Kindness, a basic element of morality, has been observed to have a greater impact on individuals’ general well-being, societal development, and integration of humanity. However, despite its phenomenal acceptance in all religions and cultures worldwide, the concept remained understudied. Therefore, qualitative research was planned to explore the phenomenon of kindness, its enabling factors, inhibiting factors, and to identify the recipients of kindness in Pakistani adolescents. An interview guide was developed in Study 1 through two Focus Group Discussions with eight girls and eight boys of 18 and 19 years to achieve the objectives. The interpretative phenomenological analysis method developed seven questions for the interview guide and then finalized through committee approach and pilot testing. In the main study, in-depth interviews were conducted on a total sample of 14 adolescents. Among which 50% were girls between 18 and 19 years (M= 18.5, SD= 0.51). The data were collected from Rawalpindi and Islamabad using a convenient sampling technique and analyzed through thematic framework analysis. The results suggested that Pakistani adolescents conceptualized kindness as benefitting oneself and others with goodness and withholding harm. Religion and socialization were reported as the prime enabling factors for being kind. In addition, the availability of resources and the perception of the recipient’s deservedness also determined kindness. Among the inhibitory factors, self-detaining tendencies, family and peer pressure, and non-availability of resources emerged. It is hoped that the present study may enhance the understanding of kindness for future research.

ObjectivesSelection of effective leadership styles within healthcare is linked to high quality, safe care for patients. Within the literature attention has been given to medical and nursing professions, failing to acknowledge the contribution made by physiotherapy leaders. This study aims to consider the leadership styles used by physiotherapists in a designated leadership role, specifically exploring the barriers they face and the strategies employed to overcome current leadership dilemmas.DesignA qualitative, phenomenological design was used. Consent was obtained from each participant for one semistructured interview which was audio recorded and transcribed verbatim. Framework analysis was used to analyse the data.SettingA large National Health Service Foundation Trust within the North East of England.ParticipantsA purposive sample of ten physiotherapy team leaders.ResultsThe theoretical leadership framework that emerged demonstrated the daily tensions experienced by physiotherapy team leaders in regard to being a transactional or transformational leader. Within this, three superordinate themes exist: the individual, the team and the organisation and beyond. Each theme contained barriers and enablers which related to transactional and transformational leadership styles, respectively.ConclusionsThe framework identified gives insight into a group of clinical leaders not yet explored and provides a foundation for the development of leadership behaviours throughout physiotherapy. These clinicians should be supported by senior leaders to develop more transformational styles which have the potential to impact on staff well-being and patient care. Future research should compare these findings with studies involving larger sample sizes that span the health and social care system.

Humour is a complex social and emotional experience which could constitute a positive resource for people endeavouring to live well with dementia. However, little is currently known about the shared use and value of humour in dyads where one person has dementia. The purpose of this study was therefore to explore how people with dementia and their care-partners experience, use and draw meaning from humour in relation to their shared experiences of dementia and their ongoing relationships. Ten participant dyads (the person with dementia and their spousal partner) took part in joint semi-structured interviews. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis revealed eight subthemes that were subsumed under three super-ordinate themes: ‘Humour Has Always Been There (and Always Will Be)’; ‘Withstanding Dementia’ and ‘Renewing the Value of Humour in Dementia’. Overall, the findings suggest that humour, in different forms, can represent a salient and enduring relationship strength that helps dyads maintain well-being and couplehood by providing a buffer against stressors associated with dementia. The findings highlight the potential value of integrating a dyadic perspective with strengths-based approaches in future research into how people live well with dementia.

Community-based green care initiative is an intervention geared towards satisfying the environmental, social, psychological, medical and material care for stimulating healthy well-being of children, adolescence and adults. Evidence-based studies have established that there is continual degeneration of self-esteem among adolescence in developing countries including Nigeria due to problems associated with unsustainable parenting styles and teaching patterns. It is in the light of this, the study examines a community-based green care initiative as a catalyst for sustainable parenting styles, teaching patterns and child self-esteem in Ogun State, Nigeria. The study adopted exploratory survey design and tested three hypotheses on the subject matter. A self-structured questionnaire and in-depth interview guide were used for data collection. Quantitative data were analysed through percentage distribution table and multiple regressions while qualitative data were analysed using direct quotes. Findings were discussed with reference to relevant empirical literatures and future research highlighted.

<p class="IABSTRAK"><strong>Abstract: </strong>This study aims to describe the source of student well-being in Javanese ado­lescents. This research uses quantitative research approach and supported by qualitative. Research location in Banyumas with cluster random sampling technique. Instrument data collection using the scale of student well-being and open source questionaire student well-being and interview guide. Quantitative data analysis using descriptive. The results of the study are: 1) The sources of student well-being are the dimensions of social relations, cognitive, emotional and spiritual. 3) The inhibiting factor of achieving student well-being is if there are problems in the social, cognitive, emotional, physical and spiritual.</p><p class="IKEYWORDS"><strong>Abstrak: </strong>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan sumber <em>student well-being</em> pada remaja Jawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dan didukung dengan kualitatif. Lokasi penelitian di Banyumas dengan teknik <em>cluster random sampling</em>. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan skala <em>student well-being</em> dan <em>openquesioner</em> sumber <em>student well-being</em> serta panduan wawancara. Analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan <em>deskriptif</em>. Hasil penelitian adalah: 1) Sumber-sumber <em>student well-being</em> adalah dimensi hubungan sosial, kognitif, emosi dan spiritual. 3) Faktor penghambat tercapainya <em>student well-being</em> adalah jika ada masalah dalam dimensi sosial, kognitif, emosi, fisik dan spiritual.</p>

Purpose Research into paedophilia mainly uses offender samples; thus, little is understood about non-offending paedophiles. The limited body of research has been conducted in North America or Europe whose health and legal systems differ from those in the UK. Using semi-structured interviews, the purpose of this study is to explore the experience of three non-offending British paedophilic males. Design/methodology/approach The interview discussed their paedophilia, refraining from offending and perspectives on treatment initiatives. Data were analysed using interpretative phenomenological analysis. Findings Three superordinate themes emerged: “paedophilia as more than a sexuality,” “acceptance leads to management” and “barriers to support.” These encapsulated how paedophilia was understood, how accepting one’s sexual attraction is tantamount to well-being and the various obstacles to providing support were discussed. Research limitations/implications Acknowledging the sampling considerations (size and recruitment), the results implicate research into paedophilia. The onset of paedophilia was chronologically associated with typical sexual attraction, and not the result of sexual abuse as some theories suggest. Furthermore, the tenets of attraction to children extending beyond sexual desire were highlighted. Practically, the results influence future research into the area and highlight the dearth in our understanding of diverse behavioural management techniques (i.e. computerised images of children or human-like dolls). Originality/value This paper presents novel insight into the aspects of paedophilia, excluding offensive behaviour and highlights the need for affordable, UK-based services targeted towards people with a paedophilic attraction to manage child sexual abuse preventatively and not reactively.

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between e-CRM and student satisfaction, to find out the relationship between service quality and student satisfaction, to find out the relationship between brand trust and student satisfaction. Methodology: The questionnaire is used as a data-gathering technique with a total sample of 88 respondents, and it is using a purposive sampling technique. The collected data are then analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 19. Main Findings: The research result shows that e-CRM is positive and has no relationship with student satisfaction, service quality is negative and has a relationship with student satisfaction, and brand trust is negative and has no relationship with student satisfaction. Applications of this study: This study can be used for the management of the Economy and Business Faculty of Budi Luhur University Jakarta as an evaluation guideline. Novelty/Originality of this study: E-CRM and brand trust variables are negative and have no relationship with student satisfaction. Some recommendations for future research are also made.

The purpose of this study was to find out the extent to which implementation of competence-based curriculum (CBC) is adequately supported by laboratory facilities among public secondary schools in Arumeru District, Tanzania, using a convergent parallel mixed design. Stratified-random sampling technique was used to select students and teachers whereas purposive sampling technique was used to select heads of schools and academic masters/mistresses. Consequently, the sample included 111 teachers, 177 students, 9 heads of schools and 9 academic masters/ mistresses making a total sample size of 306 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires, interview guide, observation checklist and focus group discussion (FGD) guide and analyzed through descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. It was found that only 34% of the teachers were trained while 66% were not trained for CBC implementation. The study concluded that, the implementation of CBC is rendered ineffective due to lack of teacher training. The study recommended that the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in collaboration with curriculum developers should organize training to all teachers for effective implementation of CBC.

Abstract Career commitment is motivating force for a person to work in that career continuously, which is based on belief in value of job that has been chosen. Career commitment is influenced by several factors such as psychological capital, subjective well-being, and job satisfaction. This study aims to examine the mediating effect of subjective well-being and job satisfaction in the relationship of psychological capital to career commitment. The population in this study were State Civil Servant (ASN) of Regional Secretariat in Banjarnegara. The sampling technique in this study used is saturated sampling technique with a total sample of 112 ASN. Methods of data analysis using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with analysis tools namely SmartPLS 3.0. The results of study indicate that psychological capital has a positive and significant influence on career commitment and also positive and significant on subjective well-being and job satisfaction. In addition, subjective well-being and job satisfaction also have a positive and significant effect on career commitment. Then, subjective well-being and job satisfaction mediate the effect of psychological capital on career commitment. Suggestions for the head of the department to hold training for work of an administrative nature in accordance with their position or duties and to create a pleasant work environment, for example, holding a State Civil Servant (ASN) gathering. If the State Civil Servant (ASN) is satisfied at work, then higher the career commitment will be.

Job satisfaction is the sense of well- being, good feeling and positive mental state that emerge in an incumbent worker when his obtained reward consequent upon his performance is congruent with his equitable reward.The aim of this study is to ascertain the levels of job satisfaction amongst quantity surveyors in consulting firms in Lagos, Nigeria. Biographical and job descriptive index questionnaires (JDI) were administered to gather the data. The JDI measures job satisfaction on five facets, namely, pay, promotions, supervision, co-workers and the work itself. A total of 100 questionnaires were collected and used for the study. The survey covered quantity surveyors in consulting firms in Lagos and the respondents were selected using stratified random sampling technique. Data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics, correlation matrix, t-test and one way anova. Findings of the study revealed that the respondents were satisfied with the relationship with co-workers, nature of work and the supervision they receive. Major sources of dissatisfaction are promotion and salaries of the respondents. This finding is a bold step and necessary benchmark for resolving major sources of dissatisfaction among quantity surveyors in consulting firms. The roles of other contextual factors on job satisfaction need to be contemplated for future research.

Abstract Introduction: Caregivers provide support for mental disorders in the form of care such as assistance in daily life activities, but during a pandemic it is a challenge in itself. Objective: To explore the caregiver's experience in caring for clients with mental disorders in remote areas during a pandemic. Methods: Using a phenomenological qualitative research design with 25 participants. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with data collection techniques using in-depth interviews and field notes then analyzed using IPA (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis). Results: This study found 6 themes, namely: Caregiver Workload and Tension, Threats to Caregivers' Physical and Psychological Well-Being, The Need for a Continuing Family Role, Holistic Care, Coping Strategy, Communication is getting harder.Conclusion: our research provides unique findings about the experience of treating mental disorders needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Caregivers of mental disorders struggle with parenting difficulties during the pandemic, which poses a threat to their well-being and potential harm to the mental disorder survivor-caregiver relationship.
