio on the consistency of concrete mixes for high-performance massive and self-compacting concrete. The research covered six types of concrete mixes containing from 220 to 420 dm3 of cement paste in a cubic meter. Three of them were designed as high-performance concrete and for comparison three conventional ones. The consistency was tested with two methods: concrete slump test and flow table test, also additional tests of self-compacting mix were made. Compressive strength test were conducted to prove that concretes are high-performance. A high influence of the volume of cement paste on the workability and consistency of fresh concrete mix has been found, while the influence of the w/c ratio is considerably lower due to the dosage of high-quality superplasticizer.

AbstractIn recent years, Open Innovation (OI) and crowdsourcing have been very popular topics in the innovation management literature, attracting significant interest and attention, and inspiring a rich production of publications. Although these two topics share common themes and address similar managerial challenges, to the best of our knowledge, there is no systematic literature review that digs deep into the intersection of both fields. To fill in this gap a joint review of crowdsourcing and OI topics is both timely and of interest. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to carry out a comprehensive, systematic, and objective review of academic research to help shed light on the relationship between OI and crowdsourcing. For this purpose, we reviewed the literature published on these two topics between 2008 and 2019, applying two bibliometric techniques, co-citation and co-word analysis. We obtained the following results: (i) we provide a qualitative analysis of the emerging and trending themes, (ii) we discuss a characterization of the intersection between OI and crowdsourcing, identifying four dimensions (strategic, managerial, behavioral, and technological), (iii) we present a schematic reconceptualization of the thematic clusters, proposing an integrated view. We conclude by suggesting promising opportunities for future research.

This review article proposes the identification and basic concepts of materials that might be used for the production of high-performance concrete (HPC) and ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC). Although other reviews have addressed this topic, the present work differs by presenting relevant aspects on possible materials applied in the production of HPC and UHPC. The main innovation of this review article is to identify the perspectives for new materials that can be considered in the production of novel special concretes. After consulting different bibliographic databases, some information related to ordinary Portland cement (OPC), mineral additions, aggregates, and chemical additives used for the production of HPC and UHPC were highlighted. Relevant information on the application of synthetic and natural fibers is also highlighted in association with a cement matrix of HPC and UHPC, forming composites with properties superior to conventional concrete used in civil construction. The article also presents some relevant characteristics for the application of HPC and UHPC produced with alkali-activated cement, an alternative binder to OPC produced through the reaction between two essential components: precursors and activators. Some information about the main types of precursors, subdivided into materials rich in aluminosilicates and rich in calcium, were also highlighted. Finally, suggestions for future work related to the application of HPC and UHPC are highlighted, guiding future research on this topic.

How cooperatives generate and absorb social capital has attracted a great deal of attention due to the fact that they are collective organizations owned and democratically managed by their members, and, accordingly, are argued to be closely linked to the nature and dynamics of social capital. However, the extant literature and knowledge on the relationship between cooperatives and social capital remain unstructured and fragmented. This paper aims to provide a narrative literature review that integrates both sides of the relationship between cooperatives and social capital. On the one hand, one side involves how cooperatives create internal social capital and spread it in their immediate environment, and, on the other hand, it involves how the presence of social capital promotes the creation and development of cooperatives. In addition, our theoretical framework integrates the dark side of social capital, that is, how the lack of trust, reciprocal relationships, transparency, and other social capital components can lead to failure of the cooperative. On the basis of this review, we define a research agenda that synthesizes key trends and promising research avenues for further advancement of theoretical and empirical insights about the relationship between cooperatives and social capital, placing particular emphasis on rural and agricultural cooperatives.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to provide insights into the relationship between dynamic capabilities and innovation capabilities. It links dynamic capability with innovation capability and indicates the ways they can be related. Design/methodology/approach – The relationships between dynamic and innovation capability were investigated through a systematic literature review. Findings – The review indicates that common characteristics exist between of the both fields, which demonstrate six relationships. Additionally, findings show some inconsistencies and even contradictions. Originality/value – In this paper, the authors have compared dynamic capabilities, a relatively new approach in the field of strategic management, with innovation capabilities, a widely recognised crucial domain for sustained competitiveness. Since both areas address issues that are essential to today's environment, future research should seek to clarify both concepts, by undertaking some new research and developing comprehensive and unambiguous framework.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 0in 0.5in 0pt;"><span style="color: black; font-size: 10pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;" lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">The literature review reveals that there is a relationship between organizational learning organizational commitment, job satisfaction and work performance. However, it is apparent that the integrated relationships between these variables have not been found to be reported. Hence, we examine the relationship among these variables using a sample of public service managers in Malaysia. Organizational learning was found positively related to organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and work performance. Organizational commitment and job satisfaction are also positively related with work performance and these variables partially mediate the relationship between organizational learning and work performance. Implication of the study and suggestions for future research been discussed in this paper.</span></span></p>

There is an abundance of studies on work engagement found in the literature. However, there is a lack of grounded research framework to be based on relating stress to work engagement of Malaysian private academics. Therefore, this study is aimed at 1). reviewing the literature on stress and work engagement; 2). applying the ASSET model of stress to work engagement; 3). hypothesizing the relationships among these variables, and 4). deriving a conceptual framework. Based on the literature review on psychological literature and the application of the ASSET model of stress, the paper proposes a model of the relationship between stress and work engagement through commitment and health. Suggestions for practice and future research are also presented. Keywords— ASSET, Malaysian private academics, stress, work engagement.
