Research ethics are quite familiar and are followed by the researchers in all research institutes all over the world. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) are the major source of collecting, saving, analyzing and disseminating the results of these researches in all over world as well. Therefore, the major question is that whether ICT-Ethics/IT Ethics are also being followed by these researchers during their research work or not? To answer this question, a self-developed questionnaire was administered amongst the contemporary researchers of one of the main public sector University of Southern Punjab. Four factors related to ICT ethics were mainly asked in this questionnaire: Basic Understanding with ICT ethics; Grabbing Data Online; Copyright Acts and Plagiarism. Total 200 (97 male and 103 female) researchers of session 2016-18 participated in this research on the basis of their willingness. With the help of graphs, frequencies, average scores and percentages it was concluded that overall all sampled researchers’ knowledge falls under the category of ‘Average to Above Average’ in all factors of ICT based research ethics which were specifically observed in this study. By comparing results gender-wise; it was found that both categories fall under the category of ‘Below Average to Average’ knowledge; but values disclosed that female researchers’ knowledge was better than to male researchers.

The article describes the theoretical and methodological aspects of the development of a structural-processual model for the development of information and communication competency of future specialists in preschool education. It consists of a set of interconnected blocks (methodological, target-oriented, operational, and productive). The model has been implemented at the information-orientated, cognitive-developmental, activity-transformational and creative stages. The authors identify that at the information-orientation stage prospective specialists of preschool education acquire theoretical knowledge that reflects their awareness of information and communication technologies and scientific and methodological bases of implementation the latter in kindergartens. It is emphasized that the cognitive development stage involves intensive creation of knowledge and skills for searching, processing, transmission and preservation of information that forms the information and communication basis for future professional activity in a kindergarten due to introduction of the educational discipline "ICT in working with children” into the university curricula of preschool specialists’ training. At the activity-transformation stage, there is greater involvement of students in individual and collective educational and research activities using computer software. It allows to visualize information figuratively and vividly both during preschool specialists’ training and while working with preschool children. At the creative stage, the development of information and communication competency of future preschool teachers involves testing of the acquired experience on using ICT during the teaching practice in a kindergarten. The article presents scientific considerations of the national and foreign scholars on the essential characteristics of the concept "information and communication competency". Terminological analysis of the concepts of "modeling" and "model" has been carried out.

An important element of the policy of development and modernization of each country is the establishment of a program of balanced long-term development, which must be complementary with strategic priorities and national characteristics, as well as the real state and prospects of technical and technological development of science and industry. Therefore, manufacturing entrepreneurship today, would have to combine scientific research activities, education sector and public administration with production, in order to ensure efficient acquisition of new knowledge and skills, along the generation and production-economic valorization of innovations and diffusion and implementation of technical-technological innovations and new technologies, with priority reliance on ICT (information and communication technologies). It is obvious that sustainable competitiveness, in times of general and business globalization, is no longer in quantitative-qualitative aspects of production, but in new elements of production specialization, adequate and timely implementation of technical-technological innovations, in organizational innovations, in the way cluster business and in global efficiency, as well as in close and flexible connection of design, planning, production technologies and production, with the possibility of quick response (JustInTime and QuickResponseSystem) to the changes required by the market. That is why today the issue of redefining the way of work and business of textile/clothing industry companies is more than current, in fact the issue of redefining the strategic programs of economic development of developing countries.

The emergence of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) poses new educational challenges for teachers, to which it can respond from a consistent training model. This study has as its aim to analyze the technological, pedagogical and content knowledge needed for Primary Education teachers to integrate ICTs into teaching. A research work based on a quantitative non-experimental methodology which involved 224 Preschool and Primary Education teachers working in the province of Alicante (Spain) was performed with that aim. The important results showed that teachers are more knowledgeable in the pedagogical and content fields than in technology, which means that their level of technological knowledge does not suffice to integrate ICTs into their teaching tasks. Significant differences were additionally identified between gender and years of experience, together with the relationship between the fun use of technology and the knowledge of its essential aspects. Our findings confirm the need for a digital literacy campaign addressed to teachers, involving not only a technological type of training but also an overall pedagogical and content approach. This is in keeping with the TPACK model (Technological, Pedagogical and Content Knowledge), which appears as a reference framework to be taken into account when it comes to teachers’ professional development and its connection with the teaching-learning processes in the classroom wherever Information and Communication Technologies are present.

The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) is increasing rapidly in many spheres of contemporary life in Europe. The ethical use of ICT in all areas of its application is of growing importance. This is especially evident in the field of healthcare. The regional, national, and Europe-wide electronic aspects of health services and systems are related fundamentally to these two developments. This chapter explores the relevance of ethics to eHealth generally. It outlines two main contrasting ideas that have influenced ethical thought: Kantian ethics and consequentialism. It investigates the ways in which teaching and practice for ICT professionals and trainees can be enhanced and extended to increase the awareness of ethical issues in eHealth. It takes as examples two technological applications that are in increasing use in the eHealth field: electronic health records and radio frequency identification devices. The chapter ends with a brief discussion and conclusions about how this ethical awareness can be expanded beyond ICT professionals to other stakeholder groups, and to other eHealth technologies or applications.

Despite the popularity of, and blossoming research on the use of, information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the information society, especially in terms of e-government and e-democracy, little research has been conducted to answer questions related to the effects of ICTs on citizenship, which is said to be at risk. It is claimed that the political science research in modern democracy has narrowed citizenship down to voting, turning democracy into something to be experienced at election time only and not between elections. We need a very clear understanding of the opportunities brought by new technologies and the dangers and risks regarding the realization of citizenship and civil rights. If it is true that ICT has done little to change our democracy, and if it in itself does not guarantee the realization of the rights of the citizens, research work must be developed in order to better analyze the relationship between ICT and citizenship. Because this kind of research is almost non-existent, even in the developed world, this paper attempts to see whether e-government projects in Brazil are designed in ways which reflect our best understanding of freedom, social justice, addressing the sources of inequalities, alienation, and injustice.

Qualitative research activities, including first-day of class surveys and user experience interviews on completion of a subject were carried out to obtain students’ feedback in order to improve the design of the subject ‘Information Systems’ as a part of a general initiative to enhance ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) engineering programs. Due to the COVID-19 (corona virus disease 2019) pandemic, La Salle URL adopted an Emergency Remote Teaching tactical solution in the second semester of the 2019–2020 academic year, just before implementing a strategic learning approach based on a new Smart Classroom (SC) system deployed in the campus facilities. The latter solution was developed to ensure that both on-campus and off-campus students could effectively follow the course syllabus through the use of new technological devices introduced in classrooms and laboratories, reducing the inherent difficulties of online learning. The results of our findings show: (1) No major concerns about the subject were identified by students; (2) Interaction and class dynamics were the main issues identified by students, while saving time on commuting when learning from home and access to recorded class sessions were the aspects that students considered the most advantageous about the SC.
