The concepts of management and leadership are phenomena that have existed since the existence of humanity. Both of these concepts have undergone significant evolutions over the centuries in which humanity has developed. The concept of management, which is one of the important descriptors of the organizational field, has emerged in different ways in different environments. Different styles of management have led to the emergence of different leadership behaviors in organizational environments. One of the most important reasons for the formation of different leadership styles in different organizational environments is cultural values. In societies with different cultural value patterns, the experiences of socio-economic life also differ. Here, the unique aspects of social values shape many basic elements. The management and leadership styles of the society or the organizational structures within the social structure are one of these basic elements. As the management and leadership styles of the countries change, the management and leadership styles of the organizations also differ. One of the most important distinctions in this regard is made with the distinction between east-west culture in the literature. The eastern management culture and leadership styles differ from the western approaches. This difference is also reflected in the understanding of management and leadership in social phenomena. As a matter of fact, the ancient Turkish and Eastern philosophers, who described the times spent with wars and struggles on the subject, touched on important points. Philosophers have made references to the foundations of management philosophy and leadership with their predictions about management in many works from Kutadgu Bilig to the works of Hsun Tzu examining the art of war. Similarly, rooted victories in the Turkish administrative culture, in which the eastern management philosophy was used, were won in the wars and the struggle for independence. One of the most important of these victories is the 30August Victory. It is possible to say that in this victory, which represents an important turning point for the Turks to gain their independence, many successful management behaviors, which the eastern philosophers have made their subject, were also used. In this sense, in this study, it is tried to examine the importance of the 30 August Victory, which is an important representation of the struggle for existence of a country that takes Western values as an example, as well as the eastern-based administrative behaviors.

This chapter draws attention to the relevance of cultures to management philosophy with the purpose of contributing to a culturally viable practice of management in Africa. It has been shown that the different management theories in the form that they have been developed in the West may not fit culturally in Africa. However, in developing theories and building models of management theories in Africa, it is unlikely to pay Africans to throw away all that the West has to offer. Rather, the process of appropriate management theorizing should be to reflect on the assumptions of Western management theories, compare Western assumptions about social and cultural values with African cultural values, and rebuild the theories or models through experimentation. The use of anthropological and philosophical concepts in this context will help in development of appropriate management practice.

Various definitions of alternative media have been put forward and a number of approaches to determining “alternative” suggested. Many theorists emphasize the administrative/organizational aspects of alternative media. Critics of this approach point out that such organizational structures can also be used in media advancing repressive ideas and argue instead for a focus on content. A more radical approach argues that to be determined as alternative, the content of any media must be critical. However, little attention has been given to what constitutes “critical content.” This study stands in the tradition of Marxist criticism and applies dialectical method to analyzing and understanding the social phenomena of critical content, arguing that only such an approach can reveal the social and political role of media for it to be considered alternative. From this perspective, alternative media can be seen as a theoretical weapon in the struggle for self-emancipation, as is dialectical materialist philosophy.

Start-ups are only in the initial life cycle phases, which exposes them to many specific challenges and increases threats of business cessation. Because of their youth, the do not yet have formal organizational structures and operating rules. This also applies to the area of project management. In this chapter, the authors deal with the success of start-ups' projects and the characteristics of their project management culture. Although the success of projects and project management culture is relatively often discussed in the literature, it is generally done in the context of large companies, not start-ups. The research has shown that projects represent a large part of the start-ups' businesses, and that there is a significant high awareness of the importance of project preparation and the definition of objectives, as well as a caution in defining the roles and organization. In these companies we can notice quite a coherence with the principles of learning organizations, especially the importance of learning from experiences and transferring knowledge among the participants in the project.

In light of an increasingly integrated society, in-depth research is needed to explore how particular perceived values may guide leadership behaviour by measuring the everyday actions of employees. As Asian individual values become collective, there is an increased likelihood that they will be perceived as cultural values that translate into expectations of leadership roles. This article considers the impact of changes in leadership roles from a role theory perspective, based on Asian values leading to changes in leadership styles. The sample is taken from an organised industrial zone which consists of a high immigrant workforce that continues to grow. The research was conducted in western Turkey but has appeared in leading survey results on Asian cultural values. This study found significant symbolic interactionism between values and leadership roles. There were also correlations between roles and leadership styles, since leaders also influence the interpersonal roles of their employees. Among managers involved in decision-making and information processing, an autocratic participative leadership style has emerged. Points for practitioners In every organisation, leaders should be aware of values in their organisations by measuring the everyday actions of employees. To become proficient leaders, they should learn to act in a manner suitable to the roles expected by their subordinates. Furthermore, to be efficient, leaders should adopt what is considered a ‘proper' style through comparison to the indicated roles. In a nutshell, leadership, values and leadership styles are interference acts that affect all processes, from recruitment to strategic management.

The rapid growth of seventeenth-century science is said to have been facilitated from four main outside channels: the arts, medicine, economic life and war, each of them influencing, to some extent, the important scientific achievements of the latter half of the century. The bitter campaigns of the English Civil War stimulated a rough and ready empiricism, as military necessity brought forth increasing advances in engineering, navigation, cartography, medicine and surgery. And the impetus to inventive genius provided by long experience in the art of war is well exemplified in the career of the Royalist Commander, Prince Rupert of the Rhine. After nearly forty years of waging war on land and sea, Prince Rupert, German-English nephew of Charles I, spent his retirement in busy experiment; and many of his inventions, though based on his knowledge of weapons, were later adapted for peaceful purposes.

The article examines the communication links without which society cannot exist, but they are constantly changing, depending on various factors, including the social structure of society, social space, level of socio-economic development, government and governance, democracy and current laws that constantly affect the modernization of society. The history of mankind is 35-40 thousand years old. In each historical period, society was at a certain stage of development, which created the appropriate socio-cultural level, which in one way or another influenced the communication in society, because without communication society can not exist. It should be noted that the socio-cultural level depends on the social structure of society, and is determined by the social space and level of cultural development in this historical time, as well as the political and economic development of the country and its environment by other countries. Society is a set of all means of interaction and forms of association of people, formed historically, having a common territory, common cultural values and social norms, characterized by socio-cultural the identity of its members. Social space was understood as a set of points on an imaginary continuum that has a given number of axes of measurement (coordinates) that describe the structure of society. Points in the social space are called statuses." There are constant information connections (communications) between the statuses. It is these communicative connections that create a certain system through which society develops. Well-known foreign scientists such as T. Hobbes, F. Ratzel, G. Simmel, E. Durkheim, R. Park, P. Sorokin, and others worked on the problem of "social space". This topic remains relevant today, because a certain historical period creates certain conditions for certain social phenomena. Thus, the purpose of this article is to try to understand the communication changes that are taking place in society today and identify the factors that affect them. As you know, in society there are constant processes of socialization, people are constantly trying to learn about the environment: both natural and social. Especially a person tries to know and understand himself, because until you understand yourself, you will not be able to understand others. In Ukraine, it is planned to create a post-traditional socio-cultural space in which modernization takes place under the sign of traditional symbols. But in our society, "community-like" psychology is combined with urbanism and technical progress, traditional, post-traditional and modern coexist with some relative independence of culture. All this creates certain communicative features. Important features of the new socio-cultural reality are beginning to be outlined in Ukraine today.

This study aims to find out how media literacy is the cultural value of teenagers of Chinese descent in the China Benteng Tangerang area. This research uses a case study method, which describes social phenomena, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with three speakers. The research concept used is media literacy. The results showed that adolescents of Chinese descent in the China Benteng Tangerang region had cultural awareness and understanding of intercultural interaction. They are able to optimize new media for communication processes, interactions, information access needs and the process of disseminating cultural values. They are open to different cultures, and feel the value of nationalism becomes the main when its role as a member of the community, even though descendants peranakan.
