The article examines the communication links without which society cannot exist, but they are constantly changing, depending on various factors, including the social structure of society, social space, level of socio-economic development, government and governance, democracy and current laws that constantly affect the modernization of society. The history of mankind is 35-40 thousand years old. In each historical period, society was at a certain stage of development, which created the appropriate socio-cultural level, which in one way or another influenced the communication in society, because without communication society can not exist. It should be noted that the socio-cultural level depends on the social structure of society, and is determined by the social space and level of cultural development in this historical time, as well as the political and economic development of the country and its environment by other countries. Society is a set of all means of interaction and forms of association of people, formed historically, having a common territory, common cultural values and social norms, characterized by socio-cultural the identity of its members. Social space was understood as a set of points on an imaginary continuum that has a given number of axes of measurement (coordinates) that describe the structure of society. Points in the social space are called statuses." There are constant information connections (communications) between the statuses. It is these communicative connections that create a certain system through which society develops. Well-known foreign scientists such as T. Hobbes, F. Ratzel, G. Simmel, E. Durkheim, R. Park, P. Sorokin, and others worked on the problem of "social space". This topic remains relevant today, because a certain historical period creates certain conditions for certain social phenomena. Thus, the purpose of this article is to try to understand the communication changes that are taking place in society today and identify the factors that affect them. As you know, in society there are constant processes of socialization, people are constantly trying to learn about the environment: both natural and social. Especially a person tries to know and understand himself, because until you understand yourself, you will not be able to understand others. In Ukraine, it is planned to create a post-traditional socio-cultural space in which modernization takes place under the sign of traditional symbols. But in our society, "community-like" psychology is combined with urbanism and technical progress, traditional, post-traditional and modern coexist with some relative independence of culture. All this creates certain communicative features. Important features of the new socio-cultural reality are beginning to be outlined in Ukraine today.

В статье рассматриваются особенности формирования социальной стратификации Древней Руси на раннем этапе развития, этапы появления различных страт в зависимости от социально-политических событий с X по XII вв. Предметом исследования является процесс образования социальных страт в древнерусском государстве. Цель статьи - рассмотреть социальное устройство Древней Руси, определить и описать стратификацию и взаимодействие страт между собой, историю изучения данного вопроса, политические события, влияющие на данные процессы. Основным вопросом исследования явились исторические события, оказавшие влияние на формирование социальных страт с X по XII вв., появление социальных страт в данный исторический период и формы их взаимодействия. Отвечая на данный вопрос, автор приходит к выводу, что разложение патриархально-общинного строя, формирование феодального вассалитета, принципа майората, княжеской дружины и другие внутриполитические события повлияли на формирование социальных страт государства. В связи с данными историческими событиями удается проследить этапы происхождения социальных слоев населения, их состав, социальные функции в обществе и государстве. The paper examines the features of the social stratification of the Ancient system at an early stage of development, the stages of the emergence of various strata depending on political events from the 10th to the 12th centuries. The subject of this research is the process of the formation of social strata in the ancient European state. The purpose of the publication is to consider the social structure of Ancient Rus, to determine and describe the stratification and interaction of strata with each other, to study this issue, political events that affect these processes. The main research issue was the historical events that influenced the formation of social strata from the 10th to the 12th centuries, the emergence of social strata in a given historical period and the forms of their interaction. Answering this question, the author arrives at the conclusion that the disintegration of the patriarchal-communal system, the formation of a feudal vassalage, the principle of primacy, the princely squad and other internal political events influenced the formation of social strata of the state. In connection with these historical events, it is possible to trace the stages of the origin of social strata of the population, their composition, social functions in society and the state.

Deveiopment planning in India, as in other developing countries, has generally been aimed at fostering an industrially-oriented policy as the engine of economic growth. This one-sided economic development, which results in capital formation, creation of urban elites, and underprivileged social classes of a modern society, has led to distortions in the social structure as a whole. On the contrary, as a result of this uneven economic development, which is narrowly measured in terms of economic growth and capital formation, the fruits of development have gone to the people according to their economic power and position in the social structure: those occupying higher positions benefiting much more than those occupying the lower ones. Thus, development planning has tended to increase inequalities and has sharpened divisive tendencies. Victor S. D'Souza, an eminent Indian sociologist, utilizing the Indian census data of 1961, 1971, and 1981, examines the problem of structural inequality with particular reference to the Indian Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes - the two most underprivileged sections of the present Indian society which, according to the census of 1981, comprised 15.75 percent and 7.76 percent of India's population respectively. Theoretically, he takes the concept of development in a broad sense as related to the self-fulfIlment of the individual. The transformation of the unjust social structure, the levelling down of glaring economic and social inequalities, and the concern for the development of the underprivileged are for the author the basic elements of a planned development. This is the theoretical perspective of the first chapter, "Development Planning and Social Transformation".


Every region and people has peculiar economic characteristics and these features largely have roots in that region‟s social structure, social psychology and its dynamics. The capitalist economy of the United States has roots in individualismand Protestant Work Ethic, influenced both by Protestant religion and the social character of the Americans; the Client Economy of Saudi Arabia has deep linkages to its tribal social structure and the so-called Bazaar Economy of Afghanistan is profoundly embedded in the Pakhtun social structure of the country. The Pakhtuns of Pakistan have a peculiar social structure and social psychology thereof having profound and extensive influence on the region‟s economy particularly its largely underdevelopedcondition. The paper explores the characteristics of Pakhtun social structure and the interactive linkages between the social edifice and economic development or lack of it.

Socio-economic, political, and socio-cultural changes that occur in specific periods over the years cause changes in social dynamics and social transformations. Generations, who are living in the same historical period and are expected to have similar consumption and lifestyle habits, are now a reference point for the companies and brands to correctly identify target consumers and choose the right communication tools. At this point, the changing technology has influenced the social structure, people and the way companies do business. Besides, the development and diversification of the means of communication by the influence of the internet technologies have caused the differentiation of the consumption behaviors and changed the connections and the ways of reaching the information. In the frame of these changes, the primary purpose is to examine consumption habits in the context of changing lifestyles and priorities of people with the effect of social transformations, as well as to explain the transformation of these changes regarding businesses, brands and communication tools.

It is believed that the economic participation of women in Pakistan has been intensively affected by an enduring male-capitalist social system. Moreover, the history of gender discrimination has been linked with the medieval cultural values that uplifted and empowered men over women in every sphere of life, especially in the economic realm. A typical case is believed to be the Pashtun culture. This chapter investigated indigenous values of Pashtun culture where women are underrepresented in the economy. Women did not see themselves as underprivileged. Rather, they perceived themselves as a vital and prestigious part of the family and the wider Pashtun society. For educated women in Pashtun society, the values system is guided by social structure, which is accounted for by stability and unity in society. Cultural values are operationalized as the mechanism of division of labor. The findings redefine female empowerment and propose a new paradigm in the global context. The indigenous value system guides the social structure which leads to stability and unity in the society.

A teoria e a práxis do planejamento, nas sociedades capitalistas modernas, refletem a consolidação de um modelo de racionalidade fundado numa visão mecanicista dos processos sociais. A matriz positivista da ciência – que busca enunciar (e predizer) os fenômenos sociais por meio de leis universais – alcançou posição hegemônica e assentou as bases do planejamento moderno. No campo da Economia Política, dominada pela perspectiva mecanicista embutida na corrente neoclássica, a busca da construção de esquemas teóricos generalistas confere ao espaço, enquanto categoria analítica, um papel secundário. O presente artigo propõe inicialmente uma discussão epistemológica, buscando avaliar criticamente o significado da incorporação de um paradigma economicista e mecanicista por parte da teoria do planejamento. Entrecortando a discussão epistemológica, procuramos, amparados na perspectiva teórica neomarxista, reafirmar o papel do espaço como categoria elementar à compreensão dialética da dinâmica capitalista, sem a qual uma teoria do planejamento incorreria em importante lacuna. O reconhecimento de que as contradições do modo de produção devem ser desvendadas pela investigação do espaço socialmente engendrado é capaz de nos conduzir a uma teoria social mais robusta no balizamento do planejamento.Palavras-chave: planejamento; dialética socioespacial; modernidade; espaço social.Abstract: In modern capitalist societies, the Planning Theory and Praxis reflects a consolidation of a “mechanical” rationality model which treats social phenomena as they could be described by universal and immutable laws. Specifically in the field on Political Economy which is dominated by neoclassical corpus, searching for general theoretical schemes tends to neglect the “space” as analytical category. Initially, this paper aims to make an epistemological discussion and to make a critical assessment of the embodiment of the “mechanical paradigm” by the Planning Theory. Moreover, this paper intends to put the space on foreground of the Social Theory, i.e., the space is taken as a fundamental category to comprehend the capitalist dynamics. Looking into socially built space allows us to reach a socio-spatial dialectics and hence a more comprehensive Social Theory and a stronger Planning Theory.Keywords: planning; socio-spatial dialectics; modernity; social space.

Abstract. With the transition from modernism to postmodernism, identity as a concept has started to become redefined in sociology literature. The aim of this study is to show that postmodernism and symbolic interactionism are fused together to delineate both the scene as well as an actor’s identity. In that way, the interaction of a social structure with a culture that won’t be completely ignored, and, with the opinion that the categorized roles can skillfully be shaped and diversified by actors, it is possible to refrain from a pure determinism. But the transformation to enter different roles lacks meaning. Individuals pay more attention to their appearance more than who they are in order to be accepted by each group. In this manner, a metaphysical shell game begins. In the following study, the “Social Appearance Anxiety” was used as an indicator of this game.  And to determine who is willing to play the game, cultural parameters were utilized.       This study was based on the analysis of the data collected through two questionnaires given to 181 students studying at Hitit University. The INDCOL questionnaire [Singelis et al., 1995] measuring cultural values and “Social Appearance Anxiety” scale developed by [Hart, 2008] were used in the study.

<p>Development of coastal tourism can give directly impact on the social and cultural life of fisherman communities and influence the attitudes of fishermen. This study intend to analyze the impact of tourism development on the social structure and cultural values as well as analyzing the attitudes of fishermen towards the tourism development. The research was conducted in Pangandaran village using survey methods. The results showed that the development of tourism impact on the social structure of fishermen namely the growth of social organization, social stratification, migration and composition of the population, as well as the livelihoods and incomes. Whereas the impact on the cultural value of fishermen include namely the waning tradition of local fishermen, fishermen lifestyle changes, and increased knowledge of fishermen. Fishermen status and income level have a real relationship with the attitude of fishermen, whereas age and education level did not have a real relationship with the attitude of fishermen.</p><p>Keywords: tourism development, impact towards social structure, impact towards cultural values, and fisherman attitudes</p>

Conventional comparisons of national industrialization strategies place a strong emphasis on the cultural development of a modern ethic of work performance as an important component of effectively attaining industrial growth. In the case of Czarist and Soviet Russia, most studies maintain that Russian workers are exceptional inasmuch as they have always lacked a modern work ethic and therefore remain necessarily less productive than the more ethically disciplined work forces of Europe, Japan, and North America. However, such studies fail to deal with the problems of Soviet industrialization and distort the actual historical processes of Western capitalist industrialization. This analysis argues that a modern work ethic has developed within the Soviet workplace since 1917. it maintains that the social origins of this cultural code of disciplined labor are to be found, in large part, in the cultural values and group practices of the radical Russian intelligentsia before 1914, a group that provided the concrete class bases of the Bolshevik reconstitution of Marxism as a culture-transforming ideology for industrializing Russia.

In my Aristocratic Society in Ancient Crete I suggested the possibility that the Dorians of the historical period entered as masters into a “caste-system” first established, according to a tradition reported by Aristotle, in Minoan times; and further, that the original Dorian land settlement was the product of the amalgamation of two systems: the native system of land tenure was adapted to the tribal institutions of the conquerors. The present article is an attempt to clarify these two propositions by presenting some of the relevant arguments. For the propositions themselves seem fundamental to a proper understanding of the conservative character of the economic and social structure of the Cretan aristocratic cities in the historical period, as compared with the radical transformation of the democratic states, and, in particular, of Athens.
