The purpose of the study was to explore and analyse the journey of recovery which is undertaken by women who have been sexually assaulted, with the aim of discovering the grounded theory of recovery from sexual assault within the first six months following the event of rape. The main research question was: ‘What is the journey o f recovery that is undertaken by women within the first six months following sexual assault?’ Another question that developed during data collection and data analysis was ‘What is the meaning that women attach to recovery?’ The findings are discussed under the eight concepts or categories and the context and the intervening conditions that influence the journey of recovery from sexual assault trauma. Refer to part 1 article. These are complemented with abstracts of data from the participants’ voices and the related discussions. The developed theory highlights the process and the interconnectedness of the different stages of what the women experience in their journey of recovery from sexual assault trauma.

Thousands of women and children experience sexual assault trauma annually in South Africa. The challenge posed by recovery from sexual assault trauma is a reality that confronts the survivors of sexual assault, their families and the larger community of service providers. Yet, little research has been conducted on recovery from sexual assault as a phenomenon. The purpose of the study was to explore and analyse the journey of recovery which is undertaken by women who have been sexually assaulted, with the aim of discovering and developing the grounded theory of recovery from sexual assault trauma within the first six months following the event of rape. The main research question was: What constitutes the journey of recovery undertaken by women within the first six months following sexual assault? A longitudinal qualitative study was conducted using the principles of grounded theory methodology as proposed by Strauss and Corbin (1990,1998). A series of indepth one-to-one interviews were conducted with a sample of ten women. The participants were selected through open, purposive and theoretical sampling procedures. The study was conducted over a period of six months following the event of sexual assault.

Abstract The purpose of this article is to compare two qualitative approaches that can be used in different researches: phenomenology and grounded theory. This overview is done to (1) summarize similarities and differences between these two approaches, with attention to their historical development, goals, methods, audience, and products (2) familiarize the researchers with the origins and details of these approaches in the way that they can make better matches between their research question(s) and the goals and products of the study (3) discuss a brief outline of each methodology along with their origin, essence and procedural steps undertaken (4) illustrate how the procedures of data analysis (coding), theoretical memoing and sampling are applied to systematically generate a grounded theory (5) briefly examine the major challenges for utilizing two approaches in grounded theory, the Glaserian and Straussian. As a conclusion, this overview reveals that it is essential to ensure that the method matches the research question being asked, helps the researchers determine the suitability of their applied approach and provides a continues training for the novice researchers, especially PhD or research students who lack solid knowledge and background experience in multiple research methods.

Recent developments in the online distribution and consumption of audio-visual content have brought relevant changes to the transnational flow of content. Thus, the need for a theoretical and methodological rejuvenation of flows research has been signalled. The aim of the present study is to analyse the different flow studies throughout time, following a series of parameters such as research question, methodology and scale of study. This article is a systematic literature review of 30 flow studies on film and television programmes, published between 1974 and 2014. The methods used by the studies are brought into focus and discussed thoroughly, in light of the method of data collection, the type of data used and the method of data analysis. Main findings show an evolution towards more detailed research, to include more contextual factors, an increased use of secondary data, as well as more focused regional and comparative studies.

This paper examines a female school principal’s perceptions of professional identity development. Recently education management has undergone the process of managerial transformation whereas new requirements and standards have been raised for school principals. Managerial transformations have been influenced by political, economic and cultural factors that (re)shaped school principals’ professional identities. These social identity changes are especially important in the shift of managerial paradigms that evoke challenges in social identification processes. Two major approaches to professional identity include a feminist standpoint and a social construction approach. The former claims that females are underrepresented as leaders in most facets of work life due to gender role stereotypes, prejudices and unequal power distribution. The latter subscribes to the notion that person’s identities are multiple and fluid due to their cultural, historic, and social situatedness. The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore the pathways of female school principals’ professional identity development. The main research question of this study was how professional identity development is described by female school principals. The study focuses on two in-depth interviews with experienced school principals. The constructivist grounded theory methodology has been applied for the research. Comparative analysis allowed to generate analytic units ranging from small to large and from micro (individual), and meso (organizational) to macro (regional, national or worldwide) levels in disclosing professional identity development process. Fifteen themes comprised the results of the interview research unfolding the essential phenomenon of professional identity development.

<p>Symbols have been a crucial part of all religions in the world for they can represent religious values, ideas, and events. This study seeks to examine the meaning of religious symbols in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, and their role in maintaining socio-religious harmony in the region. Qualitative and interpretative in nature, data collection techniques in this study were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis employed a <em>grounded theory</em> design. The results of this study indicate that the symbols of religious pluralism are visible on the Pura Meru (next to the Nurul Falah mosque), on the statues of various religious figures at the Pura Mayura, and on the Pura Lingsar, a home for an ancient building called <em>Kemalik</em>. These symbols have been recognized as common properties of Hindus and Muslims and as places to get blessings. There is also the Topat War festival which is a legacy of Muslim and Hindu traditions used as a medium to pour out any form of anger among religious adherents and then end with peace. Those symbols are believed to be able to foster togetherness and harmony in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. In general, these religious symbols have made Cakranegara and Lingsar peaceful areas free from religious conflicts to date.</p>

Grounded Theory (hereinafter – GT) is considered one of the most widely used research methodologies in social sciences. Due to different versions of GT, the development of instruments for research still poses particular questions. The article addresses the following research question: what are the process, parameters and outcomes (results) of development of instruments for research under different versions of GT? The aim is to summarize the methodological regularities and the logic of tools’ development within the different versions of GT. Though the research procedures applied in different versions of GT are slightly different, they share some common aspects: theoretical sampling is usually applied; an interview is employed for data collection (though other additional methods are used as well). GT analysis starts as early as data collection, while the result of GT is a new independent theory describing, explaining and substantiating the phenomenon. The GT is understood as contextual and situational theory rather than universally applied abstract theory. An interview is the key data collection method across all versions of GT. Despite the particular methodological differences, the main highlight of all versions of GT is the fluctuation (changeability) and the variability of instruments’s content, what means the (possible) change of questions of interviews ir criterions for observations, or document analysis. On the one hand, it expands the researcher’s possibilities; on the other hand, the researcher faces an overload of information which is difficult to cope with.

Most curriculum internationalization studies have been focusing on international students and study abroad programs, which has excluded the majority of non-mobile students on American campuses. In addition, the existing studies have been conducted from administrator and faculty perspectives. This chapter generates a substantive theory of intercultural curriculum and teaching methods from the experiences of students who have taken intercultural classes in American classrooms. Active interview theory and grounded theory were utilized for data collection and data analysis. Based on the pure voices from both domestic and international students, this chapter has identified three core categories and eight sub-categories representing student-preferred internationalized curriculum. These categories or themes offer new angles to look at curriculum internationalization.

This research was conducted to investigate the most difficult aspect faced by students in writing. The research question addressed in this research was: “what is the most difficult aspect faced by the students in writing?”.The design of this research was a case study. In conducting this research, the researcher took class XI IPA 1 of SMAN 1 Wundulako as a subject of the research with considerable that the class have the low est score in writing. The researcher used two kinds of data collection. They were questionnaire and interview.  The sample of the research was class IX IPA 1 which consisted of 28 students. While in analyzing the data, the researcher analyzed the data of questionnaire by using the formula which proposed by Nazir and for the data of interview the researcher used technique of data analysis proposed Ngabut such as data reduction, data display and verifying and conclusion. In representing the analysis, it was found out that the students of SMAN 1 Wundulako especially in the second grade class XI IPA 1 got four difficulties in writing. They were content organization vocabulary and grammar. From four aspects of three components, the vocabulary mastery aspect was considered as the difficult aspects that faced by the students in writing. The third statement of vocabulary aspect in the questionnaire was a  difficulties that often faced by the students. It was shown by the result of questionnaire and interview with the percentage  3,53  mean  and  writng  test     also  to  support  its  students  lack vocabulary, its concluded students of SMAN 1 Wundulako difficulties in writing.

Kesulitan dalam proses penyusunan laporan yang dihadapi oleh peneliti kualitatif yang disebabkan oleh keterbatasan pengetahuan sehingga cenderung hanya mendiskripsikan data yang diperoleh tanpa menganalisa secara mendalam, sehingga penelitian tidak berkembang dan hanya berputar-putar dikarenakan kebingungan peneliti, untuk alasan itulah artikel ini dibuat. Dengan menggunakan metode  Konseptual dengan hasil modifikasi model  dari desain sederhana (Burhan, 2018b;3-4) dengan model  desain sederhana menggunakan  triangulasi teori/ simple research design with triangulasi theory, dengan 7 langkah utama yaitu : (1) Sosial context and research question (2) Literature review (3) Research method and data collection (4) Data analysis (5) Draft Reporting (6) Triangulasi Theory (7) Reporting & Findings (Burhan, 2020, Rofiah, 2020). Dan disimpulkan bahwa, proses penyusunan laporan ini memang menghadirkan sejumlah tantangan untuk penelitian tetapi, seperti yang telah disoroti dalam artikel ini, bahwa dalam proses ini akan lebih mudah karena ada solusi yang dipakai oleh peneliti dalam melakukan penyusunan laporan dan mengidentifikasi temuan. Kunci sukses dalam penelitian tampaknya terletak pada kemauan dan kemampuan untuk menyesuaikan metode secara tepat dan untuk mengubah ekspektasi mendengar suara responden dengan bahasa ekspresif defisit. Ini dapat dicapai melalui penerapan sejumlah strategi yang dibahas dalam artikel ini.
