Purpose: To establish the influence of bid challenge structure on supply chain management in Kenya.Methodology: The study embraced descriptive research design in order to provide a framework to examine current conditions, trends and status of events. The respondents of the study were all published bid challenges cases decisions in PPARB website for a period of three years. The period covered 2011- 2013. The number of bid challenge decided cases was 173 for the study period. Primary data was collected using semi structured questionnaires. These questionnaires were constructed with both open and closed ended questions to enable for quantitative and qualitative analysis respectively. Data was analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Quantitative data was computed descriptively using frequencies and percentages while for inferential statistics regression analysis was conducted at a 5% (0.05) test significance level.Results: Procurement Review coefficient of 0.865 was found to be positive at significant level of 0.0012 and this indicates that Procurement Review has a positive influence on Supply chain projects, (X2) Administrative Review coefficient of 0.868 was found to be positive at significant level of 0.0022 and this indicates that Administrative Review has a positive influence on Supply chain projects, (X3) Judicial Review coefficient of 0.810 was found to be positive at significant level of 0.0019 and this indicates that Judicial Review has a positive influence on Supply chain projects. (X4) Independence of Review Authority coefficient of 0.741 was found to be positive at significant level of 0.001 and this indicates that Independence of Review Authority has a positive influence on Supply chain projects.Unique contribution to policy and practice: The study prescribes that resources need to be more utilized to enable more development and less wastage in the company. The study also recommends the company stakeholders to be actively involved in Supply chain projects.

Purpose: This study aims to examine the relation between the level of supply chain management (SCM) adoption and small & medium enterprises (SMEs) performance. SCM adoption level is expected to facilitate SMEs in improving their efficiency, thus they can obtain their competitive advantage.Design/methodology/approach: This study uses primary data in the form of questionnaires. This study only takes the SMEs engaged in commerce (retail) business in order to avoid bias in IT usage. The questionnaires are given to 88 SMEs owners whom responsible for the IT development in their companies.Findings: The result proves that SCM adoption significantly affects SMEs performance. The hypotheses testing is performed using one-way ANOVA, the result shows that there are significant differences between level initiation, diffusion, and integration with SMEs performance.Originality: This study explains the relation between supply chain management (SCM) adoption level and SMEs performance that has never been performed before.

Background: The implementation of green supply chain management activities as a business strategy remains unfamiliar to many small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries such as South Africa. Setting: Implementation of green supply chain management activities by South African SMEs is necessary, given both the high failure rate of such enterprises in the country and the proven ability of such activities to promote the success of businesses. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between green supply chain management activities, operational performance and supply chain performance in manufacturing SMEs in South Africa. Methods: Data were collected from 219 manufacturing SMEs operating within Gauteng. A confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to assess the psychometric properties of measurement scales. Hypotheses were tested using structural equation modelling. Results: Four green supply chain management activities, namely green purchasing, reverse logistics, environmental collaboration with suppliers and green manufacturing, exerted a positive influence on operational performance. Environmental collaboration with suppliers exerted the highest influence on operational performance when compared to green purchasing, reverse logistics and green manufacturing. In turn, operational performance exerted a strong positive influence on supply chain performance. Conclusion: The results of the study suggest that manufacturing SMEs in developing countries could benefit by adopting green supply chain management activities, with improvements being realised in terms of increases in both operational and supply chain performance.

This research aims to analyse the impact of the COVID‑19 Pandemic on Supply Chain Performance of the Auto Parts Industries of Thailand. The primary data collected from an online questionnaire sent to 400 samples obtained by a stratified sampling method selected from tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 auto parts manufacturers. The structural equation model applied for analysis. The results showed that the COVID‑19 Pandemic, Environment performance, Negative performance, and operation performance affected supply chain performance. For suggestions from this research, first of all, the company's knowledge of internal management. And government involvement has a direct impact on the performance of the auto parts supply chain. The government's participation as factors of external influence also has an immediate effect on supply chain management. Company practices show that governments have played an essential role in promoting the auto parts industry's survival since its upstream. Midstream and downstream pressure has an indirect effect on corporate and consumer of supply chain management practices.

The study explores the main drivers that affecting the level of participation in green supply chain management of Vietnamese electronics manufacturing enterprises. The research team divided into two groups of factors, which are internal and external pressures. With primary data obtained from 544 electronics manufacturing enterprises in the Red River Delta and Southeast regions of Vietnam, the team applied two modeling software, SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 25.0. Combined with secondary data, the research team found that business type, size, environmental regulations, market pressures, and efficiency-oriented motivations all affect the level of management involvement. green supply chain. Since then, the research team has developed recommendations based on these groups of variables with the goal of promoting the participation of enterprises in the green supply chain management model.

In manufacturing company, quality of product could become their competitive advantage to compete in the market. To achieve good quality of products and activities, company need to have system or strategy to manage their supply chain activity and make it more effective and efficient flow of production and improve the quality of information sharing, production time, and products, so the company can improve their performance. This study conducted to find out the mediating effect of supply chain quality integration on supply chain management practices to achieve performance. Researcher was using PLS Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to analyze data. The sample of this research was consumer goods manufacturing in Indonesia and using primary data with questionnaire as data collection method. After analysis using PLS-SEM, researcher was found that supply chain management practices affect operational performance; and supply chain quality integration has mediating effect on the effect of supply chain management practices on operational performance of company.

The beverage industry is one of the leading national industries with high growth and a very tight level of competition. The risk supply chain management approach is one of the driving factors for the sustainability of the industrial supply chain. The purpose of this study is to analyze the risk supply chain management to support the sustainability of the beverage industry supply chain in the case of fruit juice beverage products. The data used in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained from distributing questionnaires, interviews and field observations. The respondents of this research are the beverage industry supply chain stakeholders. This research combines qualitative and semi-quantitative approaches. Qualitative analysis is conducted to describe activities and risks in the beverage industry supply chain. Risk analysis is carried out using a semi-quantitative approach. The risk evaluation in the supply chain of the fruit juice beverage industry combines the SCOR-FMEA method. The risks that are classified as High and Priority are then analyzed by using the Fishbone Diagram as a reference for formulating risk mitigation strategies for the sustainability of the supply chain for the juice beverage industry.

The purpose of this study are: (1) Identify the supply chain model of coconut desiccated at PT. XYZ and (2) to analyze the supply chain management of desiccated coconut at PT. XYZ. The research was conducted over 2 months ie from September to November 2016 and is located in PT. XYZ (pseudonym), in North Sulawesi. The data used in this research are primary and secondary data. The primary data obtained through field observation and direct interviews. Interviews were conducted with the company related logistics company to find a picture of the supply chain and supply chain management is done by the company. In addition, the researchers also conducted interviews with coconut farmers and collectors to determine the condition of the current coconut price as well as the flow of raw material coconuts from the famers to supplier. Secondary data were obtained from the relevant literature, as well as documents and reports that are owned by companies and agencies. This study focuses on the management of the flow of material and information flow of the supply chain of coconut flour at PT. XYZ. The results of observations and interviews were analyzed with descriptive qualitative analysis methods. The results showed that (1) Members of coconut flour supply chain at. XYZ, namely (a) the raw material supplier of coconut spread in some areas, (b) PT. XYZ for purchasing, sales, shipping and production, (c) Expediting Services to send products from Bitung harbor, next to the port of Tanjung Priok to be exported to the country of destination, (d) The customer, in this case the food companies that require raw materials coconut flour to be produced into chocolate bars, cookies, dessert, and so forth. (2) (a) Selection of supplier PT. XYZ is good enough, because every supplier who will supply the raw material to go through the interview stage, made a deal with the company and agree to the terms proposed by the company. PT. XYZ also maintain good relations with its suppliers with visits annually; (b) the flow of material and information flow is managed by PT. XYZ is good enough. Any information purchasing, sales, shipping and finance centered PT.XYZ headquarters is located in Manado and PT. XYZ manage information about the quantity of raw materials available in the warehouse and general condition of the plant.

Purpose There is an acknowledged need to advance the supply chain management (SCM) learning agenda, with an emphasis on integration. This paper discuss an Australian university–industry collaboration aimed at accelerating SCM learning and offers some insight into models for building a forward-looking SCM. Design/methodology/approach The research is an exploratory case study of the industry–university collaboration, using grounded theory procedures. The primary data involved 25 interviews with key participants from the university and industry partners, and from the first cohort of students in the undergraduate program developed within the collaboration. Findings A theoretical framework for accelerating SCM learning was developed from the case study data; it comprises six constructs that influence, at strategic and operational levels, the acceleration of SCM learning. Four cross-construct concepts from the framework that form the cornerstones of accelerated learning are discussed in some detail. Research limitations/implications The framework facilitates an examination of successes and shortfalls in the case study collaboration and generates a deeper understanding of critical elements for progressing the SCM learning agenda, and expanding SCM education. As with all qualitative research, the results may not be generalisable; testing the relevance and usefulness of the framework with the field will be an important next step. Practical implications As the framework identifies conditions, characteristics and capacities of organisations and individuals that support the acceleration of SCM learning, it can provide assistance in designing future university–industry collaborations for advancing SCM learning. Originality/value The framework identifies critical success factors for alliances and partnerships aimed at accelerating learning in an emerging body of knowledge such as SCM.

Industry Revolution (IR) 4.0 is revolutionizing the information infrastructure and the systems in supply chain management. However, the employment of the new technology is not sufficient to impact Supply Chain Management Performance (SCMP). Organizations need to build capabilities like integration both Upstream (UI) and Downstream (DI) for the technology to increase SCMP. The Green Practices (GP) are also becoming part of global corporate culture as all stakeholders demand sustainability in the value chain. The study tests IR 4.0, UI, DI, and GP to understand its impact and relationship with SCMP. For the statistical testing conducts on primary data collected from Malaysian firms. AMOS structural equation model is used to test the model and infer the results. The test concludes that IR 4.0 along with UI, DI, and GP impacts SCMP positively.

Optimizing the use of land transport with the management of logistics and supply chain management of the warehouse to the port of Tanjung Priok can minimize cost, time, and quantity. Then the delivery of goods is faster,  more focused and more precise. This research uses descriptive quantitative and data is collected from secondary and primary data using SPPSS software 27.00 version. Based on the three proposed research hypotheses, it is proved that the efficiency variable (X1) and variable discipline (X2) --- either individually or together --- have an influence to the shipment of goods from the warehouse in Tangerang to the Port of Tanjung Priok (Y).
