Experience on the job training will help students improve the competence of graduates to align with what is needed. In addition to developing competencies, learning through experience on the job training will stimulate the development of character and also a work ethic of discipline, responsibility, honesty, cooperation, leadership, and others according to what is needed by the industry. The creation of competence, character and work ethic is expected that graduates will be ready to welcome the competition of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). This research was conducted based on a literature study of various theoretical studies regarding experiences on the job training. Where these studies are an initial description in conducting research, especially those related to the influence of experiences on the job training. Based on the results of data analysis with several similar research literature, the effect of on the job training experience on graduate work readiness is very significant and it can be concluded that there is a significant effect on the job training experience on graduate work readiness.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) kesiapan kerja siswa Sekolah Menegah Kejuruan (SMK) di Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Utara, dan (2) hubungan dan pengaruh kegiatan praktik unit produksi sekolah, pengalaman praktik kerja industri dan dukungan keluarga secara sendiri-sendiri maupun bersama-sama terhadap kesiapan kerja siswa SMK. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa SMK kelas XII di kabupaten Hulu Sungai Utara Tahun Ajaran 2011/2012 dengan sampel sejumlah 148 siswa yang ditentukan menggunakan Tabel Krejeie Morgan. Pengambilan sample menggunakan teknik proporsional cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dengan Skala Likert dengan alternatif empat jawaban. Data variabel dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif. Hubungan dan pengaruh setiap variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat dianalisis dengan statistik korelasi parsial dan regresi ganda. Interprestasi hasil analisis data menggunakan taraf signifikan p = 0,05.Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesiapan kerja siswa SMK di Kabupaten HSU adalah sebagai berikut: sebesar 61,49% siswa memiliki tingkat kesiapan kerja pada kategori sangat tinggi dan sebesar 37,84% siswa memiliki tingkat kesiapan kerja pada kategori tinggi. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kegiatan praktik unit produksi sekolah, pengalaman praktik kerja industry dan dukungan keluarga terhadap kesiapan kerja (ܴ ଶ=0,501). Hal ini menjelaskan bahwa kegiatan praktik unit produksi sekolah, pengalaman prakerin dan dukungan keluarga secara bersama-sama mampu menjelaskan varian kesiapan kerja siswa SMK sebesar 50,1%. THE EFFECT OF PRODUCTION ORGANIZATION , ON- THE- JOB TRAINING AND FAMILY SUPPORT ON WORK READINESS OF THE STUDENTS IN VOCATIONAL SCHOOLSAbstractThis research was aimed to reveal: (1) the work readiness of the students of vocational high schools (VHS) in Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU) Regency and (2) the relationship and effect of school production organization activity, on-thejob training experiences and family support individually and simultaneously on the students’ work readiness.The population of this research was XII grade students of vocational schools in HSU Regency in the academic year 2011/2012, and a sample of 148 students was established by using Krejeie Morgan Table. The sample was established using the proporsional cluster random sampling technique. The research data were collected using the Likert Scale questionnaire with four options. The data of variable were descriptively analyzed. The effect and correlation between the independent and dependent variables were analyzed using the partial correlation statistic and multiple regression analysis. The interpretation of the data analysis result used the significance level of p = 0.05.The result of the descriptive analysis shows the level of students’ vocational school at HSU Regency is as follows: 61.49% of the students’ have the excellent work readiness, and 37.84% of the students’ have good work readiness. The hypothesis testing shows a significant effect of the school production unit organization, on-the- job training experience, and family support on work readiness (ܴ ଶ = 0.501). This shows that the school production unit organization, on-the-job training experience, and family support simultaneously are able to explain the variant of the students’ work readiness as much as 50.1%.

Penelitian  ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh on the job training (OJT), prestasi belajar, informasi tentang kerja, dan motivasi untuk kerja terhadap kesiapan kerja siswa. Populasi penelitian ini berjumlah 140 siswa dari Kompetensi Keahlian Otomatisasi dan Tata Kelola Perkantoran (OTKP) di SMK Negeri 1 Purbalingga. Sampling jenuh merupakan teknik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif kausalitas. Metode dalam mengumpulkan data penelitian ini menggunakan angket, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Dalam penelitian ini, menggunakan analisis data regresi berganda dan deskriptif persentase. Hasil penelitian diketahui: pertama, semua variabel bebas meliputi on the job training (OJT), prestasi belajar, informasi tentang kerja, dan motivasi untuk kerja memiliki pengaruh secara parsial dan signifikan terhadap kesiapan kerja siswa yaitu masing-masing ditunjukkan dengan nilai thitung sebesar  4.43, 4.335, 3.34, dan 2.44 lebih besar dari ttabel = 1.97769. Kedua, adanya pengaruh secara simultan antara on the job training (OJT), prestasi belajar, informasi tentang kerja, dan motivasi untuk kerja terhadap kesiapan kerja siswa yaitu ditunjukkan dengan Fhitung = 63.432 > Ftabel = 2,439246. Kata kunci: Kesiapan Kerja Siswa, On The Job Training, Prestasi Belajar, Informasi Tentang Kerja, Motivasi Untuk Kerja  Abstract: Effect of OJT, Learning Achievement, Job Information, and Work Motivation on Work Readiness of Vocational Students. The aims of this study determine the effect of of on the job training (OJT), learning achievement, information about work, and motivation to work on work readiness. The population in this study is students in class XII from OTKP at SMK Negeri 1 Purbalingga as many as 140 students. This study uses saturated sampling technique. The research methods used is a quantitative method with the type of causality. Meanwhile, the data collection was done by using questionnaire, interviews, and documentation. In this study uses multiple linier regression analysis and descriptive analysis of the percentage with significance level 0.05. The result of this study is known: firstly, the variables of on the job training (OJT), learning achievement, information about work, and motivation to work have a significantly effect the work readiness, as indicated by the value of tstat 4.43, 4.335, 3.34, and 2.44 > 2.44 (tcrit.). The goal of this research was to know contribution between exogenous variable to the endogenous variable. Exogenous variable was practical of production unit (X1), soft skill (X2), and on the job training (X3), whereas endogenous variable was student’s competency (Y) and work readiness (Z). This research used quantitative approach with survey method. The research population was students in the Culinary Study Program at Batam Tourism Polytechnic. Sample in this research was 122 respondents that determined by using proportional random sampling technique. Data collection technique used questionnaire and documentation, data analysis technique that used in this research was path analysis. Test in the path analysis was divided into two groups, simultaneously and individually. The research result showed that there was significant contribution between practical experience of production unit, soft skill, and on the job training to the student competence for 99%, and significant contribution between practical experience of production unit, soft skill, on the job training, and student competence to the work readiness for 99,2%.

ABSTRACTEntrepreneurship education in order to foster interest in entrepreneurship for vocational high school students is an important aspect in accustoming graduates who are able to create employment. Sample of this research was entire Vocational High School students of Architecture Engineering Courses in Malang who has carried out on-the job training as many as 108 students. Based on the analysis by looking at propensity scores showed that: students’ entrepreneurship categorized as high contribution. From 108 respondents, 11 students or 10.26% categorized as very high contribution, 47 students or 43.52%, categorized as high contribution, 28 students or 25.92%, categorized as adequate contribution, and 22 students or 20.38% categorized as low contribution. Based on these results, it can be concluded that interest in entrepreneurship is influenced by experience of on-the-job-training which experience provides knowledge and experience, so as to accustom a student's interest in entrepreneurship. Keywords: entrepreneurship interest, On-the-Job Training experience, vocational high school ABSTRAKPenanaman  kewirausahaan  dalam  menumbuhkan minat berwirausaha bagi siswa SMK merupakan aspek penting dalam menghasilkan  lulusan  yang  mampu  menciptakan lapangan  kerja  (berwirausaha). Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMK Paket Keahlian Teknik Gambar Bangunan di Malang yang telah melaksanakan Prakerin sebanyak 108 orang siswa.  Berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan melihat kecenderungan skor yang diperoleh, minat berwirausaha siswa termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Dari 108 orang responden, yang termasuk pada kategori sangat tinggi sebanyak 11 orang atau sekitar 10,26%;, kategori tinggi sebanyak 47 orang atau sekitar 43,52%, kategori cukup sebanyak 28 orang atau sekitar 25,92%, dan kategori kurang sebanyak 22 orang atau sekitar 20,38%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Minat berwirausaha  dipengaruhi  oleh  pengalaman prakerin dimana pengalaman memberikan pengetahuan dan pengalaman dalam bekerja, sehingga dapat membentuk minat siswa dalam berwirausaha.  Kata kunci: minat berwirausaha, pengalaman prakerin, sekolah menengah kejuruan

This literature review presents the current state of research on structured on-the-job training (S-OJT) and proposes a research agenda for future research activities on this form of workplace learning. In the past three decades, S-OJT has emerged as an integral part of human resource development practice. The literature review seeks to identify the nature of S-OJT as it is described in the literature, categorize the existing research and practices of S-OJT, provide overview of three dimensions (audience, location, and conclusion) of each study involving S-OJT, and develop a conceptual framework for conducting research on S-OJT. Online databases including Business Source Premier & Complete, Academic Source Premier, Scopus, Primo Articles, JSTOR, and ERIC were used for the reviews. The results of this literature review provide a theoretical framework for understanding S-OJT as a means to promote future research and theory building.

Dr. Edwards Deming, whose 120th birthday falls on October 14, 2020, has made outstanding contributions to management theory and practice, mathematical statistics and many other areas of human endeavor. This work, written for the anniversary of E. Deming, examines the paradoxes arising from his teachings. They relate, inter alia, to competition, motivation and remuneration, the use of sampling methods, on-the-job training, operational definitions and much more. Resolving these paradoxes is the path to a deeper understanding of the modern world and to the improvement of management practice. Already during Deming’s lifetime, numerous attempts were made to revise his teachings, and now there is a desire to abandon the use and development of his heritage. This is alarming and worrying.
