The article simulates the impact of the digital technologies’ development on economic growth, which makes it possible to find ways to improve the quality of various spheres of life and identify areas of the economy, the accelerated digitalization of which will ensure an increase in gross domestic product (GDP). The research used groupings of economic activities that directly influence the development of the digital economy. Using the data of regression models, the coefficients of GDP elasticity from the development of the studied sectors were calculated and used to forecast GDP under the development influence of the studied sectors while maintaining the existing trends. The dynamics of the e-commerce market development in Ukraine, the dynamics of production volumes of products (services) of the main types of economic activities in the field of digital transformation of the economy in Ukraine, the dynamics of financial results of enterprises in the information and telecommunications sector in Ukraine, the dynamics of capital investments in the field of information and communications of Ukraine, the dynamics of foreign investment in the development of the type of economic activity “information and telecommunications” in Ukraine, the dynamics of the development of the main areas of digitalization of the Ukrainian economy in 2010-2018 and the dynamics of GDP in actual prices were revealed. A correlation and regression analysis of the impact of the main indicators of the digital technologies sectors development on Ukraine's GDP is also carried out. The forecast extrapolation trend of production growth volumes of products and services in the information sector of Ukraine was built. A forecast of GDP growth in Ukraine has been constructed, taking into account the processes of digitalization of the economy in accordance with certain trends. The forecast dynamics of changes in GDP under the influence of the IT sector development until 2023 was also illustrated. It was found that Ukraine lags significantly behind most developed countries in terms of the level of industrial production development of information and communication technologies and equipment, Ukraine is completely import-dependent in this area. It has been proved that stimulating the development of information and communication technologies has significant prospects for activating digitalization processes in all spheres of the economy and society and increasing GDP.

This study is an attempt to investigate the impact of information and communication technologies (ICTs) development on the participation of women in economic activities in Pakistan. Data for the period 1991-2017 was used for this research work and regressed on female economic involvement and ICTs development and another set of control variables like GDP, FDI and trade liberalization. Data sources are the WDI, IFS, and ESP. Johansen cointegration test, VECM and Granger causality tests were used to estimate data. Estimation techniques were applied after checking the properties of time series data. Results indicate the positive and significant relationship of dependent variable female economic participation and independent variables ICTs development and macro-economic variables in the long run. The study findings indicate that female economic participation has increased with the increase in ICTs in Pakistan. However, the rate of women's economic participation was not found as increasing as in other developed countries, and it is not as rapid as technology developed in the last decade.

The contribution of the so-called ‘New Economy’ to economic growth in developing countries has so far been minimal. Nonetheless, in the longer run the ‘New Economy’ offers great potential for faster economic growth in post-socialist economies. Realising this potential is, however, not automatic. It could be left unharnessed if there is no suitable institutional and economic infrastructure that would allow for adoption, diffusion, and productive use of information and communication technologies (ICT). The paper here will construct a New Economy Indicator (NEI) that measures the levels of preparedness of transition economies for harnessing the potential of ICT to accelerate long-term economic growth and a catching-up with the developed countries. In the NEI ranking Slovenia scored highest; it is followed by the Czech Republic and Hungary. Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia–Montenegro (former Yugoslavia) occupy the bottom of the table.

In this paper, we try to investigate the contribution of digitalization on economic growth in both developed and developing countries over the period 1990-2020. For this end, different econometric tools are applied on a panel dataset. Overall, we show that the digital technologies seem to significantly and positively affect economic growth in both groups of countries. The digitalization impact level tends to differ across countries. Our empirical results also display that the short- and long-term relationship between information and communication technologies and economic growth is well documented. Such results can be useful for policymakers to enhance the digital economy and provide novel channels to develop adequate policies and promote new institutions. So, benefits from digitalization can lead to realize substantial economic growth.

The impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on learning remains one of the most controversial topics among scholars. There are experts who see them as the cornerstone of a revolution in education but others consider that ICTs have been overrated, as it was the case with radio and television in the twentieth century. This study attempted to analyze the potential and actual value of ICTs on learning and cognition, based on a qualitative content analysis that allowed to contrast the results of 150 research articles published between 2006 and 2021, with international reports and scholars’ contributions to the topic in discussion.

Information overload is an important issue in the digital economy. Although, information can be easily accessed and disseminated by widespread use of information and communication technologies (ICT) since 1990s; among countries, there are still significant disparities in information access and utilization as well as ICT access and usage. ICT affect economy, industries and companies holistically and have important functions like increasing economic growth and promoting development. The basic purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of ICT on economic growth and electricity consumption for a group of Balkan and Eastern European countries by using other economic variables that affect electricity consumption and growth, such as income and electricity consumption for control purposes. This study employed a panel data method on a group of Balkan and Eastern European countries to verify the effect of other economic variables, primarily electricity consumption and found that ICT had positive impacts on economic growth.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the sustainability of the Senegalese economy towards a digital transition. To do this, this work focused on modeling the relationship between digital technologies and economic growth. We applied the ARDL (Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag) estimation method to model the long-term and short-term dynamics of the impact of the digital economy on economic growth in Senegal. The results of the estimates, as part of the specification used, lead to the conclusion that there is a positive impact of information and communication technologies (ICT) on economic growth. These results are mainly due to the productive nature of investment and factor productivity.

The main subject of the research is implementation of information and communication technologies in teacher education system of Nordic countries. The article offers a comparative analysis of the main stages in the ICT development in the professional teacher training systems of four developed countries in the Scandinavian region: Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, which are world leaders in the impact of ICT on education and society and have gained a positive experience in creating their own strategies for reforming of all the important teacher education components based on the widespread use of modern information and communication technologies. The author considers that one of the key factors explaining Nordic innovation and digital literacy strength lies in the fact that the progress of using ICT in the system of professional teacher training has taken place in parallel with the processes of informatization, computerization, technological changes and prioritization of the 21-st century skills development in all countries of the Nordic region. Three essential stages of ICT implementation in Nordic educational environment were substantiated. The first is induction (or introductory) stage, connected with the gradual implementation of computer technologies into the educational process. The second is infusion (or partial use) stage, distinguished by joining all the educational institutions to the worldwide information systems. The third is incorporation (or systematic integration) stage, identified by the conceptualization of ICT-related teacher education. These three stages are characterized by the main similar and different principles of the information technologies use in the Nordic pedagogic dimension. The research findings may help to efficiently implement the information and communication technologies into the system of Ukrainian teacher education.
