Since more than a decade, all kinds of businesses and organisations are intensively exploring enterprise-level information systems to better integrate their business processes, information flows and people. Consequently, the industry demands for technically skilled, but also “business-savvy” IT professionals are permanently growing. To meet this need, more and more computing education programs try to incorporate enterprise-level information systems into their curricula. While there is some computing education research done to investigate the need for this new type of IT-business professional and to analyse general implications for higher education, only very few research works or practice papers exist which report on concrete attempts to design and deliver higher education computing courses which intensively use enterprise-level systems. In this paper, the author reports on a series of experiences made within the Bachelor of Science (Information Systems Management) degree program offered by the School of Information Systems (SIS) at the Singapore Management University (SMU). The primary focus of this paper is put on establishing a working set of best practices for the design of an effective structure of the face-to-face teaching sessions for courses which use enterprise-level systems and applications in their curricula. While this paper is principally based on education experiences made within the frame of an Information Systems program, the best practices presented in this paper are equally applicable to any other computing education field or even to the engineering education in general.

Directorate General of Institutional Affairs of Science, Technology and Higher Education in performing tasks and institutional functions requires the availability of data quickly and accurately. Along with the passage of time, the need for information systems of university data management is very necessary especially the data of colleges in violation. Currently, the management is manually stored into excel files which of course have a lot of limitations. This practice resulted in problems in the supervision of the process as well as the problems at the college in violation. To overcome these problems, it is required the design of information systems for problematic colleges that can meet existing business processes. This research used the design of requirements information system that meets the existing processing needs. This design employs the Rational Unified Process method, where the design follows the workflow requirements and is done iteratively as much as 3 iterations. The results of the study are the Requirement Artefact Set document that elaborates in detail the needs of the problematic college information system.

The higher education program in Indonesia is developing and growing very rapidly and which is followed by the increasing business needs of the organization. Increasing the data and information in business functions which is conducting by college became the use of information systems the college. The lack of planning in appropriate developing information system process will obstruct on completing university’s strategies. In this study, the method of collecting data and information is observing and interviewing system users and collecting documents related to business processes. The design of enterprise architecture uses the Zachman Framework with the perspective of the planner (scope), owner (business model), and designer (system model). The researchers expect that the result can be a roadmap for the planning design which is proposed to make it easier for students and employees. Keywords: Blueprint, Strategic Planning, Enterprise Architecture, Zachman Framework

In higher education, information systems become a strategic tool for the continuity of universities or institutions themselves, especially in the running business processes. The disruption of information systems in higher education will have a bad impact, especially for the continuity of business processes, information systems that initially as a tool will then turn into a threat and even become a risk if it is not properly addressed and mitigated. The problem that arises is that University of Muhammadiyah Tangerang has never conducted a system risk analysis assessment of existing information, including policies relating to information technology security. This study aims to provide information to the University of Muhammadiyah Tangerang regarding the risks, threats and weaknesses of information technology found and recommendations that can be applied to mitigate risks that can arise. This study uses the octave-s risk analysis method combined with ISO 27001: 2013 control standards. The results of this study are in the form of a final document that can be used as a guideline and help in the future development of a risk analysis assessment at UMT. The results of the evaluation obtained, it is known that risk management is in the MEDIUM position, meaning that UMT does not experience risks that can stop / damage information systems that have an impact on the cessation of teaching and learning, but risks and weaknesses in universities can have an impact on decreasing university performance immediately.

Printing service order information systems sometimes experience problems in completing running business processes including, frequent loss and inaccuracy in registering orders from customers, often also losing order data from customers, recording orders often experience errors, resulting inaccurate reporting of order data. A computerized ordering service information system will greatly help improve performance and accuracy in making reports on business processes running at a company. The existence of enterprise modeling of information systems ordering printing services with the TOGAF framework will be a method that greatly helps management make a decision that will synergize with the business process activities at the company. So that the objectives of the system can be achieved properly. The TOGAF framework can be a solution and will help to produce a system architecture design, a business process architecture, a technology architecture, a number of proposed business opportunity strategy proposals and an ongoing system change proposal.

Semarang City Public Works Department is a state-owned enterprise that works in the area of public services in the city of Semarang. Most of the technological conditions in the Public Works Department are still in manual data management, which is hampering business processes from going well. Therefore this research was conducted to design an Information System at the Semarang City Public Works Department using the Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) method which includes a SWOT analysis and Value Chain analysis. The existing framework in the Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) method can help align the data architecture and application architecture to get the expected results, which is achieving the business objectives of the City of Semarang Public Works Department so that business functions can run by the desired business processes. This research resulted in several proposals for the development of Information Systems and Information Technology in organizations including the development of several applications in the next 5 years.

The research goal is to identify and analyze the need of accounting information system related to the revenue cycle at PT XYZ. This paper designing the useful of accounting information systems to support the current business processes, especially on the revenue cycle process. The design method is an Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) which refers to the modeling and design requirements discipline. And the result achieved by analysis and design of accounting information systems can support current activities of the revenue cycle, especially for the documentation and store of transaction data, and generate reports in accordance with company requirements. Conclusions derived from the analysis and design is the implementation of a webbased application that can help PT XYZ to do the work in different places, such as marketing office, head office and especially at the exhibition. PT Hema Indonesia is manufacturing company established in 2001 and has continued to grow. Nowadays the company has supported business processes in various companies, such as the use of information systems. The purpose of this research is to get an overview of the performance of information systems in order to determine the extent of maturity level which is currently running, with a few aspects to consider such as effectiveness and, efficiency. Implementing IT governance, however, is a challenge to organizations. To ensure IT alignment with business goals use standard COBIT. The analytical tool used is the standard procedure COBIT issued by ISACA. In this paper the method to be used is COBIT 4.1. Coverage of Audit IT Domain are Plan Organize (PO), such as PO4, PO5, PO7 and PO8. The conclusion that can be drawn from the research that has been done is IT governance at the company has been done, although still run optimally within each IT process contained in the sub domain average on level repeatable and defined proses.

The creation of information models requires the use of known methods and the development of new methods of formalizing the pre-design research process. The modeling process consists of four stages: data collection on the object of management - pre-project research; creation of a graphical model of business processes taking place in the enterprise; development of a formal model of business processes; business research by optimizing the formal model. To support the creation of workflow management services and systems, the complex offers methodologies, standards and specialized software that make up the developer's tools. This can be ensured only by modern automated methods based on information systems. It is important that the information collected is structured to meet the needs of potential users and stored in a form that allows the use of modern access technologies. Before discussing the effectiveness of FIM, it should be noted that the basic concept of information itself is still not the same. In a pragmatic way, it is a set of messages in the form of an important document for the system. Information can be evaluated not only by volume, but also by various parameters, the most important of which are: timeliness, relevance, value, aging, accuracy, etc. in addition, the information may be clear, probable and accurate. The methods of its reception and processing are different in each case.
