The study was conducted to assess the agronomic indices and nutritional values of plant parts fractions of three varieties of sorghum fodder in late stages of growth in humid tropics. The experiment was 2 x 3 factorial scheme fitted into a completely randomize design, comprising of two (2) plant fractions (stem and leaf) and three (3) varieties of sorghum (Samsorg-17, 44 and 45). Agronomic parameters (plant height, leaf length, leaf width, stem circumference, fresh leaf number and dried leaf number) were monitored from 10 – 16 weeks after planting (WAP), 16 WAP leaf and stem were sampled for proximate composition, fibre fractions, mineral profile, anti-nutritional factors and in-vitro digestibility. Results obtained showed a significant difference (P<0.05) in all the agronomic indices across the weeks of growth. Plant height was higher (P<0.05) for Sarmsorg-45 (131.25 cm) and lower (P<0.05) for Samsorg-17 (107.25 cm). There were no significant differences (P>0.05) in dry matter, crude protein (CP), ether extract, ash, neutral detergent fibre and non-fibre carbohydrate among the varieties. Leaf fraction had higher (P<0.05) contents of CP (17.53%). Stem had higher (P<0.05) values of all fibre fractions except acid detergent fibre. There was a significant (P<0.05) influence of varieties on the Ca, P, Fe, Cu and Mn. Leaf fraction had higher (P<0.05) contents of P (1.06%), K (0.37%), Na (1.75%), Cu (13.01 mg/kg) and Zn (17.53 mg/kg). Plant fractions were significantly (P<0.05) influenced by the anti-nutritional factors. Leaf fraction had higher (P<0.05) contents of phytate (0.79%), oxalate (0.60%), tannins (0.60%), trypsin inhibitor (15.98 mg/g) and dhurrin (6.97 ìg/g). Post in-vitro characteristics were not significantly (P>0.05) influenced by varieties. Leaf fractions had higher (P<0.05) in-vitro organic matter digestibility (47.39%) IOMD compared to stem (39.65%). Conclusively, all the varieties of sorghum exhibited a good agronomic indices and nutritional value that characterized sorghum as a fodder in humid tropic. Farmers should be encouraged to use leaf fractions of sorghum than stem. Samsorg-17 is recommended because of height.

The in vitro dry matter digestibility (I.V.D.) of the immature stems of timothy, orchardgrass, and bromegrass was higher than that of the leaves. However the rate of decline of digestibility with advancing maturity was greater with stems. At head emergence the I.V.D. of the leaves of orchardgrass was similar to that of the stems. Wide differences existed, though, in the I.V.D. of leaf and stem fractions of orchardgrass at more advanced stages of growth. Digestibilities of the plant parts of both timothy and bromegrass were not greatly different at any growth stage.The digestibility of leaves of alfalfa decreased only slightly as the season progressed. However, the I.V.D. of the stems declined rapidly early in the season. Unlike the grasses, the stems of alfalfa never attained as high a digestibility as the leaves at the early growth stages.The crude protein content of both leaf and stem portions of the various grass species was similar.As the season progressed, orchardgrass had the highest leaf to stem ratio and bromegrass the lowest. Even within a species, leaf content was a rather poor indicator of digestibility.

This research is aimet to known the responsed of cucumber plant (Cucumis sativus L.), the good means for the growth and yield of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L) of the hybrid varieties doses of good means. This study uses a randomized block design (RAK) with one factor and 5 replications. The main factors, namely: goat manure. First repeat that: without fertilizer (P0), manure goat 10 ton / ha (P1), manure goat 20 ton / ha (P2), manure goat 30 ton / ha (P3), and the latter is manure goat 40 ton / ha (P4). The parameters observed were plant height, leaf number, fruit weight, fruit length and diameter of the fruit. Data analysis by using analysis of variance (ANOVA), if the effect followed by Least Significant Difference Test (BNT). The results based on the analysis of variance showed that: 1) Treatment of manure goat (P) significantly affected the growth and yield of cucumber plants include all the parameters of observation starting plant height, leaf number, fruit weight, fruit length and fruit diameter. Dose goat manure 40 t / ha is the best concentration to produce the highest average values for all parameters. The lowest value of all parameters are shown on the dose P0 (without manure goat / control).

Research about influence of goat manure and NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of green eggplant (Solanum mengolena L.) has been conducted in field village farmer-owned Semen Gandusari District of Blitar which took place in March-April 2016. The aim of this study was to know the interaction for among goat manure and NPK fertilizer on the growth and yield of green eggplant as well as the effect of each factor. This study uses Randomaized Complete Block Design (RCBD) factorial consisting of 16 treatment and each 3 replicates ie: P0M0, P0M1, P0M2, P0M3, P1M0, P1M1, P1M2, P1M3, P2M0, P2M1, P2M2, P2M3, P3M0, P3M1 , P3M2, P3M3. The data taking were plant height, leaf number, fruit length, fruit diameter and weight of fruit per plant. The data were analyzed to F test as followed by a 5% test Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) error level of 5%. The experimental results very significant effect on plant height, leaf number, fruit length and weight of fruits per plant and the effect is not noticeable to the diameter of fruit plants green eggplant. The combined use goat manure 750 g / plant and NPK fertilizer 60 g / plant (P2M3) is proper fertilization to improve the growth and best yield of green eggplant with the highest total weight of the fruit crop that yields 1576.6 grams

The in vitro dry matter digestibility (I.V.D.) of the stem and total leaf fractions of four orchardgrass clones was similar at the preheading stage. Even at 100% head emergence, differences in I.V.D. between stems and living leaves were not great with the early-maturing clones. However, wide differences existed between the values for stems and living leaves in mature plants. Heads were only slightly higher than stems in digestibility.Leaf digestibility was lower for those leaves dead or even partially dead. Nevertheless, in mature plants, dead leaves were higher in I.V.D. than heads or stems. Large differences occurred among clones in stem digestibility. However, the variability among clones in leaf digestibility was small.

Five native grasses and one sedge of the Stipa-Bouteloua prairie, three introduced grasses collected at five stages of growth, and four shrubby species collected at three stages of growth were analyzed for proximate chemical constituents.The amounts of phosphorus and digestible and crude protein of all species decreased with maturity, while the cellulose increased. Introduced grasses generally contained more crude protein than native grasses. Shrubby species were higher in crude protein and phosphorus than native grasses. No consistent trend was observed in relative total ash and calcium content at progressive stages of development. The estimated nutritive value index was high for all grasses and low for two Artemisia species. The seasonal declines in crude protein and phosphorus suggest that protein and phosphorus supplements are desirable for range cattle during the fall, winter, and early spring.

Alfalfa dry matter production, plant height, protein content, and in vitro digestibility (IVD) were measured in first- and second-year plantings of six alfalfa cultivars grown under natural potato leafhopper infestation with and without methoxychlor treatment for control of the pests. All treated plots yielded more dry matter than the untreated check, except Angus in 1978. Plant height and protein content were higher and IVD was less in the treated plots. All cultivars were susceptible to leafhopper infestation; however, Angus was the least affected. Leafhopper injury was season-specific and damage carry-over from one season to another occurred but was less than from one cut to the next.

In a study that included C4 tropical grasses, C3 temperate grasses and C3 pasture legumes, in vitro dry matter digestibility of extrusa, measured as in vitro dry matter loss (IVDML) during incubation, compared with that of the forage consumed, was greater for grass extrusa but not for legume extrusa. The increase in digestibility was not caused by mastication or by the freezing of extrusa samples during storage but by the action of saliva. Comparable increases in IVDML were achieved merely by mixing bovine saliva with ground forage samples. Differences were greater than could be explained by increases due to completely digestible salivary DM. There was no significant difference between animals in relation to the saliva effect on IVDML and, except for some minor differences, similar saliva effects on IVDML were measured using either the pepsin–cellulase or rumen fluid–pepsin in vitro techniques. For both C4 and C3 grasses the magnitude of the differences were inversely related to IVDML of the feed and there was little or no difference between extrusa and feed at high digestibilities (>70%) whereas differences of more than 10 percentage units were measured on low quality grass forages. The data did not suggest that the extrusa or saliva effect on digestibility was different for C3 grasses than for C4 grasses but data on C3 grasses were limited to few species and to high digestibility samples. For legume forages there was no saliva effect when the pepsin–cellulase method was used but there was a small but significant positive effect using the rumen fluid–pepsin method. It was concluded that when samples of extrusa are analysed using in vitro techniques, predicted in vivo digestibility of the feed consumed will often be overestimated, especially for low quality grass diets. The implications of overestimating in vivo digestibility and suggestions for overcoming such errors are discussed.

This study was undertaken to assess whether the nutritional quality of spinifex pasture lands is improved by buming to promote the growth of grasses other than spinifex. We selected two comparable sites in the Exmouth Gulf region of Western Australia; one had been bumt in late 1979 and the other had not been burnt for many years. On these sites we sampled the five grass species present, as well as Triodia pungens (soft spinifex) and Plectrachne >chinzii (Oat eared spinifex) on 10 occasions from March 1980 to April 1982. Plant parts were analysed for nitrogen, phosphorus and sulphur content, and in vitro digestibility. None of the common grass species tested was more nutritious or more palatable than soft spinifex. It seems that little is gained from manipulating spinifex pastures through burning if the aim is to encourage alternative grass species. There is a need however for further studies into the importance of woody herbs and forbs in the nutrition of grazing animals on spinifex country and the effect of fire on these species.

SUMMARY This study aimed to evaluate the pasture productive and nutritional characteristics of Brachiaria brizantha cv. BRS Piatã in integrated systems with different densities of trees. Considering as plot the systems: integrated crop-livestock-forest with rows of trees (eucalyptus) spaced at 14 m and 357 trees ha-1 (ICLF-14m), ICLF with rows of trees spaced at 22 m and 227 trees ha-1 (ICLF-22m) and the integrated crop-livestock (ICL) with five remaining native trees ha-1; period of the year as subplots, and sampling points as subsubplots (A, B C, D, and E) arranged perpendicular to trees alleys. It was evaluated the production of forage and leaf blade dry mass, leaf:stem ratio, soil coverage, radiation photosynthetically active interception, canopy height, crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), in vitro digestibility of organic matter (IVDOM) of the leaf blade, and stem associated with the leaf sheath. There was a significant difference (P<0.05) for all variables due to the month within the integrated systems. Mainly in January and March, showing the forage and leaf blade dry mass reduction due to a higher trees density. System with higher trees density showed the lowest soil coverage and canopy height sampling points A and E in ICLF-22m showed lower forage and leaf blade dry mass production and soil coverage. The system with higher trees density showed lower value of NDF of the leaf blade, and higher CP contents. The IVDOM of the leaf blade was higher in ICLF systems. For the evaluated parameters the best results were for the ICLF-22m.

The Effect of NPK-Zeo Fertilizer on Growth and Production of Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.)  in Iwoimopuro Village, Kolaka District. This research aimed to determine the effect of liquid fertilizer NPK-ZEO growth and result of cucumbers. This research has taken place in the village Iwoimopuro, District Wolo, Kolaka District. This research is compiled using a Randomized Block Design (RBD). Obser rations were made on plant height, leaf number, age of the plant begins to flower, age of the plant begins to bear fruit, fruit number and fruit weight. The data were processed using the Finger Print Car List (Anova) followed by Least Significant Difference Test (LSD). The results showed that administration of NPK-ZEO significant effect on plant height, leaf number, age of the plant begins to flower, age of the plant begins to bear fruit, fruit number and fruit weight
