Abstract In this essay, I will discuss a variety of considerations that Goethe expressed in his writings. I will with few exceptions address these writings in chronological order. I include both literary and scientific-philosophical works. In this way I hope to show that a certain theme is at the heart of Goethe’s thinking, and that Goethe’s later works expresses a sophisticated and “deep” account of this theme. In addition, I will try to explain how one can ascribe this Goethean theme to major philosophers of the twentieth century – Cassirer, Merleau-Ponty, and Wittgenstein. The theme in question concerns the individuality of a human life in a metaphysical sense, characterizing the individual as situated “in between” Nature and Culture. By being both a child of Nature and a child of Culture, the fate of individuals is the transformation of previously given human concerns and practices. There never is a natural child nor a cultural formation securing human individuality. In Goethe’s words: The history of an individual human being is the individual human being. “Die Geschichte der Wissenschaft ist die Wissenschaft selbst, die Geschichte des Individuums, das Individuum”. See Hamacher (2010, 182). Hamacher’s book has been a major source for me!

Paleontology teaching must be an usual subject in the cultural formation. It is from it that man understands the history of Earth and its evolutionary process, giving a new look and perspective of what behaviors a society must adopt. In order that teaching of paleontology subjects gets a response back from society, other methods beside the basic didactic books must be explored for diffusion of educational and informative message, whit less academic terms and more attractively. Searching alternatives to fill such necessities, some of the available options are: Games, expositions, animations/documentaries and paradidactic books. These media have already been used by many scholars in the area, but can always be reworked and explored. The Laboratório de Estudos de Comunidades Paleozóicas (LECP) of the Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO) has been using one of these alternatives. It is a project of elaboration of paradidactic books that a language directed to the infant-juvenile people was adopted to introduce paleontological concepts and fossiliferous localities - Maecuru e Ererê Formations (Amazonas Basin) - from Devonian Period. The referred project, although using a resource already available in Paleontology teaching, is innovator, because it deals with Brazilian formations of a geologic period unknown by the population. By alternative educational proposes the paleontology consolidates new process of interdisciplinary, necessary for diversified divulgation of its subjects. This new paleontology vision, when assimilated by the society, allow a conscientization about the biologics and non-biologics process that have occurred along the geologic time. A holistic conscience of the evolution of the Earth would help in the formation of a new society, which is already worrying about the balance and availability of the natural resources.

Christian Petzold’s Yella (2007) helps to establish the parameters for reconsidering German film in the context of neoliberalism. Yella develops formal interventions into audiovisual language to make the structures and affects of neoliberalism visible; it exposes neoliberalism as a highly gendered cultural formation; and its ability to create images of the present is contingent not only on representational practices, but also on its mode of production. Following a brief analysis of Yella as an emblematic film, this introduction provides a critical overview of approaches to neoliberalism and offers a short history of neoliberalism in Germany. It concludes by outlining the contributions of the book and its feminist approach for making neoliberalism visible.

Having ceased publication in 2015, Bucketfull of Brains (aka BoB), founded in 1979 by Nigel Cross, is prime candidate for the United Kingdom’s longest-running music fanzine. When Cross relinquished control of the zine in 1985 its identity changed, but it retained the ‘voice’ of a zine despite increasingly assuming the ‘look’ of a magazine. This liminal identity also extended to its transatlantic focus and its straddling of punk and psychedelic music scenes. This article demonstrates how BoB also ‘bridged the gap’, especially in terms of taste communities, between the countercultural/underground publications of the 1970s and the punk and post-punk fanzines which came later. In doing so BoB was ideally situated to document the long-running garage rock revival of the 1980s and indeed was regarded as ‘the Bible’ of this scene by its readers. Drawing on interviews with BoB editors Nigel Cross and Jon Storey, the article is primarily concerned with the motivations and work of fanzine editors/writers in documenting the histories and development of interlinked popular musical sub-genres and micro-genres. In providing various layers of context to elucidate the place of both BoB and the publications that had a significant influence upon it (e.g. ZigZag) in the history of rock fanzine scholarship and the reasons for the persistent neglect of such scholarship, the article is also influenced by concepts of literary form and genre.

Mankind has acquired the term “tolerance” from the religion. Particularly the divine religions contribute to the interpretation efforts of the individual in all spheres.  Considering the fact that all the sovereignty belongs Allah throughout the earth; Islam puts forward a universal cultural formation that brings the human values fore. As a result of the expansionist policies that involve a colonial tradition; the human values has been understood in different aspects. This is one of the main reasons that urged Muslims to reinterpret their religions. Beside the social, political and economical transformations depending on external factors; most of the Islamic societies has believed in the separation of the religion and the politics. While studying upon the first years of the history of Islam; It is essential for the terms to be clear and understandable. Because the attitudes of the Muslims against other languages, religions, colors, races and ideologies will spring to life with Quran and Sunnah. By the way; the traditional Islamic tolerance involves sound communicative means. Violent responses against attacks will contrast with the peaceful bases that the Islamic thought depends on. And that case necessitates a new Islamic reconciliation and peace project around the globalizing world just like in the Medina Community that was formed after Hegira. Muslim leaders, primarily, should be ready for an intellectual attitude that can form a new reconciliation and peace culture before encountering new developments like secularism and likewise. Özetİnsanlık müsamaha konusunu dinden almıştır. Özellikle ilahi kaynaklı dinler ferdin her alanda anlamlandırma çabasına katkı sunmaktadır.
