Abstract In light of a large proportion of older workers leaving the German labour market in the near future, policy makers aim to extend working lives to ensure sustainability of the social security system. In this context, safe and healthy working conditions are considered a precondition for encouraging employment participation. To understand better the role of the work environment in pre-retirement years, we draw upon an established model of five job quality profiles for the German ageing workforce. We explored seven-year profile development and linked selected manual and non-manual job quality trajectories to the motivation to work (MTW) using data from the 2011, 2014 and 2018 assessments of the lidA cohort study (valid N = 2,863). We found that older workers shifted to physically less-demanding profiles. Individual profile stability was prevalent among one-third of the workers. In 2018, there was a higher MTW when job quality remained favourable or improved early, while later improvements were associated with lower MTW. Early deterioration of job quality was associated with lower MTW levels among workers with non-manual trajectories only. The results highlight the dynamic job quality situation of the older German workforce and the importance of adopting a person-centred perspective when investigating working conditions and its effects. They further underline the need to consider quality of work when designing and implementing strategies to extend working lives.

Numerous difficulties encountered in the work of a modern teacher reduce their desire to achieve results and approbation of innovative techniques, motivation to work in general. The increased relevance of pedagogical optimism in this regard contributed to the creation of technologies for its formation and development. The article examines the concept of pedagogical optimism and its structure, and also provides an overview of existing domestic methods for its formation among students, working teachers, and the rest of the population. The analysis of the concept, content and procedural characteristics, as well as methodological support of technologies for the formation and development of pedagogical optimism made it possible to evaluate them according to the criteria of manufacturability. The block diagram developed based on the analysis results clearly shows the trajectory of the possible choice of a particular technology, depending on the target audience.

The global gender inequality in the decision-making roles is generally associated with women’s behavioral, socio-economic, and cognitive abilities. This agenda is in local, international, and global prospect for more than a decade and still, parity is in question. The research undertaken for this thesis endeavors to classify the antecedent of the phenomenon while examining the developments made by governing bodies in- and outside an organizational framework. A Difference in Difference estimation approach is employed to two different panel data samples with ordinal scales. The aim is to identify and measure the relevance of factors implemented by local and global bodies to promote female contribution at the decision-making level. The first sample consists of panel data from the year 2015 to 2019 based on a sample group of 154 female participants. Thirty-three factors are classified through primary and secondary research, and causality among these variables and women’s motivation to work in decision-making roles is analyzed. The second sample consists of 43 countries from high and Upper-middle-income countries from the year 2000 to 2019. Five policies promoting gender equality implemented by governing bodies and their significance on female participation in decision-making hierarchies are analyzed.

Findings indicate that thirty factors from the first sample significantly influence women’s motivation to work in executive roles. In the second sample, three policies have significantly influenced the proportion of women in middle and senior management in sample countries after the year 2015.

Most studies on motivation to work concentrate on its environmental and situational antecedents. Individual values are not the point of interest of empirical analyses. The aim of the research described in the paper was to seek possible relationships between work ethic and motivation to work. A hypothesis was put forward that work ethic, in the classical Weberian approach, is connected with motivation to work, from the point of view of Ryan’s and Deci’s self-determination theory. The study on a sample of 405 Polish employees was conducted with use of the Polish version of Multidimensional Work Ethic Profile MWEP-PL and Work Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation Scale, in the Polish adaptation WEIMS-PL. The Canonical Correlation Analysis was used to assess the simultaneous interrelationships between two sets of the variables measured. The results show that selected dimensions of work ethic, such as centrality of work, valuing hard work, perceiving work as an obligation, anti-leisure sentiment and delay of gratification are positively related to autonomous dimensions of motivation: intrinsic motivation, integration and identification, and non-autonomous introjection. Attributing a high value to hard work, including the conviction that it leads to success, aversion to wasting time and self-reliance correlate positively with taking up work for extrinsic rewards and with the desire to acquire a positive opinion about oneself as well as gain approval and recognition from others. Work ethic is connected on the one hand with autonomous motivation, including in particular intrinsic motivation, and on the other hand with extrinsic motivation, with the striving for success, which is the result of work. After empirical verification the findings could become a base for training programs and shape the way of influencing people’s motivation, morale, attitude towards work and job satisfaction. They can result in the way employees are managed and selected for different tasks.

This study aimed to describe the correlation between electrical drawing learning outcomes and student motivation to work with electrical lighting installation learning outcomes of class XI TITL of SMKN 55 Jakarta with a sample of 92 students using the ex-post facto research method. The data analysis were collected by questionnaire and documentation. Based on the result of the analysis of these data, there is a linear and normal distribution. This research using method of hypothesis is Product Moment Correlation. Based on the result, the correlation value are ryx1=0,400, ryx2=0,334, ryx1x2=0,513, rtable=0,205 (rcount > rtable 5%) means (1) There is a positive correlation of engineering draw learning outcomes with electrical lighting installation learning outcomes. (2) There is positive correlation of student work motivation with electrical lighting installation learning outcomes (3) There is positive correlation of engineering draw learning outcomes and student work motivation with electrical lighting installation learning outcomes. Based on result, the higher electrical drawing learning outcomes and student motivation to work are then electrical lighting installation learning outcomes of class XI TITL of SMKN 55 Jakarta as well.
