This study aims to test the causal relationship between Saudi stock market index (TASI) and sectoral indices throughout the period from 2016–2020. The study data were extracted through the main index of the Saudi market and the indices of the available data of 19 sectors out of 21 sectors. The unit root test was used along with the Granger causality test, in addition to multiple regression tests in order to analyze the study hypotheses. The study shows that all index series were stationary at the zero level I (0), and the results also show that there were bidirectional and unidirectional causal relationships between TASI and sectoral indices, and that TASI effectively mirrors all the changes that occur in the Saudi stock market.

This work aims to analyze the impact of terrorism on the countries' capital markets and in the transport industry. To this end, eight recent terrorist attacks in the European Union have been studied and compared to two older similar attacks in the same region. The stock indices used in this study relate to the country's main index where the attack occurred and the FTSE Euro 100, S&P 500, and Dow Jones Singapore indices, representing the European, American, and Asian markets respectively. The results of this work are relatively discrepant since it was not possible to identify concretely the pattern of a terrorist attack on the capital markets. However, when we look at both time horizons studied, the results point to a greater capacity for market recover over time on terrorism.

AbstractCarbonic anhydrases (CAs) catalyze the synthesis of HCO3- from H2O and CO2. The dysfunction of CAs leads to aqueous humor secretion and high intraocular pressure to cause glaucoma pathogenesis. Methazolamide (MTZ), a CA inhibitor, can effectively treat glaucoma by reducing aqueous humor secretion. We previously reported that carbonic anhydrase I (CA1), a CA family member, was highly expressed in atherosclerotic tissues of the aorta and stimulated atherosclerosis (AS) by promoting calcification. MTZ showed therapeutic and preventive effects on AS in a mouse model. The above findings suggest a relationship between AS and glaucoma. This study explored the possible association between AS prevalence and glaucoma prevalence and the therapeutic effect of MTZ on AS by analyzing medical records. Among 10,751 patients with a primary diagnosis of glaucoma, 699 (6.5%) were also diagnosed with AS. However, the incidences of AS in patients with keratitis and scleritis, which are also ophthalmic diseases, were 2.5% (206/8383 patients) and 3.5% (46/1308 patients), respectively. In the population without ophthalmic records, the AS prevalence was only 1.9% (99,416/5,168,481 patients) (all p values between each group were below 0.001). Among 152,425 patients with a primary diagnosis of AS, 1245 (0.82%) were also diagnosed with glaucoma. Among 199,782 patients with a primary diagnosis of hypertension (excluding AS), 1149 (0.57%) were diagnosed with glaucoma, and among 5,313,433 patients without AS or hypertension, 9513 (0.18%) were diagnosed with glaucoma (all p values between each group were below 0.001). Additionally, among 14 patients who suffered from both AS and glaucoma and were treated with MTZ to cure their glaucoma, 9 of them showed reduced low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels, the main index of AS, within 3 months after medication use (2.81 ± 0.61 mmol/L vs. 2.38 ± 0.58 mmol/L, p = 0.039). The above findings demonstrated a strong relation between AS and glaucoma and suggested that AS patients with glaucoma were more likely to suffer from angle-closure glaucoma.

Down fiber – a natural and environmentally recyclable insulation material – is applied mainly in the area of natural-filled products. However, owing to its natural deficiencies of low fluffiness and thermal stability, large-scale application is limited. In our work, an enzyme preparation (transglutaminase (TGase)) was used as a fluffy agent to improve the fluffy degree of down. With fluffy as the main index, the single factor condition of only using TGase enzyme was optimized, and fluffiness was increased by 22%. On the basis of this optimum condition, the compound dosage of papain and TGase was further optimized. The fluffy degree of down was improved by hydrolysis of papain and crosslinking of TGase. Amino group content, thermogravimetry (TG), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), moisture absorption, tensile strength, and elongation at break of down treated with different enzyme reagents were tested. The results showed that the thermal stability of down fiber treated with the multi enzyme increased significantly, the denaturation temperature was increased from 53.7°C to 77.4°C, and the moisture absorption was also improved. The elastic property also exhibited a great enhancement; elongation at break increased from 12.4% to 37.7%, nearly three times higher than the original property, and the tensile strength increased from 180 MPa to 370 MPa, almost 2.1 times as much as before, increased by 105.6%.

In area of manufacturing, the indices of each manufacturing machine are the productivity and goodness of products. The theory of reliability is closely related to Indices of productivity, the both theories the efficiency of machines, and optimizations one. The reliability of machines has been guessed by standard indices of the theory of reliability. The main index of reliability of every manufacturing machine is its availability. However, indicated the reliability of industrial machines with complicate design have not expressed in equations of the productivity. These indices of accuracy should be a component of equations of a productivity of a machine and reflects changes of a productivity rate one on changes of indices of reliability and mechanical parameters of a machine. The availability has been included the equations of the machines productivity rate, therefore the reliability of machines is the integrated indication. The machines reliability with complicate design such as automated lines relies also on construction and technical data. The output modelling has been reported the output result with availability for the automated lines, defining their structures according to the grade of reliability and productivity as a task of technical motif of manufacturing machines with complex designs.

In order to analyze the effectiveness of setting exclusive pedestrian phase (EPP) under different vehicle yielding rates, the effect of EPPs on traffic efficiency is studied and a setting condition of EPP considering pedestrian-vehicle interaction is proposed in this paper. First, the main factors influencing the behavior of vehicles and pedestrians during pedestrian-vehicle interaction are analyzed, and a pedestrian-vehicle interaction (PVI) model at the crosswalk of urban road is established. Second, assuming that vehicle arrival obeys the Poisson distribution, the delay models of vehicle passengers and pedestrians crossing the street at the intersection are established, and taking the total delay of traffic participants as the main index, the setting condition of EPP are proposed. Third, based on the video of pedestrian-vehicle interaction at crosswalks, the parameters of the proposed model are calibrated. Through sensitivity analysis, the change of the total delay of traffic participants is analyzed under different conditions of pedestrian and vehicle arrival rates. Finally, by introducing pedestrian-vehicle interaction rules, a cellular automata (CA) simulation platform of pedestrian-vehicle interaction in crosswalk is established; based on the field data of Shanghai, a simulation model of intersection is established, and the total delay, queue length, and vehicle throughput under conventional signal control plan and EPP plan are compared. The results show that the pedestrian-vehicle interaction process has a great influence on the total delay of traffic participants at intersections, and pedestrian-vehicle interaction should be considered in the setting conditions of EPP. Under the same condition of vehicular flow, the more the pedestrian flow is, the smaller the delay increment will be. The higher the vehicle yielding rate is, the smaller the delay increment will be after setting EPP.

After years of research and practice, ICD well completion technology has become a relatively mature completion technology, and has been successfully applied in hundreds of horizontal Wells abroad. However, due to many factors affecting ICD effect, mature evaluation methods have not been completely established. At present, the main index of ICD water control development effect is to balance inflow profile and inhibit water production, and the evaluation factors involve reservoir, process and equipment structure. This paper summarizes the factors influencing the effects of ICD, using orthogonal experiment design method to carry on the comprehensive evaluation, and puts forward the corresponding Suggestions

This paper discusses the factors affecting GDP growth. By processing the data related to GDP, this paper uses AHP method, BP neural network, SVR method and economic policy correction model to quantitatively analyze the impact of different candidate countries on the U.S. economy and China’s economy. Combined with political, economic, social, environmental and other factors, referring to the national policy, the index system is obtained. The judgment matrix is constructed by AHP, and the more important one is extracted as the main index. Then the evaluation is carried out by using neural network. Firstly, the index is combined with the existing GDP standard system, and then network training and simulation are carried out. After substituting the data, we get and analyze the interaction between the indicators of each factor, and determine the positive correlation and negative correlation between the factors in the schematic diagram. As for the influence of policy factors, GDP is indirectly affected through tangible influence.
