Chromolaena odorata Linn is considered an environmental weed that is traditionally used as a treatment of numerous environmental conditions such as wound healing functions and amelioration of inflammation. In this study, Chromolaena odorata linn was discovered as an alternative and natural product of mosquitocide. Based on the results gathered and obtained the stem, leaves, and roots are proven to be effective to use rather than using only one part of the plant. Furthermore, the data gathered shows that it only took a small amount of time to kill the mosquito using all parts of the Chromolaena odorata linn extract. The mosquitocidal activity of Chromolaena odorata linn had shown its potential significance, eco-friendly, and cost-effective with the presence of botanical phytochemicals (alkaloids, cardiac glycosides, anthocyanin, tannin, and flavonoids) as a source of controlling the mosquito population Keywords: botanical potency, mosquitocidal, chromolaena odorata Linn, mosquitos.

In the recent years attempt to find cost-effective and ecological ways to deal with noxious waste led mankind to focus on the use of microbes for the degradation of pollutants. These environmental friendly remediation methods employs the microbial naturally occurring catabolic capabilities to alter, vitiate or accrue a large number of pollutants including poly aromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, radio nuclides ,heavy metals etc. High-through put analyses of environmentally relevant microbes provides an insight of their major degradative pathways as well as their competence to acclimate to altering environmental conditions.

Abstract The use of L-fuzzy concept analysis for the determination of the formulations of gelatin-based films that fulfillspecifc functional properties is reported. The requirements of water contact angle (CA), water vapourtransmission rate (WVTR), L* and b* colour values, tensile strength (TS), elongation at break (EB) and glossvalues were specified for both fatty food packaging and wound healing applications. Once the requiredformulations were estimated by L-fuzzy concepts, the experimental results showed a high accordance with thepredicted values of the nal properties, as well as with the requirements. The errors were lower than 20% in allcases, except in colour (for food packaging) and gloss and elongation at break (for wound healing), in whichthe nal properties were even better that the estimations. This analysis allowed nding the requiredformulations in a highly cost-effective way.

Invasive alien weeds are non-native organisms that cause potential harm to the environment, economics and human health. Its ability to outcompete native species for space, water, nutrients, and other essential resources, adaptability to a variety of environmental conditions, absence of natural predators and parasites and prolific seed producing characteristics, once established it is very difficult to control or eliminate. Eradication through utilization is the present concept of management of invasive alien weeds. Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms, Salvinia molesta D.S. Mitchell, Parthenium hysterophorus L., Mikania micrantha Kunth, Chromolaena odorata (L.), Mimosa invisa Mart. Ex Colla and Lantana camara L. are the major invasive alien weeds of Kerala. The literature about the bio-utilization of these major invasive alien weeds is reviewed in this paper.

The wound care market is rapidly expanding due to the development of innumerable dressings that exhibit specific healing requirements for different wound types. The use of biomaterials as suitable wound dressing material is highly advantageous due to their biocompatibility, biodegradability, and non-toxicity. Cyanobacteria have been widely explored for their potential applications in wound healing, as they are the rich source of bioactive compounds with antibacterial, antitumor, antiviral, antioxidant, and antifungal activities. In recent years this group of organisms has been widely studied due to their immense potential in biomedical applications. Although their different bioactivities can support wound healing in different ways, very few forms have proven utility as a wound-healing agent. This chapter gives an insight into the potential of cyanobacteria in wound healing. Different bioactive compounds present in variable forms of cyanobacteria and their associated activities were reported to support tissue regeneration and wound healing acceleration. As the demand for cost-effective, bioactive wound care products is ever increasing, these organisms have immense potential to be utilized for the development of bioactive wound dressings. Hence, various bioactive compounds of cyanobacteria, their associated activities, and roles in wound healing have been briefly reviewed in this chapter.

This paper presents a secure and reliable home automation system in order to make everyone’s life simpler and fulfil the needs of the disabled or the elderly. The paper proposes a system based on efficient smart watch that uses arduino microcontroller which is embedded with a WIFI module and enables us to control a number of home appliances such as lights, fans and others using on/off relay. In our work, the appliances need not to be smart beforehand as arduino would be externally connected to them such that the system designed would be controlled by gestures i.e. users can control the working of the appliances by moving their hand in upward or downward direction over the screen. This system is comparatively efficient and cost effective than other proposed systems in terms of scalability and reliability. Also, the proposed system has been thoroughly tested and verified in various environmental conditions.

This paper highlights the concept of a ground-mounted solar PV plant. It deals with the ground-mounted solar photovoltaic design, and development using numerical analysis under static and dynamic conditions. Ground-mounted solar components are made up of steel shows superior performance and is cost-effective. CFD analysis is executed on the structure of the study for flow and assessment of wind pressure on the developed model using Indian environmental conditions. The CFD results have been compared and validated h the analytical calculations obtained through IS 875 codes part 3 for wind pressure. Structural FE analysis is carried out to ensure structural stability for the given hazardous environmental conditions like wind load. Also, modal analysis is carried out to study the effect of dynamic loading.
