Face teeth grinding of special tools, as hobing worm milling cutters are, is the shape and cinematically complex operation with the respect to achieving the necessary accuracy and resultant shape geometry. The grinding wheel shape, it ́s size and the control helix angle of hobing worm are the primary factors which are compelling the ground groove accuracy during the face teeth sharpening process. Inappropriately selected combination of these parameters causes undercut of this surface and the negative impact on required accuracy. The main aim of the solution is to find a variable and to create a parametric mathematical model to calculate appropriate grinding wheel shape according to the input factors – hobing worm and grinding wheel parameters which affects this issue. This system will be used to create the initial grinding wheel surface and a helix groove undercut calculation program. The graphical part of this programme will be the next benefit.

In this paper, the mathematical model of the oscillation-assisted cylindrical plunge grinding process has been presented. In this model, the dynamical properties of the grinder, self-excited vibration (regenerative chatter), and nonlinear behavior of the grinding force have been taken into consideration. This mathematical model has been applied to analyze both formation and development of chatter on the workpiece and the grinding wheel surface during oscillation-assisted cylindrical plunge grinding. The frequency response function (FRF), describing dynamical properties of the grinder, has been determined by means of modal experiment. The model has been implemented in matlab-simulink environment in order to perform simulations. The results of the simulations confirmed the antiregenerative properties of the oscillations of the workpiece rotational movement during cylindrical plunge grinding.

Controlling the tooth errors induced by the variation of diameter of grinding wheel is the key problem in the process of ZC1 worm grinding. In this paper, the influence of tooth errors by d1, m and z1 as the grinding wheel diameter changes are analyzed based on the mathematical model of the grinding process. A new mathematical model and truing principle for the grinding wheel of ZC1 worm is presented. The shape grinding wheel truing of ZC1 worm is carried out according to the model. The validity and feasibility of the mathematical model is proved by case studies. The mathematical model presented in this paper provides a new method for reducing the tooth errors of ZC1 worm and it can meet the high-performance and high-precision requirements of ZC1 worm grinding.

The surface of a grinding wheel dressed by a diamond rotary dresser was generated by computer-aided simulation for the case of multipass dressing on the assumption that the grinding wheel is a homogeneous solid body and the dressing trajectories of the diamond grits are perfectly copied on the grinding wheel surface. The dressing process was visualized as a contour map of the dressed surface profile and the effects of the dressing strategy, i.e., down-cut dressing or up-cut dressing, on the grinding wheel removal process were investigated. It was found that the diamond grits remain the residual depth of cut on the surface of the grinding wheel, resulting in an actual depth of cut larger than that given by the rotary dresser.

A 3D profiler based on scanning white light interferometry with a lateral sampling interval of 0.11μm was introduced to measure the surface topography of a #3000 diamond grinding wheel, and a large sampling area could be achieved by its stitching capability without compromising its lateral or vertical resolution. The protrusion height distribution of diamond grains and the static effective grain density of the grinding wheel were derived, and the wheel chatter and the deformation of the wheel were analyzed as well. The study shows that the grain protrusion height obeys an approximate normal distribution, the static effective grain density is much lower than the theoretical density, and only a small number of diamond grains are effective in the grinding process with fine diamond grinding wheel. There exists waviness on the grinding wheel surface parallel with the wheel cutting direction. The cutting surface of the grinding wheel is not flat but umbilicate, which indicates that the elastic deformation at the wheel edges is much larger than in the center region.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought about major changes in the lifestyle of the world population. Due to the lack of vaccines or a definitive treatment for disease, governments around the world have adopted social isolation and quarantine as methods to control the spread of the virus. Objective: Thus, the objective of this study was to discuss how social isolation and quarantine periods affected people's mental health and quality of life during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: An integrative literature review was carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic between March and September 2020, establishing the following guiding question: How did social isolation and quarantine affect the mental health and quality of life of the population in the COVID-19 pandemic? Results: The final sample consisted of nineteen (19) articles, two (2) addressed depression during the pandemic period, three (3) presented the pandemic and the relationship with sociodemographic aspects, five (5) analyzed mental health in the pandemic, four (4) reported the impact of COVID-19 on the population's style and quality of life and the last five (5) demonstrated the quality of human relationships and emotional aspects in the face of the pandemic. Conclusion: It was demonstrated that isolation and the quarantine period had a negative impact on the population's quality of life and long-term mental health.

In this paper we analyze the forming mechanism of composite abrasive grains in oxide film on ELID grinding wheel surface, By using composition information and by taking advantage of microscale structure, we have investigated that abrasive grains surface is covered by a layer of oxide film and the fresh oxide film is loose and porous like turtle shaped crack when crushed and dried. The elements of oxide film consist of α-Fe2O3 with sphere grain of 5-50nm. This phenomena is demonstrated that the composite abrasive grains in oxide film is a compound structure which is centered by abrasive grains, with α-Fe2O3,Fe (OH)3 surrounded.

A two-dimensional mathematical model is developed to simulate laser truing and dressing of bronze-bonded diamond grinding wheel. Based on the model, the ablation depth produced on bond and diamond abrasives by an acousto-optic Q-switched YAG pulsed laser under different parameters as well as the temperature field on grinding wheel surface produced in the laser ablation process are numerically simulated. An experimental study on laser truing and dressing of grinding wheel is also conducted. In the study, the wheel surface is ablated by the single-pulsed laser and measured with a measurement device for surface topographic information. Both the theoretical analysis and the experimental results indicate that the truing and dressing processes can be simultaneously realized with the laser ablation as a single process.
