The purpose of this study was to investigate the frequency of intestinal parasites in public transport buses in the city of Belém, Pará, Brazil, as well as to compare the frequency of these enteroparasites according to the bus lines, collection sites within the vehicles, and presence of pathogenic and nonpathogenic parasites in the samples. This is a cross-sectional analytical study carried out between February and April 2019, in which 320 samples were analyzed, from 5 bus lines, 8 buses each, collected from 8 different surfaces inside the vehicles, according to Graham’s method. Subsequently, the statistical test was performed to evaluate the differencesbetween the variables, considering p ≤ 0.05. The results indicated that 7.8% of the samples were parasitized and the right handrail presented the highest prevalence of parasites, namely 2.2%. The pathogenic parasites corresponded to 26.7% and the non-pathogenic 73.3%. The non-pathogenic parasite most commonly found was Entamoeba coli totaling 50%, whereas the only pathogenic parasite was Giardia intestinalis in 26.7%. Thus, the presence of pathogenic and non-pathogenic parasites reflects the precarious hygiene of users of this type of transport, presenting a public health issue which needs to be addressed. KEY WORDS: Intestinal Diseases, Fomites, Transmission, Pathogenic parasites, Enteroparasite

Urban mobility and the right to the city: an interview with Lucio Gregori on (free) public transportAbstract: In this article, we present and discuss an interview with Lúcio Gregori, in 2015, the proposer of the Tarifa Zero (Zero-Fare Public Transit) Bill. We seek to understand the emergence of the proposal, in the 1990s, and its consequences. Therefore, we discuss some of the expressions of support and resistance to the adoption of the proposal, as well as its technical formulation, the power games involved, and the financing arrangements that would allow it. The characteristics of the “business” of transport and of the companies operating in this sector are also examined. We situate the proposal of Zero-Fare in the debate on urban mobility, linking it to the struggle for the right to the city. In addition, we discuss the hegemony of private individual transport and some of its consequences. Keywords: urban mobility; Zero-Fare; right to the city; bus; public transport.

Transport issues in urban centers are rising at an exponential rate and are characterized by congestion, high motorized vehicles growth, vehicular and noise pollution, road accidents and parking space constraints. Present public transport and Non-Motorized Transport (NMT) modes are inefficient and do not cater to the needs of 31.23% of urbanized population in India, which is poised to grow up to 71% by 2031 (MoUD, 2015). Lack of accessibility in public transport and NMT has compelled commuters to opt for private transport modes such as twowheelers and cars, in order to have access to work, education and other leisure activities. The paper aims to assess the finances allocated to urban transport system in the city of Pune under the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The authors intend to critically review the city budget and its contribution to sustainable modes of urban transport. The key research questions are: - a) whether the budget distributes enough revenue to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of public transport modes and NMT as guided in the National Urban Transport Policy (NUTP) of 2006? b) does the local government continue to invest in temporary urban transport solutions catering to the needs of private modes of transportation? The results further show that PMC’s budget allocation is not favoring sustainable modes of transport as much as it is catering to other urban transport infrastructure and utilities. The paper concludes with recommendation on ways of innovative financing methods to make public transport sustainable and discusses various case studies of best practices followed globally pertaining to sustainable urban transport system.

OBJECTIVES: to evaluate attitudes in childcare and primary care in pediatrics, as well as aspects of training and medical education for residents in pediatrics consistent with the current medical paradigm. METHODS: the subjects were 133 residents of six pediatrics residency services in the city of Porto Alegre, RS. A cross-sectional, descriptive study was performed consisting of a questionnaire and an attitude measurement scale (Likert scale). Thirty propositions related to the issues of child care and primary care in pediatrics were simultaneously submitted to small groups of residents at their residency settings. RESULTS: women outnumbered men in a ratio of three to one in the residency programs. The majority aimed at a specialty in pediatrics, principally the ones involving high-tech procedures. Choices were influenced by prior training and by professors or tutors, although they stated they would like to work in prevention in the future. As for the scale, 87% had the right attitudes, both positive and negative, according to the Golden standard applied. CONCLUSIONS: the result obtained in this study related to attitude was very satisfactory but future professional choices are a concern to the medical educational system. The authors suggest that studies on attitude be further developed and improved to become a source of input for new strategies in the area of pediatrics education.

The correlation between humoral immune response with the level of of thrombocytopenia on dengue hemorrhagicfever patient The aim of this study was to know the correlation between humoral immune response with the level of ofthrombocytopenia on dengue hemorrhagic fever patient. This is a cross sectional analytical study on internal inpatientsof AwalBros Pekanbaru Hospital in August-November 2008. Population was all internal inpatients of AwalBros PekanbaruHospital with working diagnosis dengue hemorrhagic fever. There were 4 pattern of anti Dengue antibody : IgG-/IgM,IgG-/IgM+, IgG+/IgM-, IgG+/IgM+. Most of patients with IgG+/IgM+ and have secondary dengue infection Thoseresult were analyzed by Friedman statistical test. There isn’t a significant correlation between the level ofthrombocytopenia and anti dengue antibody. It show that there wasn’t a direct correlation between them. It could bedue to a cross reaction between anti dengue antibody with thrombocyte (autoantibody).

The research is based on secondary budget data of the year 2016-17 and the data so collected, has been analyzed on various financial parameters. The results show that PMC’s budget allocation is not favoring sustainable modes of transport as much as it is catering to other urban transport infrastructure and utilities. The study thereby suggests sufficient allocation of the city’s budget towards the creation of sustainable transportation. Lastly, the paper concludes with recommendation on ways of innovative financing methods to make public transport, sustainable and discusses various case studies of best practices followed globally pertaining to sustainable urban transport system.
