Professionalism is usually considered the expertise, skill and knowledge of that particular field first, and its application effectively and efficiently than. The curriculum professionals are the people who are associated with teaching and learning activity and they suggest the course of action by taking aims and objectives prescribed by the state. They need to have knowledge of various educational, ideological, sociological and psychological foundations to meet the change and challenges of the post modern era. Their professional characteristics and significance has been discussed, analysed and assessed by the views of social scientists of different countries in the coming paragraphs. Finally the expertise they need, factors that affect them, major consideration they had to take into account in developing curriculum for the futures is presented  as main theme of the article. In the end the effects of globalisation, internationalisation and information and communication technology which is changing in great speed and strength play a significant role in development of curriculum in this century.

Abstract While information and communication technologies (ICT) are prominent in educational practices at most levels of formal learning, there is relatively little known about the skills and understandings that underlie their effective and efficient use in research higher degree settings. This project aimed to identify doctoral supervisors’ and students’ perceptions of their roles in using ICT. Data were gathered through participative drawing and individual discussion sessions. Participants included 11 students and two supervisors from two New Zealand universities. Focus of the thematic analysis was on the views expressed by students about their ideas, practices and beliefs, in relation to their drawings. The major finding was that individuals hold assumptions and expectations about ICT and their use; they make judgements and take action based on those expectations and assumptions. Knowing about ICT and knowing about research processes separately form only part of the work of doctoral study. Just as supervision cannot be considered independently of the research project and the student involved, ICT skills and the use of ICT cannot be considered in the absence of the people and the project. What is more important in terms of facilitating the doctoral research process is students getting their “flow” right. This indicates a need to provide explicit support to enable students to embed ICT within their own research processes.

PurposeThe use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) has become a major driving force in transforming education worldwide. Similarly, in the last ten years, the usage of ICTs and e-learning in Pakistan has increased. Whereas the latest educational policy of the Government of Pakistan has focused on using ICTs and e-learning in schools and universities. The national professional standards for teachers have also suggested teachers to integrate ICTs in their classrooms and develop e-learning platforms for teaching and learning processes. However, in this study the effectiveness of information and communication and e-learning technologies integration in teaching and learning has been assessed. The context selected for this research study is a public university of Sindh, Pakistan. The research gap, which has been founded through the extensive literature review, indicated that most of the students are not able to utilize ICTs effectively. The first objective of this study is to enable students to gain wider range of knowledge and access Internet for developing a global outlook. Moreover, the second objective of this study is to develop students' capabilities of processing information more effectively and efficiently for teaching and learning.Design/methodology/approachBy nature, this study is quantitative survey-based research study. For this purpose, data has been collected from students and teachers of English, Computer Science and Business Administration departments of targeted university, survey questionnaires have been adopted as a data collection tool. Whereas the random sampling technique is used for the collection of data by using Morgan table of sample size. Additionally, data has been collected from 100 participants, 80 of them were students and 20 were teachers, and data has been analyzed by using SPSS 22.0 software.FindingsThe findings of this study have indicated the student's level of interest toward the integration of ICTs and e-learning in science and social science courses. Similarly, the findings specify that through ICT and e-learning materials, students can learn more effectively, which can also facilitate teachers for their teaching process in this modern era of technology. Whereas the issue that has been specified through the findings is that the teachers are not encouraged by the management of the university to implement the ICT in their teaching and learning due to their concerns on the limited resources and lack of competencies.Practical implicationsFor the practical implication, the findings of this study will facilitate the teachers and learners for integrating the ICTs and e-learning in their course curriculums and interactive teaching practices as per modern era of technology. Also, this study will help the provincial leader and policymakers by addressing the teachers’ concern to encourage the integration of ICT tools and develop capabilities for interactive classrooms for effective teaching and learning.Originality/valueThis is the first study of its nature that has been conducted in the Pakistani public university in rural setting, and the finding of this study will facilitate and help the institutional and government stakeholders to where and how they can effectively integrate ICTs and e-learning in classrooms for interactive teaching and learning processes in the rural Sindh.

Abstract In this modern era, information and communication technology (ICT) devices such as smartphones have been influencing every aspect of our lives, including education systems. It is needless to say that ICT-integrated education systems enable more effective and efficient teaching and learning environments for societies. However, the levels and processes of ICT integration into education are different by country. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to compare South Korea and Turkey in terms of the of ICT integration into their education systems. For this, the study has been conducted as an archival study, and has comprehensively analyzed the academic resources and governmental reports by employing ICT Literacy framework. The results showed that both countries have made, and have been continuing to make, efforts to bring ICT and its benefits into education environments. While South Korea has had PCs and video systems for a long time, Turkey has only recently acquired tablet PCs and smartboards in classroom settings. Besides, both countries have been experiencing similar challenges integrating ICT into education, including stakeholders’ acceptance and teacher-training programs related to ICT utilization. Lastly, the obvious difference of these two countries seems that there is a huge business sector regarding ICT-based education in South Korea compared to Turkey due to the fact that South Korea initiated the ICT utilization in education years before Turkey. It is hoped that this study provides various helpful insights on integrating ICT into education for other countries.

Main Contribution of educational technology in management of education and learning is open the horizon knowledge about strategic environment change. We need science and technology growth caused by activity learning and study innovation. By the way, this insufficient because technological concept of study give the formula about how carrying out teaching and learning activity in this globalization era. Then, technological application, especially ICT (Information And Communication Technology) in the education field to overcome the learning problem have a number of conditions, for example the need of expense of big enough investment and skillful energy in managing and developing education. Noteworthy that education represents the long-term investment. Therefore, investment of basic facilities of education has to be reckoned with the result of education in future

This study aims to improve the activeness as well as mathematics learning achievement on sets topic through the Jigsaw learning model, grade VII B students of SMP Negeri 12 Semarang odd semester of 2018/2019 academic year. The research process consists of two cycles, in which each cycle covers for steps namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The research data were in the form of observation sheet notes, test results, and assignment results. The type of collected data is qualitative and quantitative data. Technique of data collection applies documentation, observation and analysis of learning results. Research instruments cover score list, notes of teaching and learning journal, and observation sheet. Data validation is done by involving observer and colleagues involved during the collaboration. Data analysis was performed using descriptive comparative technique by comparing pre, first and second cycle data. This step was then followed with critical analysis by conducting the reflection. Previously, the average knowledge score of grade VII B students on set topic was 55, while the  average skill score was 56. Later on, after the jigsaw learning model was applied, average of the  knowledge score increased to 65.6 at the first cycle, and 81.3 at the second cycle. Meanwhile the average of skill score was increased to 71.9 at the first cycle and 83.6 at the second cycle. These results indicate that there is an increase at the mathematics learning achievement for grade VII B students. In addition, students’ activities are increasingly optimal; they show quite positive responses towards teaching and learning activity.
